  1. @Brock Varty so whats your take on the norman colins documentary? where his distaste for lyle tuttle is mentioned. technically if that documentary holds any water the dilution started way before tv. the growth of an industry dictates that these types of things will happen. its up the people involved to keep the records straight. its not the involvement thats the problem its what they bring to the table while involved. out of curiosity, do you tattoo?
  2. im up in edmonton alberta right now doing a guest spot at urge. ive been coming here for the last four years. canada has a lot of great stuff going on as far as tattooing goes.
  3. what does that mean exactly? the real people in the tattoo industry? ive been to plenty of conventions where the original cast of the show has also been tattooing. those guys and girls are working hard just like everyone else. theyre definitely not sitting around taking pics and showing off how cool they are. and i know from personal experience that they are getting respect cause they are showing that they are workers not jackassed reality tv personalities.
  4. hope you all like this one as well. i was reading the thread and booking tickets to calgary and rmemebered i did this one at the con last year. thanks :)
  5. ok so i took a look at the photo. something tells me that thats not the same tattoo. the shadow patterns arent the same. there are areas that are darker than they started and that wont happen ever. not to mention there are areas where the shadows are completely different and that wont happen either. the two tattoos dont match and it doesnt add up. ive seen tattoos fade but certainly not change

  10. Spike TV Orders 'Tattoo Rescue' Pilot from 'Ink Master' Team (Exclusive) - The Hollywood Reporter
  11. Ok, so I saw this last night on tv... Has anyone seen the show "bar rescue" ? It's a show about failing bars and some industry expert comes and shows them what's wrong and saves there business. So, if you haven't guessed by the name of the thread... The sane net work that presents bar rescue is gonna bring us the cesspool they will be calling "tattoo rescue". I think this show has promise, and by promise I mean, making me laugh my ass off in disbelief and disgust. Has anyone else seen the comin attractions to this show? I really do think it's go na be awesomely terrible and it has to have all these other shows beat by a mile

  14. gangsta clap... praying hands lmfao but i originally thought is was a black stripper who could do a seriously gangsta ass clap - - - Updated - - - its the girl thats bent over backwards that turns into the skull. i forget whos flash it is....shit.
  15. ive been tattooing for a good while and i used to tell people who had bad tattoos that they had bad tattoos. i realized its not cool. everyone that loves their own tattoos think they have the best tattoos ever. so unless im amongst other tattooers i never speak about who has bad tattoos or what tattoos are bad. and truth be told some clients that know too much about the whos who and whats what in tattooing annoy the shit outta me as much as the clients that ask for hoodie ghosts ( grim reaper) and that leads me to another topic. all of us at the shop have been comprising a list of stupid shit clients ask for: rosemarie beads, gangsta clap, happy face sad face, curvis, scripture, broke back girls, skeleton heads, falcon birds, 3D tattoos, angel babies and realistic dragons(not too many pics of them around anymore)
  16. now thats a day that works for me! but ill need to be reminded cause im pretty much a fuck

  18. god is in his holy temple... earthly light be silent now
  19. i hope its a "mom" tattoo. i once showed my mother a new tattoo i had gotten, i was about 23 years old, she took a look at it, started crying and told me i was ugly. this article resonates deeply with me. the woman who wrote the article is a complete fucking moron.
  20. so here are my thoughts on fat people with tattoos..... theyre fat and have tattoos. being a good person to be around is way more important, it just takes longer to get out of your way if you fall in my direction. just get tattooed and enjoy them
  21. i didnt read the article but heres m2c. by nature pastel colors fade quickly do to exposure to light. so it stands to reason that that would happen when you put them into the skin. i also do believe as i said in a different thread that the technical ability of the person putting them in comes into play a great deal. but in the end all tattoos will change, some will spread some will fade. to what level, i believe really depends on how a persons body deals with the ink and the technician applying the ink. ultimately if the client is happy and business is good then its a success. even the people who have bad tattoos that love them, see a great tattoo in their head. figuring out what tattoos are better than others is a moot point. as tattooers we all pretty much are on the same grind so what difference does it really make. as a collector that loves their tattoos what difference does it make if another collector doesnt.
  22. i had a similiar situation years ago. some sort of tribal cat face and we went back and forth about the angle of the whiskers for about 2 hours. when she finally decided on what she wanted i went to the bathroom to wash up and came out and she was gone. the shop guy who was dating the boss told her if she wasnt comfortable with me she should just come back another day. i freaked! so then to make matters worse a few days later i was coming in to the shop on my day off and she was leaving with the tattoo i drew. the same shop guy gave the design to one of the other artists from off my wall.... doubly freaked!
