  1. Me too but other users have a profile photo. There's a glitch in the matrix
  2. @9Years Can you hook it up with something like that documentary. I'm curious, where do you live? also, sorry for the double post, I tried quoting and it wouldn't let me type in the post.
  3. @jen7 Yes, I am fully aware of what you went through. I see that all that time around my area.
  4. I couldn't agree more. There were some situations where people just didn't want to help me, prior to getting tattooed. I made me feel as if "I wasn't good enough" for information. But now, I always try to help when asked. I give my honest opinion and sometimes they follow and sometimes they don't. I enjoyed the last 3 years of getting tattoo and I'm happy I waited to get my first tattoo.
  5. I've usually given a cash tip. Only one artist I've seen more than once I gave a gift. To which I've given him 2 tattoo machines, custom made business cards with his info on it and a personalized zippo on different occasions. With regards to to gifts, how bout a bottle of alcohol or business cards custom made with his info on it?
  6. I'm soooo excited for these pieces. Happy that people are getting great projects and finalizing it all. Soon for me......soon.
  7. I kind of feel the same way. I want work from a few different artists. For the artists i wanted and got one peice from them, I tend to feel more comfortable approaching them again. Money is an issue for me as I don't have paying job until the end of May.
  8. @cycleographer Honestly, if you are happy with the work and truly trust the artist. Then just do it. As time progresses, you'd get that rounded down rate. I too was in a situation where i was overcharged a few times. Then I started getting hooked up because the artist was at a different shop. In the end, I assumed maybe it was because the shop was over charging the artists? (sorry I don't know how the payment goes with shops and artists)
  9. @steve Curious, do you want us to report to you if we notice anything odd or any change suggestions?
  10. I've traveled twice. One time I went to California and got tattooed 3 times by two different artists. Stayed in California for a week and really enjoyed my time there. I drove to Delaware alone and got one all day session. Stayed at a hotel and drove the following day back. It can get expensive so plan it out well and really early to save up and maximize on the cheaper hotel rates. I strongly suggest doing it because it's an experience in life and you can enjoy your time in a different city/country. Update us if and when you do. @Matthew Williams

  12. In my opinion, if the tattoos are good and YOU are happy with them. Then do it. People are leaving out the fact that there are some artists that have their "private studio" in their homes. Which can correlate as the same concept as "tattooing out of someone's house". In the end @Vivian you need to decide for yourself if you like this artist.
  13. I am really digging this new layout. it's pretty sweet and loads a HELL of a lot quicker. only issue I see is there should be a darker color border around posts. (unless my computer is reading the colors wrong.) Otherwise, keep up the work. I love LST!!!!
  14. my first 8 tattoos were done on my thighs. When I got my forearm done, it hurt a little more in 2 spots.
  15. My girlfriend has a tattoo on the shoulder. it has aged because it is about 15 years old but not because of the bra strap.
  16. tells us about yourself homie. @TheHappyPeanut
  17. Not a tattoo but we just agreed to terms. I'm buying a painting from Freddy Corbin. Once this buy goes through, I plan on inquiring on an appointment and going to Oakland. it's like I never learn my lesson, I need my priorities in order. lol
  18. UPDATE!!!!! So I'm due to graduate in may with my Master's Degree. Just today i was offered a job to start in mid-april in the same department I work at. This is probably the best news. Downside is that my salary is terrible, but the benefits are amazing. Pension, free tuition for me and my wife (if i ever get married), 40% off tuition for my kids (if i ever have em), health insurance and a 401K. At 32, I think the benefits out weight the pay, especially since I have no bills at all. i was expecting to be jobless for the next two years so i paid off all my bills. Gas, car insurance, food and cell phone are the only bills I have, which are never going away. I figure I take it because it's my foot in the door and it puts me in closer touch with people that could connect me with being an adjunct college professor. Being an adjunct professor was my goal after I got my masters degree while working at my old job. Now I can work both jobs in the same place. Things are on the up and up. Now I just have to make my tattoo appointment for my back project. Once I start getting paid and I save up for 2 months, I will hit up my man to start. Good things come to those who wait is definitely true in my book.
