Finally got some color in yesterday :)

@graybones Thank you! They're based partly on Chinese depictions of lucky bats (also why there's five) which are very pretty and playful, for that very reason! I adore bats, and when I see them it makes me happy, but didn't want realism or the more angular, sharp look of a traditional Western depiction. I had also given my artist some Art Nouveau pieces in the giant file of inspiration, and she makes lovely peonies, so this is what happened. :)

I'm not to proud to say I lived in bikini tops and going braless while home while healing my back. I've only had line work done, but damn, healing it wasn't all that fun. I wear multiple layers at work daily (including thick coveralls) so healing blew. But bikini tops- I love you.
Oh, and ladies, I haven't posted a photo here. But here's the start to my shoulders to knees backpiece. Weee. Next sit in three weeks to finish lining my butt and thighs.

Upper inside of the arm tonight. Feels like burning. With Greg Whitehead, as usual! A fun panther-leopard with a Tibetan shell.

Starting to close in on it with this arm. Room for two modest/smallish pieces and then just filler after that. Crazy.

Somehow, beautiful, delicate, feminine tattoos are quite bad-ass.

..especially when they have bats in them!

show is bumming me out lately - i power watched the first four seasons this summer and this rivals thing just has come up lame for me - i will still watch though - ha - its a family affair - my kids love it and wife too - so its fun
but yeah the drama being the focal point is too bad
more ink - less nonsense would be better
would rather see them do a weekly profile of a contestant - showing footage and work and interviews - i dont know - anything but that ultra contrived couch talk setup where they film what seems to be a pretty scripted drama fest

Had a few hours on my back yesterday. Worked on background was a good session, everyone at Sugarahack is so friendly.
I had a chance to listen to the first couple episodes of the serial podcast too, I'll admit , I'm hooked. Listened to a few more on the drive home.
Back at it again end of January bring down the left side and hopefully move below the waist.
See how it goes. I'll say it every time, the love handle area is killer.

Chipped away a few more hours on my back. I think we're pretty much done the black shading, I think there's some greys to do in the water still, we still have to figure out the scales or patterns on the snake, but we're making progress.

Re: latex allergies - SOMETIMES people are allergic to the chemicals that are used to preserve the latex and not the latex itself. So, you can be allergic to latex and not have any of the cross-reactive fruit allergies. I used to have a fantastic document on this aspect of latex allergies, but lost it in a computer crash :(
@ironchef - how are you doing today?

Banana is another one of those latex cross-reactive fruits. I get itchy mouth when I eat avocado or banana.
Which doesn't help you @ironchef, sorry. My hubs' skin gets irritated sometimes where clothing tags or linings touch him--those "no-tag" Hanes undershirts were the worst, because you can't cut those off--but usually as long as we use a dye and perfume-free detergent and softener, he's okay. It does flare up sometimes out of nowhere, though.

Just finished up my second session with THooper on Monday. Have some serious crankle action going on today. Next booked for 2 days in a row in early Feb. Wife also got her 1st tattoo started yesterday, with Joey Ortega. They'll also finish up this one in Feb:

As usual this thread has blown my mind with the awesomeness that LSTer's choose to get...

Nearly finished the anemone and shading and side corals, and shadows along the bottom. The red is the huge bruise already starting. The clownfish were already there, and the crab first pass was from the last session.
I am so amazed at how this is all turning out! Two more session until we're done!

Molly wrote me!!! Excited!!! After some chatting about a recent order mix-up and that I've been a loyal customer (read: Monmon Cat addiction), she told me that Horitomo's schedule had opened up due to cancelled travel plans and she offered me a sooner spot!!!

I'm not even that far away, might have to make a trip south next summer :) @Pugilist It does make sense, I think one views almost everything differently when one becomes aware of...well, how the world is at the moment and maybe how one would like to see it changed. And Virginia Elwoods art is insane, thanks for informing about her.
