When I worked for a printing company, we'd proof their art, but gently ask if the spelling was correct. Marketing departments sometimes play with spelling, so we were never 100% sure if it was a mistake or not. If we didn't ask, the claim was usually going to fall on us.
I work in print (as the customer of the printed material) too, and although we ask them to check, the responsibility ultimately lies on us to get it right, as far as what is desired. That's the point of getting a proof, after all. As far as tattoos, it's your (collective your) body, you're going to own it, so you should take the responsibility for it being as you want it. The stencil is your "proof".

I would wait until you find what you're looking for. There's no rush to get a tattoo. Other people aren't going to find it for you. You'll probably "find" it, when you're not looking for it, trying too hard can have the opposite effect than what you expect.
Patience.

Crappy photo, but just got this done at Kings Ave. this Sat. - by Phil Slzosek.

For something like that, i'd wait a few years, and if it still "resonates" with you, then get it. You'd be surprised how what you think you love at 18 will change and that's a lot of real estate to regret on.
I'd probably have METALLICA scrawled across my back if i went big at 18 and would have regretted it by 25.
However, that's just my opinion and YMMV. :D

5 cats, and we just lost our dog a few months ago. Looking for an appropriate rescue to fill our dog jonesing. All the below are rescues, most right off the street.

Trolls are okay, but please don't start a My Little Pony thread. Creeps me out.

Grado phones are awesome. I've got SR325's (the old gold ones, not the new silver one)

Yesterday I got my leg touched up by Rose Hardy while she is in town and then spur of the moment booked with Grez this summer to fill out the rest of my arm. Excited doesn't even come close to how I feel right now :)
Nice. I just got a gift certificate to KA for Christmas and i'm hoping to get skullsskullsskulls from him.

I don't do repair or anything, but i've got a small collection of older stuff - a Nakamichi tape deck circa mid 80's, a Marantz receiver from the early 90's and an old Bang & Olufsen turntable, late 70's (no needle on it anymore).

I'd have started sooner so i'd have more now. :D

A coworker once asked me: "aren't you afraid of what will happen in hell?" I asked for some clarification on this and he said " I was taught that what you have tattooed on you will be what you're tortured by in hell".
Wow. Just.... wow. So i'll be tortured by a cat, a fox, disembodied wings, two birds and a baby devil in diapers. Interesting.
So alot of peeps are going to get tortured by Jesus!

"Does your mother know you have those?" (I'm 47 years old btw)
Answer: "My mother's dead ma'am. Her skull is on my back." (not really, but i felt like messing with her) :D

I don't think about balance at all.
When i get an idea, i think about where it would work best and look good, within my own limitations of available space (im not getting hands, feet, neck, head tattooed) That's about it.
Right now, i've got a bunch on my right leg and none on my left. Just the way its worked out. I don't lean to one side either. :p

Hanging out near reputable shops in NYC and wondering if the tattooed people you are on the street are fellow LSTers... Lol

Just finished my thigh with Rose Hardy. She is excellent and every one in the shop said its their favorite of hers :)
Every time I go to Kings Ave I'm reminded how amazing a shop it is. Every one there rules. Love love love. Can't wait for the next tattoo!
My favorite place. Love those guys. Last time i was there, in April, i sat down in the chair and turned to my left right into the staring eyes of Oliver Peck.

Who did you get that from?I was also at that convention. I worked Friday and Sunday.
I also managed to get tattooed as well. I asked Mike Schweigert to cover up something I've had for awhile on the top of my forearm. It's in the middle of the flaking process right now, but I will post when it is healed.
I've met Mike once or twice before but never had a conversation with him. He's fast, solid and did a great job.
It was almost like being tattooed for the first time again and it meant that much more.
Joel Brewer. Last appt of Saturday night. Super nice guy. And i got to watch the suspension show while he was working.

I couldn't believe so few people know what it is when asked by friends.
