  1. I have a serious IG crush on Tony Talbert. I heart pretty much everything he posts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Evan Dowdell, Time Will Tell - Burlington ON. He's doing my back piece next year. Nearly a 14 month wait to book in with him. Travis Mcgregor, Thrive Studios - Cambridge ON. I've had work done at this shop by a couple other dudes, and he was another consideration for my back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks! I hear you on upper body strength, I still can't do proper push-ups or unassisted pull ups. My dad is a climber (indoor/outdoor) and has tried to get me into it, but heights and myself don't mix too well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Question! I've looked into becoming a flight attendant, but the general consensus I've read is: no visible tattoos! Does your airline allow you to wear pants? Or are they just more lenient? Most female flight attendants I've seen wear skirts with pantyhose, and even the darkest pair still doesn't completely hide my leg tattoos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Oh man I'm jealous. I wanted to go to him for my back piece, but I couldn't justify the travel expenses on top of an already expensive piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Been working out, eating well, getting my health on. I think I've lost about 10lbs the last two month. Looking forward to when I've shed enough to see the muscles I've been trying to grow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It took me 5 bad tattoos before I really started to learn. Here are 3 I could find pics for. The elvish on my forearm was done by a scratcher friend, done in my dining room, and has since been covered. The angel was done at sinkin ink in Hamilton like 14 years ago; it's been hit a few times with laser now. The elvish/vine above it I actually don't mind, but it definitely won't go with my dragon back piece, so it's going to get hit with laser a couple times this year to lighten it up. That little wavey thing was an impulse tattoo 7 years ago, done at a shop at the beach in Ft Myers, FL. I've had 1O laser sessions on it, and while the blue is quite faded, it won't budge anymore. Still trying to decide on what to cover it up with, or to try another company to see if they have a better laser to target the blue.
  8. Here are some shitty -sorry, no S.O. to take pics for me- photos of my legs so far. The holes I've created on my right calf are beginning to bug me. I'll be filling most of the shin area next month with a chubby pinup. Can't wait to fill the rest.
  9. My Ron Wells piece from last year needed touch ups, and as I'm in Canada and kinda 'po I couldn't just drive to him to get it done. I emailed him asking if he had any plans on travelling this way, and if not if he'd suggest someone to do the touch up instead. He asked me to wait until the Montreal convention, but ended up doing a guest spot in Toronto last month so I got it done then. Moral of the story? Ask your artist. It's his work and should really be done by him. Also, my experience with local artists is that you get in much sooner for touch ups than you would for a new piece. The wait shouldn't be crazy long. 10. What about harem pants? They're only tight at the ankles and loose everywhere else. Forever21 has quite a few with different patterns and they're not expensive at all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It was 2 weeks after I turned 18 in '99. My mum took me to a shop attached to a flea market. I got 2 kanji characters on my lower back that were meant to say crazy but actually say arrogant..no surprise there. I've had a few laser treatments on it and it's getting covered, along with a couple others, when I do my full back next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. This one made me chuckle: "Great artwork and tattooing, however, it is $60 an hour for tattoos and you can't get an appointment very quickly. They require a one - hour consultation a week before the appointment for large pieces and a down payment is required for all tattoo. I am happy with the work they did but the consultation was pointless since I asked for colorful swirls on my arm and ended up with pink clouds and stars. It looks good, but they were a bit pushy when it came to color and style of my tattoo." At least she gave them 4 stars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I live close to Cambridge, and have had work done there...well, in Preston. Can I ask who your artist is?
  14. Bluejays are assholes, and they never shut up!
  15. 4hr45min-ish. Just a small hand sized thing on the back of my calf. Done by an apprentice, thus the length. Almost tapped out twice, but I just wanted it over with.
  16. Nice! I love Franz's stuff. One day I'll make it down there and get something by him. I was just in Toronto yesterday to get an Arya [GoT] inspired ladyhead by Lizzie at Speakeasy. I'll post a picture when it's healed up.
  17. So I guess I was wrong, they most definitely are not over it. I wore a dress to their house today and the first thing they both say to me 'what the hell is on your legs?' And then I had to listen to a slew of other judgey remarks/questions: 'How much did those cost?' 'They should pay you to put those on your skin.' 'You ruined your legs.' and so on. Mind you my grandparents are old school europeans, Nana from Wales and Grandpa from Italy, but I still let them know their opinions on my body are not valid and they can keep them to themselves .
  18. I'm a freckly ginger, so I [try to] stay out of the sun regardless of my tattoos. Last year I got a pretty nasty burn at a concert, and you can still see a little pinkness. I love the beach though, but I hate going in the water, so I just chill under an umbrella and people watch.
  19. I just don't care anymore. The most disapproving people are my grandparents, and I think they basically got over it. Or realized there was no point in protesting. I used to do my best to hide them, but now I make no effort. If they see them, they seem, if not...then whatever.
  20. I'm not doing it to me, my personal trainer is
  21. Those are good stuff. Haven't had them in a number of years, but I'm pretty sure I tried them all. I thought Dirt was pretty tasty, but found Earth Worm tasted like dirt. Every damn day I eat 8 eggs [7 whites, 1 whole], 2 chicken breasts, rice, sweet potato, and a couple protein shakes with almond butter :(. I don't get to eat good food anymore, except every 3rd friday I get French Toast at Wimpy's, and 2/3 Sundays I get pasta dinner at my grandparents. Le very big sigh.

    Fitness!

I've just started up with a personal trainer who's set me up with a 3 month-3 phase meal and work out plan. My goal is to shed fat and gain some muscle [see: Chady Dunmore]. The meal plan is intense! It's a prep meal plan that I believe is geared towards female bikini competitors. Not for the faint of heart for sure.
  23. Love it! Any animal I get in the future will definitely be a rescue.
  24. This is a busy tattoo week for me! Tuesday I'm getting my dude head touched up by Ron Wells. Wednesday I'm leaving a deposit/scheduling an appointment for an Arya [GoT] ladyhead that Lizzie Renaud posted up on her instagram. Saturday I'm getting the potion bottle/vial from the movie Death Becomes Her by Veronica Stice who's doing a guest spot in Toronto.
  25. Honestly, my personal opinion on covering up thick black lines, assuming it was done in black, you're probably better off having a few laser sessions on it, lighten it up, and then the possibilities are endless. Black will show through most colours, so if you don't want to go the laser route, your best bet is something black [like a black bird, or the hair of a lady head, or wind bars]. Beyond that, we can't really give you solid ideas as we don't know what you are into.
