  1. i just emailed him to see when/if hes coming back to nyc anytime soon cause i want a tattooooooo. i worked with him for a week when he guested at dare devil.
  2. I Did some of my first tattooing on Eric. He's an very old good friend of my. We went to college together and I believe he was the piercer at cliff's. And he knew how to set up a machine so I went to work he learned to tattoo about a year after me and became a great tattooer
  3. there are sooo many well rounded tattooers out there. so many will be left out. id like to see someone post someones name that no one ever talks about
  4. @David Flores yeah me and the unmentionable did it too years ago. ill be sharing a booth this year but tell him to come by its always nice meeting new people
  5. well put! i gotta throw in the fact that so many young tattooers are relying on wonky 'traditional" to get by and build a name for themselves. they think they know how to tattoo. i wanna see what they are gonna do when the market for that stuff changes.
  6. im gonna have to say cory norris...ive recently become a fan of his work and that doesnt happen very often. that being said he is super well rounded.
  7. i absolutely know what you mean. i personally dont think that one style of tattooing is better than any other. when you get tattooed by someone who is an excellent technician your getting the best you can get and at the end of the day the body takes its toll on the tattoo. i understand all the arguments about this vs that but it doesnt matter to me. color stuff falls out, bold black spreads shits gonna change.
  8. but portland has the acropolyse! sooooo goood im doing chicago in april
  9. ive been tattooing for about 15 years now and i can tell you tattooing in nyc was seemingly more diverse than it is now. i remember never being allowed to turn down a tattoo cause we you didnt work in that style. my mentor instilled in me the fact that i should always be well rounded. the only thing i was allowed to turn down was portraits and at that time i would just turn them over to him. as an artist i think it great to have a style but as a technician i know one style doesnt teach you everything there is to know about tattooing. just my two cents of cours
  10. i would say they used the same reference. did a bunch of tracing and went for it. but if you notice shane moved the hand and put a mic in it. and if you further notice. the indentation from where that hand was is still in the dress.
  11. i gotta say it... you sir are now my idol for this genius idea
  12. I don't know much about ERT except one of the guys there is my buddy and he's cool as hell and the other guy built a submarine of memory serves me correctly so he's pretty fonzzi. But I can't even begin to to comment on what the chick did. It's just flat out wrong, what the fuck was she thinking ?
  13. A bunch of my clients have been contacting me non stop to sign up for the casting of season 2 of this shit show. And it just occurred to me that this show can definitely hurt the reputations of the few tattooers that are good on there. Think about what is being said to them by the 3 stooges. It's not a good look even if they are right on their critiques. So not that I think I'm bad but 100,00 before taxes isn't worth it
  14. My name is spelled wrong on the forum. Cause I'm a dope. Thanks for spelling it right though. Lol
  15. Watch the episode again. The line work on Shane's tattoo was wobbely
  16. @ShawnPorter now those look more like gates. still not the gates of would of done but way more gate like than the gates that al phony try to gate. :P
  17. i did the dagger on the thumb... thanks for posting it :)
  18. a finer lines does not mean less quality. all lines thicken over time, so do the math. do you really think a fat line is always the answer? the size of the tattoo and detail should determine the line weight. you should never mindlessly pick up a needle and say this is good for everything. cause quite simply its not. you can bold line a tattoo if its permitting. go look at what happens to script if its not big enough for a 14rl.
  19. she looks like a "holy shit what the fuck happened to her" to me i read that article and shes the worst! totally doesnt understand what shes criticising. its like asking a small child to try new food and they look at it and say, yucky i dont like it with out even trying it.
  20. lets be honest a monkey could of made those cuts. they definitely choose have the cast for the sole purpose of axing them. if you really put the worlds best ten artist on that show the judging would take weeks to figure out whos work was better. right now its a no brainer
