Just finished. Mask by Anderson Luna.
Hopefully the detailing will hold and not turn into a blurry blob down the road.

Asian theme. I know his style is not popular on this site, but I think most can still appreciate his work. I like his black and grey and how smoothly he does shading.

Not sure why some get so annoyed by this question.
    Options for responses:
Tell them the truth. "Thought it was cool and I wanted it."
Keep them guessing. "It's personal and I only tell certain people."
Make up a fun story. "It's a reminder of the time I got separated from my group while on safari in lion country....." "I had a pet lion when growing up, but had to give him to the zoo when he got big."

Only 3 leg tattoos so far, but I only got started 6 months ago. I'm Asian, so my legs are almost hairless.

These look pretty good to me. Not sure if it's standalone or background is being added.

Tegaderm worked great on my calf tattoos.

The final dead skin peel on some parts of the manta rays took a long time, but that had nothing to do with tegaderm. I think in general the skin in between the calf and ankle tends to shed slower, plus some heavy black areas in the tattoo.

I am new to tattoos. I always thought they were cool, but had trouble getting past the issue of permanency.
The funny thing about scars is, they are permanent. Finally realized, a nice cool permanent tattoo is a lot better than an ugly permanent scar.

Ha, got my 1st tattoo 4 months ago at age 48. 2nd a month ago. 3rd scheduled in 2 months. I guess you might call it mid-life crisis. I think it's more a combination of things:
    - never realized the different styles and options of tattoos. Always only pictured traditional tattoos (which I don't like)
    - tattoo location. don't need to be publicly displayed unless I want to.
    - 48 yrs of life's experiences. My appearance is what it is. I not "trying" to be anything. I am who I am. I can't control everything.
    - tattoo has personal meaning to me and relates to specific times/places/experiences/memories.

    Welcome .... Pup!
Got my first at 61, 2nd and 3rd at 62. No problems. Age might make us a bit more discerning, and perhaps a bit less concerned about our bodies. I'll avoid anything on my legs and feet just because they became so varicose that it would hurt the art. My chest, shoulders, and arms have taken the ink beautifully - and I don't have to worry what they will look like 50 years from now! Luckily, the big multinational I work for has no problems with me having them, 'cause I'd hate to get fired with 3 years until retirement! The wife isn't over-joyed with them, but hasn't complained and seems to becoming attached to them slowly (tracing the one on my chest as we lay in bed last night was quite the turn-on). I personally have no firm plans for any more, but....

Big reveal in the wild. Diving in the Maldives. On this trip, I saw several of the creatures on my back, which was pretty cool.
The response from my dive buddies was overall pretty positive, and it changed a few attitudes towards tattoos. I had been chatting with three of the women before I let them know I had done it, and unrelated to my tattoo, they all spoke down on tattoos, including the "Why would someone do something permanent - your tastes will change over time" and the "What will it look like when you get old?" Sigh. One of these women really liked it and said it was the best she had ever seen, and she is in the medical field and has seen a lot of bare skin. A lovely woman from Austria was just in love with it and gushed about my "sea" that I can take with me. :-)

Bit of a long break from LST but I am still alive and slowly chipping away at my backpiece.
Had a decent break from tattooing over xmas which was great but back to the grind now.
The snake has taken quite a while but almost finished now. Each scale of the snake has 3-4 different shades of green so has chewed through some time.

3 great artists that do what you are looking for. Justin, Rose and Shaun, all located in 1 shop in Long Island. A visit to Kings Ave to discuss availability and interest of the 3 artists might be a good next step.

I went from no tattoos to 5 in the past year. Shoulders and legs, so they are easily hidden. This past summer I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. A casual friend told me I've changed a lot. I asked what he meant. He stated I didn't think you were the type to get tattoos. I asked him if this was winter and you never saw my tattoos would you say I've changed a lot ? He replied "I guess not "
No one at work or any customers/clients know I have tattoos. Appearances do matter. How you dress, how you groom yourself, your tattoos. Look around to decide what your appearance should be and don't just look at your co-workers. Look at the supervisors, managers and bosses.
I'm entitled to get tattoos if I want. But I don't expect people to share my point of view or opinion on things. I have a good job that pays well. It affords me to get good tattoos by good artists.
