  1. I don't give a shit whether or not any person is tattooed. Doesn't make me trust/like them any more or less. HOWEVER, if I see a person covered with some bullshit tattoos, that might make me feel less of them.
  2. You are right, there is no harm. You have some sort of agreement with somebody in a shop to teach you how to tattoo. You should respect/trust their opinion regarding equipment. Getting their opinion and then asking others just doesn't sound right. I hope it all works out for you. And you wouldn't want to learn from the folks some of us "older" people have learned from. It sucked! I believe there is a topic regarding apprenticeship stories
  3. People that have been tattooing for a long while know how hard of a craft tattooing is. I remember how crazy my 1+ years of college was. There was no way I could do both at the same time. I would definately be failing at one if not be a D+ student at both. D+ tattooer is not what I'm trying to be. Maybe you are different though. Maybe you CAN excel at both, together. Also, if you are serving an apprenticeship at a shop, you should be having machine recommendation conversations with your mentor. He or she should have enough experience to point you in the right direction instead of you asking strangers online. Another thing, if you really wanna sign up for the big race, do you really wanna be wearing pro wings? There are plenty of good machine builders out there. (hint*one partly RUNS THIS FORUM!!!!), but again, your mentor should be advising you. My machines are an investment to my trade not a chore in my craft.
  4. I have a cousin or two with vitiligo. I can see how it could be an embarrassing issue with some people. Especially since it affects alot of people hands and face. If I had this condition, getting my hands tattooed wouldn't be a big deal. But my face?!!! I think I'd deal with the spots.
  5. Daaaaang!!! Actually I think you did him a favor. Do you really want a death photo of a baby tattooed on you? There are other ways to commemorated the death of a family member.
  6. I've always been skeptical about trying to match up skin tones. One, colors are different from the bottle to healed tattoo. Second, tattoos and their colors change with age/time. In the long run, I dont think the tattooed skin tone will match the regular akin tone.
  7. Vitiligo is nothing more than loss of pigmentation in one's skin. Tattooing over skin that's lost it's pigment is just like tattooing a very light skinned person. The skin condition will not have an effect on the color pigment you put in via tattoo. The tattoo will probably look better in the long run compared to peoples without vitiligo. People with vitiligo have to stay out of the sun/wear plenty of sunscreen.
  8. yeah the only thing i dont like about these interviews is that they are too short!!!!!!!
  9. Getting rib area tattooed (by Scott) felt like my shit was slow BBQ pork and was getting a big hot fork to scrape it off for pulled pork sandwiches.

  11. i like that lettering on paper or print or whatever. dont care for it in tattoos. for me personally, lettering should be classy and timeless. when im 75 i dont want graffiti or death metal letters on me.

  15. And jack Rudy is white?!!! I can honestly say I was bugged out the first time I heard jack rudys voice. I truly expected some cholo type shit to come out. Instead it was just the voice of some white dude named jack.
  16. Yeah I'm just not into it. I looooove freddys style but don't think this is a good representation of it. But good for him for being able to jobs outside of tattooing! Plus, yeah that's a lot of dough for a t shirt!
