  1. Small leg piece from Chad Koeplinger during his 50 States tour...done at Inksmith & Rogers.
  2. Got this from Chad back in July at Inksmith. My only complaint about the tattoo is that he didn't start until about an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment, and he even made the comment about being known for starting tattoos late...he was basically just shooting the shit in the shop, so it wasn't like he was finishing up someone else's tattoo. Other than that, it was a great experience and he's a really cool guy to talk to. I'm planning on moving up to Chattanooga next year and was a little concerned about finding a tattoo shop in the area...when he informed me that he was opening one in Nashville next year, I was elated.
  3. Bert Krak at Smith Street Tattoo Parlour
  4. Birthday sticker from Bert Krak at Smith Street...I think what space I have left on my leg, I'm going to let him fill it.
  5. Jeremy Swed at Inksmith and Rogers

  8. Getting some work done by Bert Krak in two weeks. I'm definitely getting one piece on my leg, and am considering having him do a small-filler piece on my arm...it's going to be somewhat dependent on if he has time to do the second one, but mainly what the cost for the two will be. This pretty much sums up how I feel about getting tattooed by him.
  9. Continuing the work on my leg next week with this Zeis flash piece. Out of all of the old school artists/tattooers, Zeis is the one I'm the most obsessed with...and it's not like a small obsession, but rather an if-I-were-alive-during-his-time-I'd-probably-stalk-the-shit-out-of-him obsession.
  10. I'm sure he could, but he's not as great as he thinks he is. I agree with you on the contestants...I think I can count on one hand the number of good tattooers that have competed over the course of the series. I always love it when one of them--during a specific challenge--says something to the effect of "this is my style, I'm going to knock it out of park", and completely falls flat after it's over. - - - Updated - - - His bell bottoms were not one of them.
  11. I honestly believe that if Chris Nunez was a contestant on this show, he wouldn't get that far...his actual tattooing is not on par with how good he thinks his tattooing is. I haven't seen every piece of work he's done, but some of what I have seen is not great, at all.
  12. I'm not prejudiced against those with poor tattoos, I just wonder what was going their minds at the time. I don't necessarily call people out who have bad tattoos, I usually just stare at the tattoos for an extended period of time with a confused look on my face.
  13. Listened to this the other day...first time in a while.
  14. I was going through some stuff in storage the other day and found this in an old box of CDs from high school...forgot how good this album is.
  15. I agree. I understand the point behind a competition, but they should make it a competition between really great artists, not a mixed bag of tattooers. And I get there could be the slight possibility that some of the not-so-great ones could improve over the course of the show, but that seems like something that would be few and far between.
  16. I really wish Keith would've stuck around...not because he's a good tattooer, but because of the comedic relief he provided week after week.
  17. I always find it alarming when medical professionals see my tattoos before drawing blood and say "hope I'll be able to take your blood, I can't see your vein!" Did they not teach these people the process of palpation? My veins are not hard to find, as they're pretty prominent--even though my arms are covered with tattoos--but if I was someone whose veins were not are as prominent and had tattoos over my AC vein, I would be a little worried.
  18. He ruined that Sailor Jerry piece...I'd love to know what "National Awards" he's won, and what governing body issued said awards.
  19. Finally got around to watching these last night after having bought them a few months ago...I really love blaxploitation films. Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBJEnXtHa2I‎ Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uL7l-TEf-o
  20. I just got back from a week-long cruise on Sunday...went to Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Jet skied in Haiti, went zip lining/river tubing in Jamaica, and went snorkeling in Cozumel. It was my first cruise and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I prefer getting on a plane and visiting a few cities, so I was a little apprehensive about taking a cruise, but all in all I enjoyed it and will probably go on another cruise in the near future.
  21. This show is fucking joke. I've watched a few episodes and am amazed that they let some of the artists tattoo other people. What I really find hilarious about this show is when the judges tell the artists their work overall is good when it clearly is not. Miya Bailey is an idiot and in my opinion, is not a good tattooer at all. I had no idea who he was, then I looked him up and some of his work and pretty much laughed for a good two minutes...his shit is terrible. I'd like to know where they found Jayme Foxx and why they decided to make her a host...she serves absolutely no purpose on the show. The other female that serves as a judge is almost as worthless as Jayme is...I was really surprised Bob Tyrrell attached his name to this steaming cow patty.
