    Birds and Flowers

    2 cardinals and blue jay
  2. 2 cardinals and a blue jay with flowers By Matthew Stella of Old Town Ink Done Yesterday 2/1/14
  3. I have arm and middle of back and I would call them more irritations than PAIN. I wouldn't describe it as hurting mainly b/c I have and I am sure most of us have experiences real pain and hurting than a tattoo I am getting my shoulder blade/neck area done next weekend :D We'll see if that has more pain Also, is it true about having more muscle or fat than being skinny in certain areas helps?
  4. The place I got my first 2 tattoos Old Town Ink in Scottsdale-the artist is Matthew Stella I really like it there, I'd get tattooed by any of the artists there, already got done by 2 and now 3
  5. Hey guys, I finally made an appt with Aaron Coleman at Immaculate Tattoo in Mesa, AZ I am really excited, it's set for March 19. I met him last night and he was really cool and it's a cool place they have I will be getting, maybe a half sleeve, of a black horse with flames My next tattoo though, feb 1, will be 2 cardinals, a blue jay with some roses--symbolic of my family and me being an adoptee
  6. OK so I decided to go with birds 2 cardinals and a blue jay and my artist suggested some roses to add which will be nice too :D I also finally booked my appt with Aaron Colemon for March 19th!! The horse of fire will be awesome I am sure. He said it will be about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. It will be bigger than my cobra tattoo as well
  7. Well of course, the only people I would walk up to are the ones who have several tattoos and also who have GOOD tattoos. I think that shows that they like it and they are serious about it. I wouldn't say we have a lot in common with a girl with a tramp stamp and a guy with a tribal band around his arm LOL I think that's pretty straight forward
  8. WOW So, the guy that did the scorpion on my back is going to be on this show!! Aaron "Bubba" Irwin from Old Town Ink in Scottsdale Also cool to see another AZ artists-Randy Vollink from Mesa on here too
  9. Yeah it's like you automatically have something in common with someone. I have had a few convos with some other tatted people and we shared who did our tattoos Sometime people don't like to bothered for some reason about their tattoos, not sure why
  10. Yeah I was thinking birds, since they are a pretty simple design. I don't wanna go too overboard with this tatto. Keep it fairly simple with a strong message though. I am also worried about space and how much detail a larger/different animal would require (needs to be bigger to show the detail-esp if it were something like lions or tigers.
  11. I know it has been discussed how to protect your tattoo from the sun with clothing and sunscreen after it has healed BUT what about washing and moisturizing? I know these are regular things you do daily but do you still need to use the items your artist told you to use? (for me it was Dial Gold soap and Lubriderm-fragrant free) I got my arm tattoo on the 29th of Dec, so it's been about 2 1/2 weeks. I still moisturize it, sometimes 2x a day. I am still using dial gold but on my back tattoo, I was with normal body wash and the shower hits it directly. I got the back one back around Halloween. I think my arm is about done. Sometimes it looks a little dry or linty but that could just be the dryness in the air. It doesn't itch or peel anymore. When can I just shower and not worry about it soaking or hitting it directly and use normal soap? Also, should you always keep a fragrance-free lotion on it or can you use whatever moisturizer on it after it's healed?
  12. If you have one or more than no one really stares unless they're on your face or hands lol Or they might stare if your tattoos say something and they are reading or they are just really cool :D Or of course if you are covered and sleeved up then they might stare or just look and no big deal really I feel like tattoos are becoming so part of our culture now, they aren't as much of a shock value anymore. It does depend on what you get in a way, but our society is more accepting in them in general. I think it depends where you are and what kind of people you are around as well.
  13. Ahh the waiting times are killing me lol I guess it's good to really think it over more and sharpen the details of what you want and save/plan $$
  14. Ohh, I meant I like the idea of the geometric designs. That, I assume, was just an example. I am not going to use that design. I have already sent the artist the original idea but he doesn't sketch anything till the day of or before. If I change my mind, I should tell him now right? I don't wanna be annoying and not know what I want considering it's now only a few weeks away - - - Updated - - - I was thinking of something like 3 doves-small, large and medium sized in a cirle or intertwing or something :p
  15. I do like this idea, I will let my artist know, I am sure he will come up with something awesome
  16. Well upper back/neck so it would stick out a little Other people have been telling me to do chest cuz of the hearts - - - Updated - - - Well, I definitely thought about using something more visual but I couldn't really think of anything. I mean I guess a family of birds or something with a nest, but I didn't want that. I think I want this tattoo to be more for the meaning that the visualization-so less detail and time. Anyway, where I go, they always make it interesting, even if it's something simple like words or a design. I wanted it to be smaller and not too large either.
  17. I don't even know what that is lol I never really traveled around the state or cared about other places when I lived there. I went to NYC and Boston a lot though. When I say I'm from CT, people always ask about "oh do you know where blah blah is?" And I am like IDK!!!! LOL I don't even know where Durham is
  18. Any thoughts on the one above?
  19. LOL yah it is, in fact I have an appointment to get a small tattoo (small compared to what I have now) on the 1st of Feb. I think I will get it on my upper back, most likely below the neck, not sure yet but in that area. I was adopted and so I am going to get the adoption symbol I went to the liberty of drawing of rough idea of what I was envisioning. The hearts would represent my mom, dad and I as on family. It is a HUGE part of who I am even though I was 1 1/2 yrs old when they adopted me. I wouldn't have the life I do without them at all.
  20. my dog, zoe, is getting old. She is going to be 13 or 14 this year but she is having that off and on days type of life now. She is a Bichon Frise and they can live longer than larger dogs so I hope she does have a few more years left. I was considering a tattoo of her. I don't know if I want just her name or an actual portrait of her w/ name.

    Why?

My friend did this to me about my snake tattoo. She said I spent way too much and that she and her bf went to this place and she got a tattoo on discount and he got a free one since it was Halloween or something. She then mentioned the one on her foot was cheap but she needed it redone cuz the guy didn't do it right LOL She DOES have smaller tattoos which would contribute to the cut in cost but she was all proud how she only spent the max of $150 on a medium size tattoo on her back. I can easily now tell how much a tattoo was worth cuz a lot of people's don't look so great. Who knows if they took care of it properly too but having them stand next to someone with higher quality tattoos, the difference is VERY clear. A tattoo is not a tattoo, they are all not created equally

    Red Scorpion

Red Scorpion with Arabic script "There is no life without passion"
  23. They look really awesome but how do you wash your hands and stuff?
  24. Yeah I am excited now!!! I have all these ideas in my head of things. I am a creative/imaginative person but I don't have that talent to put it on paper or, in this case, skin
