  1. Where your back of thigh meets your arse, without a doubt. Worse than banging armpits, ribs or sternum.
  2. Incorporate the lettering in with the reaper and smash that bicep solid as fuck.
  3. @OutOfIdeas. That there is meditation. @xcom. This is something you need to find within yourself. It's serious business being belted under the machine. That's kind of the persona I take. I hate fucking around, chit chatting especially during being tattooed. I'll find myself psyching in a couple of days beforehand. A couple of large beers with my tattooer prior, then it's on the table quiet, easy breathing and when the pain comes find a way to embrace it. The more it hurts, just smile with it. Channeling pain. That shit ain't always easy.
  4. Every show is different. Depends on the size of the stage, the panel of judges either sit directly behind you or up the front of the crowd. No. Chicks don't go topless. You'll know what to wear. Like a top piece swimmer or similar. Most events will have a best back female and a best back male, but I have attended a combined category once before, that was at a typical "convention'" style show. I much preferred the old MC shows. Panel composition. Let's put it this way, every show has its flavour and dependant on that flavour is how the judging will go. Not necessarily does the best tattoo win the category, but best for that particular style of show could be quite appropriate. You get the feel of this after attending quite a few. I've taken out best back at some events and haven't made the final judging at others. Anyway, it's all about having some fun and showing the crowd of like minded people. You'll get more "fuck yeah" comments when you're back mixing with the crowd. No, they're not that formal. Just have fun. The best 1st place trophy I won was a Viking drinking horn. Filled full of rum by a very nice looking young lady as I made my way back to the table [emoji4]

    G'day

Another Aussie. Good shit. Welcome! Brisbane here :)
  6. Well said. Tattoo script and font are two completely different subjects. The principles of flow & placement. That's the shit. I don't have any script, not my style. Not heavy enough. But there's individual reasoning behind any tattoo and its meaning. Not all script is meant to be so eligible to the non reader. Just like my back tattoo design. Its significance and meaning isn't as obvious as the design may represent. Exactly what it was designed for. That's the spirit of tattooing for me. Only the wearer knows it's true significance. That's why we should never judge another persons interpretation of their own. The meaning far out weighs reasoning.
  7. Fuckin oath @Colored Guy. I've collected 8. Wish a dragon was my first, just to make it 9.
  8. Ya right. Might take a good week healing, and drinking plenty of Mead to help in it's recovery. :) - - - Updated - - - Good. That's what's getting me in tune to take this bad fucker on! - - - Updated - - - Haha. No, I give them a miss these days, and the smokin' I find a good alcoholic beverage cures all. In mass over consumption, I mean in moderation of course. :) - - - Updated - - - @Cork, dude! I wish ya didn't post that!! :) @daveborjes, mate!! Ya never mentioned this part! Now I'm fuckin scared. If Oliver can handle it, then...surely I will. Right?...right?
  9. @daveborjes. I hear ya brother! On the left hand hit down towards the cuticle. I looked at old mate as if to say...what the fuck we doing! Haha. Anyway Dave, you inspired me mate, drilling the right palm in a couple of weeks. Like, ya said it didn't hurt...right? Or had I been smokin'?!
  10. Had a massive 20 min session today. Added some more Germanic Runes.
  11. @jacobyoung. Sweet choppers man [emoji106]
  12. For sure man @daveborjes. Just chewing the fat there brother ? :) I got ya though, controlled blow out, for sure. That's the other thing I like about hand tattoos also, those areas of drop out.
  13. @daveborjes The palm is less painful than arse? Right! Time to start on a palm plan. How do you get the ink in to hold, virtually jackhammer the line work in? My hands and fingers held up well. The same application, a solid application with a 10 or an 11? I'll Squiz ol' mate this Sunday when we catch up for breakfast beers.
  14. It will take years @keepcalm. My folks too are so disapproving. But, I never seeked their approval to begin with. I use to wear longer sleeves and long pants so I didn't smash them full view, and slowly after time...well, I was just having a beer with mum last night in a pair of shorts and a singlet [emoji4] ...and they're both 78 years old. The comments only stopped within the last under 12 months. I would address them immediately, tactfully, respectfully though stern. See, you won't change that good person in you, and oldies are funny from that generation, they judge big time because their world was so square, but they were raised with impeccable values. You keep on chipping away and out shining with those same values, and after time, a long time, your actions will speak volumes to which they will realise doesn't match what their visual expectation is. Good luck [emoji4]
  15. Personally, from an enthusiasts perspective, I reckon a back is made for 1 full scale tattoo. I'd look beyond what you already have & think about a grand design, flowing over and onto your cheeks. The tattoo you dislike so much can easily be covered this way.
  16. Nightster. What year? Any engine mods?
  17. Found my front wallowing out at high speed. Swapped out for Western Chubby bars. Likes the 21 front much better.
  18. That's where it lays. I got some old mates, who have been around, who are also into tattoos, but none of them can fathom the heavy suit approach like punching the armpits solid, in through the groin area solid. It's the attitude that gets you to the stage of firstly making the decision, committing to it then finally sitting through it. There's so much more to that statement than meets the eye as the attitude forms years beforehand. It's the attitude that separates the wishers from the doers.
