When I started dating my wife she had no tattoos and I had only one at that time. She liked it and I did not mind that she had none. I did not mind if she wanted a full suit or not, it did not matter to me. She also was aware that I would be over time, getting many more and she was ok with that. Now I have a nice start to my collection of tattoos and she does as well. LOL its funny because we now get appointments booked for the same day by the same artist and make a day of it LOL. (I couldn't ask for better) :)

Having all one style of tattoo OR different styles of tattoos is great either way! They both look good when finished.
The collectors that have all one style have a very unique tattoo that flows so nicely over the whole body. Until it would be finished I would keep looking at it (if it were me) and saying to myself, "man there so much more to go till its done". LOL
With the collectors that have all sorts of different styles are lucky to have had the different artists tattoo them. Also they are really interesting to look at because its so very individual and can be so random. :)

RockelMan got a reaction from WGDRMZwylie in Dropping the Bomb, how your parents found out about your first tattoo!
I think my parents are starting to become more inquisitive about my tattoos. Before they just did not want to talk about them. Now they ask if I have had more work done and what it was. I think they realize that it hasn't changed who I was because it is who I am.

RockelMan got a reaction from pintindola in Zippy comebacks!
Hey everyone, Now I am sure we have all had people come up to us and have some negative comment thrown at us about our tattoos. What have been some actual quick thinking comebacks you have used to sort of defend/make the idiot go away.
    I'll start it off:
My wife and I were in a clothing store and this lady comes up to us and said "Look at that awful tattoo, I don't like to see that on a woman". My wife's zippy comeback was "Ya well I don't like to see a mustache and a beard on a woman either but there is nothing I can do about yours..." We laughed and she walked away all frown faced LOL

I think my influence has started to rub off on my wife. When we met I had one tattoo and shortly after I had another. After that, there was a brief break in time, I got another, thats when she got her first. (a small one) Then a few years down the road I got 2 more in 2 weeks. Then a few years later I start my sleeve and she loved the look of the sleeve and wanted one too. So my sleeve is now complete and hers is about 2-3 sessions away from completion :) I know that she is thinking of getting more in the future. I have my next appointment coming up in 2 weeks LOL

since I started becoming very interested in march , My wife has gone from" you can get your back tattoo covered" to last week saying everything except visible and please keep your chest bare. So I got green light for back, ribs, stomach shoulders upper arms and thighs. I guess My Enthusiasm is catching on because she is tossing around the idea of getting something small.. I never thought she would even think about that.

I've decide to finally get my first tattoo at 50 something! I've been thinking about it since I was 18 and realized that I'm not getting any younger. At least this way I don't need to worry about what it will look like when I'm old :) I'm in the Winchester, VA area. I haven't decided on an artist yet, but will post in the main forum looking for recommendations.

One time, knowing that my cat was scared of the sound of the vacuum and that my partner was about to start vacuuming, I picked up my cat in an attempt to soothe him. I still have a pretty good size scar on my hand from that!
A couple of weeks ago I opened a gate the wrong direction. It swung back and hit me in the head. I had to get 3 stitches above my left eye!

great advice on tapping in practice I used to never do it even on armbars and I would hurt for a week.
my small list of training or fight injuries
    dislocated toes
piece of turnbuckle stuck under nail bed got infected
cracked eye socket- didnt know, or even when it happened but an eye exam showedd damage
    crushed nasal passage
    broken nose
stitches on eye from accidental headbutt
    dislocated pinky finger
dislocated shoulder(fought the first rd happened sometime dont really recall when but the doctors jumped in the ring and I thought the other guy threw in the towel. It was only when the came rushing to my corner did I realize my left hand was dangling below my knee)
I am also dealing with a chronic hip issue thought to be caused from muay thai kick box. Doctors are worried that MRI will make the hip joint too unstable so we have been doing all this other crap before MRI

I think a lot of this also stems from new artists not having a proper apprenticeship. Where drawing is a huge part of it. I have a friend that is an apprentice and one day they were told by the end of the week (had the full week to do it plus all the other duties they had) to draw and complete 200 completely different Koi designs to be inspected upon completion. This sort of training makes the apprentice know how to draw an image or alter one that a client brings in so that they can make it their own and not a direct copy.
