1. Aaaaw @Pugilist !! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful perspective! You (and all of the other ladies kind enough to respond) are right. It's a beautiful, amazing crap shoot! I'm not going to think twice about it and let my tattoo adventure resume it's natural evolution (whatever that means :o ) come what may!
2. Here are some of my picks for tattoo comfort: Thighs/legs - Women's - Shorts - Side String Shorts - Shakti Activewear They are super cute, comfy, secure through the lady bits, don't stain from ink and offer some coverage adjustability. They run around $50 on the Shakti website but you can probably find them for a little less. Comfort bras - Shop || Welcome to The Coobie Bra Store || The World's Most Comfortable Bra They also offer a bandeau (one with and one without pads) Shop || Welcome to The Coobie Bra Store || The World's Most Comfortable Bra They are very soft and comfortable. The straps can be adjusted to racerback. Google "coobie coupon" before you order as they are pretty good about offering discounts on the reg. Chest tattoos: When I got mine done at the SFO convention, I wore a peasanty, off-the-shoulder top (the kind with the elastic!) over a bandeau. This allowed for maximum adjustability while still providing coverage. I have attached an example. Luckily, they are all the rage right now so fairly easy to find. Or, google "off the shoulder tops". Rib/Stomach tattoos: I haven't gotten work here yet but this is my plan....fashion tape and a hand towel. When I see my message therapist and she works my abdomen (Lymphatic drainage from so many tattoooos this last year! ), she uses a hand towel across my chest to preserve my modesty and keep me warm. I figure a big ole strip of fashion tape across the chest above the ladies would keep that bad boy in place while allowing for adjustment. MY BIG QUESTION FOR YOU LADEEEZ IS...abdomen tattoos now, or after I have a baby? Does anyone have experience with what happens to a tattoo during/after pregnancy? I asked my most recent artist and he said that tattooing on stretch marks doesn't take so well so that has me worried about waiting until after. Thoughts...? And thanks so much for this thread!!! I LOVE it!!:o
3. Aaaah the ole "tattoo hiatus"... I am attempting that one as well but just got buddy tattoos while in the Netherlands. I say, if it takes less than an hour or an hour and a half it doesn't count.
4. I would love to hear the stories about everyone's Monmon cat tattoos and a specific thread where everyone posts them as soon as they get them... Does that warrent a new thread? Honestly, it's better for my immediate gratification to have a very direct way to see everyone's cats whenever I want as soon as they are done. :D MONmonmonmonmonmonmonmon!!!!!!!
5. Ooooh yes! And thanks for the blog link. It's great!
6. That just made me spontaneously LOL all over the place...
7. Hey, no fair...you already have TWO, Mr. Greedy McGreedykins! Also, I would love it if you added them to your gallery so we don't have to search through the January ToTM thread to look at them...just sayin' :D But yes, more is better.
8. My Kannon inspired, forearm cattoooo from Horitomo - State of Grace, San Jeeezzy, California (January 2014). Yaaaaaay for Horitomo! Yaaaay cattoooos! Yaaaay tattooooos!!:D:o

10. Whoah, that is cool! Even if it is a reprint it is still super cool.
11. Hi hi @littlecreatures! Welcome to LST! Just in case you have not bumped into them yet, here are two books regarding tattoo history and women that I love: Bodies of Subversion: A Secret History of Women and Tattoo, 3rd Edition: Margot Mifflin: 9781576876138: Amazon.com: Books The Tattooed Lady: A History: Amelia Klem Osterud: 9781933108261: Amazon.com: Books And YES! please post pics of your other tattoos. The ones you have uploaded are lovely! :o All the best!
12. Thanks, @HettyKet…I did. :( I feel like I tried everything to no avail. I know that you have a lot of experience with it at work. Have you heard anything about using a saline solution to aid in removal? I may need to accept that my skin is sensitive to it for whatever reasons but I just loved the freedom of it. Yes please, @BrianH…how did it go?

Boom.

Oookay...was going through storage and found this pic of my Korean white tiger by Chris Trevino in 1995. My first tattoo! Sorry I haven't updated my gallery yet...in the works. Thanks for strolling down memory lane with me! And also, @hogg, I was in Austin from 1993 to 2000...wouldn't it be weird if we knew each other?!
15. Hi Erin and welcome! My hubbs was born in Edmonton. I forced him to take me there last year for Christmas so I could have snow. :) Good luck with your pursuit and all the best!
16. Yo @Killercook76! It was around a 5 hour session with Horitomo on my forearm (which other than HellBoyish swelling) I don't find particularly sensitive to heal. (Not the ribs! Not the ribs!) But aah, @Bigboy67, it did feel like I was peeling my skin off. I should have done a test first. I think that is really brilliant on your part. I have pretty fast/easy heals (no scabbing, great color, etc). I wanted to try it on account of the set-it-and-forget-it FREEEEEDOM! (which was aaaaaawwsoome...I loved that part). I also notice there is less "fruity pebble" action (grooooosss, @Pleadco, and so accurate :D ) which is also cool. But I think maybe my skin doesn't love it. :( Thanks, guys. For your time, response and troubleshooting.
17. Okie-Dokie y'all..especially @Bigboy67 @HettyKet and @Killercook76, I just used the Tegaderm for the first time week before last. I was thrilled by the freedom it offered but TOTALLY traumatized by the removal. I went a full 72 hours+, shower with hot water and soap, used the rolling motion, used the "pinch and pull", you name it. It took a solid 20-25 minutes. Is this normal. I mean, it was stressful and uncomfortable. It took 2 or 3 days for the area to not feel abraded and sore. Is this usual? If I am just being a baby I can totally accept that…but I wasn't suppose to grip and rip, was I?
18. Hi Krista @frankentooth ! Welcome (back..even though you were here before me, no doubt :D )! I am currently all about The Ladeeeez in the tattoo world. It will be cool to see what's up in your world!
19. Hey Fala! Are you still doing this? If so, I am down. I have no preference for comms so just let me know what you want/need. Thanks!
20. This is an interesting thread! I always exfoliate and moisturize but 2 weeks before I intensively exfoliate and moisturize the going-to-be-tattooed area. The week before I focus on drinking at least 2L of water of day to make sure my lymph is moving well and no sugar or caffeine. The day of I try to eat well but not heavily, bring snacks if it runs more than 2 hours and after I want some kind of massive protein and starch mega meal. 5 Guys, lettuce-wrapped, bacon cheeseburger and cajun fries is my favorite. (Unless I am at Spider Murphy's than I want Sol Food Puerto Rican and in Berlin I ate the most gigantic plate of schnitzel and spaetzle ever...but y'all get the idea). Sometimes I wash that night sometimes I don't but I definitely whine a lot and get crabby for the next 24-36 hours....which is really the most important part of the ritual. The whining and crabby-cakes. My husband loves it.
21. Thanks @Wilhell! Gotta love Scott Sylvia's roses (well, actually I guess Scott Sylvia anything :) ) I love all of your Marius Meyer...so badass!
22. Yaaay! Hi @JoshRoss! I live in the Bay Area too and it is totally BRUTAL living so close to sooo many awesome artists. Welcome! I love your Beau Brady Lady (Justice?) and I am a huge Jill Bonny fan! I am so excited to see what she does. :) Happy New Year and keep us posted!
23. Hi @angelique marie! Another option (maybe) is good old Dermablend makeup. It may depend on your performance schedule and physical contact with other dancers in your choreography but it has pretty hardy staying power. It has been around for forever and will hide a tattoo easily, especially a small one. Maybe have a consultation and try a patch test to see how it withstands the rigors of performance and to check for sensitivity. Welcome and best of luck in all things! :D
24. Hi @darkzeru! Welcome! That's so cool that you are heading into your next tattoo. Good luck with everything and I hope you love it for forever. My first two hold a special place in my heart and always will. :o I have had the best luck physically going into shops to discuss new tattoo ideas. Email is very convenient but I appreciate the opportunity to get the vibe of a shop and meet my potential artist in person. Also, it creates the opportunity to look at the books of the artists and maybe get a sense of who is the best match for what you are wanting. Keep us all posted and have fun!
