  1. I'm suprised that the contest is coming back at this point as it seems like activity is down quite a bit and the thread activity that is attended to has some real dumbass content - anyway - i'd say no on a theme like fillers - too hard to decide what filler is - to me filler is when really heavily tattooed folks get small tattoos to 'fill' the gaps - how many heavily tattooed people are still on this board - just my two cents
  2. Greg Whitehead's tattoo are amazing - homeruns daily
  3. i always find it funny that people need to fix bad tattoos - why? just get more (better tattoos) - nothing needs fixing or covering or filling in - just get good tattoos so you have traingles on your forearms - who cares - you get yourself some good tattoos on your forearms and you'll look back on those triangles as a marker in time - good or bad anyway - you obviously know how to pick good designs and tattooers as I'm diggin your bicep bird so now move forward and get more tattoos like that...then keep doing that
  4. check where you are - its right on the home page: Welcome to Last Sparrow Tattoo The mission of this website is to help preserve the craft of GOOD tattooing and to serve as an educational resource for those who want to learn the difference between good and bad tattoos. There are more bad than good tattoo artists out there, so it is more important than ever to do your research before getting tattooed.
  5. 1st tattoo lion on the ribs! doing it right
  6. go to great lakes tattoo and kick around some ideas with those guys you cant go wrong
  7. @66pens87 absolutely wouldnt worry about those lines at all - way too many people hyperfocus on details like that instead of the impact of the image and how it hits you in the gut
  8. i never understood why somene would get bummed out if someone else had the same tattoo - i have a sailor jerry octopus and a basic pharoahs horses tattoo that you can find in any shop and probably tattooed on many many folks - but...who cares
  9. Boltz is great - Smith is about an hour from central jersey - less from north jersey depending on your traffic of course
  10. Nothing wrong with small tattoos...backpiece goals
  11. Can we see your tattoos Charlie? you been at it since 97
  12. there are good shops in northern jersey - I've been to Immortal in Clinton - got tattooed by Jamie Sawyer twice - shes great - and there are many great artists at the shops two locations in northern NJ but...if we are talking traditional tattoos - you still have many options - I obviously love Electric Tattoo and have been tattooed many times there by Rob Ryan and Sheila Marcello - they're both awesome - all the artists there crush traditional daily - the shop is in Asbury Park which is in Central Jersey - btw - it doesnt hurt to have the beergarten right next door i'd also throw neptune tattoo in the mix - which is just a coupe miles away in Neptune NJ - Chris Smith would be my choice there but again - amazing shop amazing artist - they crush traditional in you are in NJ dont forget that you have great artists in NY and Philly who do amazing traditional In Brooklyn Smith Street is as good as it gets in my opinion for traditional and in Philly Olde City is top notch
  13. @sister123 yeah to a certain degree i agree - i mean whatever floats your boat right - i just say personally i dont like microscipt tattoos - just me personally - and i will say i like most tattoos - i guess the thing that moves me towards disliking a tattoo is when the readability becomes an issue - which it definitely does when it comes to microscript pieces
  14. sure thing - i look forward to your contributions as you seek to boost your post count
  15. @Charles.M just playing man - but listen - you're new to the forum and jumping in and giving medical advice about laser treatment - cmon brotha - you're opening yourself up for a little jab - anyway - its a great site - check out the interviews - check out the latest lowdown thread - laser...meh - not so much a big topic here my man
  16. he's not a doctor...but he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night
  17. not a fan of small tattoos unless you're covered in tattoos and you're getting fun filler type of stuff i really dislike small script tattoos but - that stuff is popular and i think because there is definetly clusters of people that want to have a tattoo buuuuuuuuuuut...not really and i guess i'm just not a fan of that
  18. On the subject of what tattoos are supposed to be i think rob ryan said it as good as you can say it in 3 minutes enjoy
