  1. I blame Troy Denning for leading me into the dark world of So Tatted Boyz via his Instagram Tatted shit indeed:
  2. Hello, One of the first series of videos I saw, in fact, the series of videos that lead me here were posted by Jeff Gogue from his guest spot at Yellow Blaze in Yokohama a while back. Has some cool tattoos (skulls, Venetian Mask, etc.) by Jeff, a close look at some of Shige's clients full body tattoos, specifically on Tomo (apprentice) and Juichimen Kannon (client), and start of Jeff Gogue's backpiece by Shige. I personally was taken aback at seeing those two tattoos 'LIVE' rather the just photographed, but I'm a newbie. Also, a cool sense of being in Japan: dining out, visiting gardens/temples, fancy toilets, etc. Did a search and didn't see that anyone had posted them, so thought I would, in case anyone missed them. *Please let me know if it's not cool to post these as embeds, or better to have them posted as links, will make corrections, if needed.
  3. TLC Premieres Tattoo School July 14 On Thursday, July 14 at 9pm, TLC will air "Tattoo School". Award-winning Tattoo Artist Lisa Fasulo runs a hands-on and unconventional tattoo school in upstate NY where students from all walks of life learn how to tattoo in just two weeks. These rookie students are seeking to change their lives through tattooing. With just two intense weeks under Lisa's instruction, they will get the experience tattooing on body after body with artwork of varying levels of difficulty. Rookie students, models risking their skin to first time body artists, a rebellious instructor and unconventional training...who will bear the drama of competition and survive? Read more: TLC Premieres Tattoo School July 14 Indeed, who WILL survive? Because I might just shoot myself if this airs.
  4. Now Casting Spike TV's Ink Master Season 2 in NYC! Here it is guys! Our chance to become an INK MASTER! I am not surprised seeing this advertised on Craigslist. Those producers probably don't even know what type of real talent exists.
  5. found this interesting while visiting tims hendricks blog Saltwatertattoo
  6. Thoughts? Official Ink Master Series Trailer | Free Video Clips | SPIKE It´s not going to be the new Tattoo Age or Gipsy Gentleman, that´s for sure. Something tells me that the focus is going to be more on scripted drama rather than the tattoos, at least judging from the trailer. Oliver Peck is in it though :)
  7. I have been recently noticed something, that on TV tattoos seem to be everywhere. This might also due to the fact I never had cable TV for the last 5-6 years but it is kinda crazy to me. Aside from the obvious "Inks" shows and Inkmasters, there are a ton of moderate to heavily tattooed people on TV as of late. This is especially prevelant on the channels owned by Discovery Communications (TLC, etc). I just find it strange that a few years ago only the bad guys in movies had tattoos, now they have non-celebrity TV show hosts that have some decent coverage (even pentagram hand tattoos and head tattoos). And yea TLC sucks with their tattoo school (which seems to be cancelled, thank god!), but just interesting all the same.
  8. Just curious about the general LST'ers think about this....Top Chef/Project Runway for tattooers? Not too sure what my opinion is yet..peep the trailer on Spike's website..First thing that I thought was odd was the fact that several of the "contestants" already are well " established", and own shops ,and put out books and CD-ROMS and all that jazz..
  9. Presented by a gentleman named Maxime Buchi who appears to be the person that wears the Filip Leu bodysuit with Thomas Hooper accents... The Leu Family's Family Iron The Leu Family's Family Iron I wasn't personally aware of his publications, though I'm sure some of you might be...
  10. Hello, I found this pretty cool stop motion video in three parts on youtube for a half sleeve 'nerd' tattoo described as follows: *I didn't want to just do a one-off thread, so thought to just title it 'Tattoos on Video' so other people might want to post similar videos, if they like. I am not sure, but I do not think it has any real 'how-to' applications to it. If so, apologies and please feel free to remove.
  11. Via Cris Cleen. Extra points for the Dragon Mike/ Tiger John reference, placing him in Houston at some point Really more of a park tattoo than a prison tattoo though.
  12. This movie has been coming up in many conversations lately (deep thoughts, I know) and as this is one of my all time faves, I love hearing peoples favorite lines from this movie. I find that the line "Our pets heads are falling off!" is a fitting response to many questions. Does anyone else find themselves quoting this movie often?
  13. Barbie Doll

Seinfeld- The Complete Series is so iconic, I cant imagine that many of you do not have a favorite episode. So let's hear it. What is your favorite Seinfeld episode or, if necessary (and totally understandable), episodes? One of my favorites is the jerk store episode. "The jerk store called and they're running out of you!" Another favorite is when Elaine sleeps on the couch at Jerry's parents house and hurts her back. She is all drugged up at the awards dinner and yells, Stella! Shit I just thought of 3 other "favorite" episodes...

  15. Tonight I was looking around the various pages/links we have under the LST Preferred Tattoo Professionals and enjoyed them all as I always try to visit these various pages to see what's going down around the world regularly. But the one I must share tonight is Luke Wessman's who is always doing awesome tattoos but also maybe because I am getting ready to head south for sometime and am dreaming of better days with money to get tattooed but stuck looking at pictures because if I had the paper I would be getting tattooed by him while down there! Below are two recent pictures he posted plus I found this little bit he wrote on Scott so it became even more relevant for the site. Any LSTers have any of his tattoos and pictures? Hope you enjoy not only the below but his site and tattoos as much as I often do....
  16. Just watched an awesome documentary on beer. If you guys enjoy the beer from micro-breweries and small, independent companies, this you have to watch! It goes over how budweiser, coors, and miller are the corporate behemoths taking over and trying to consume what micro-breweries have been doing, and how they control a huge part of the market. These 3 corporate companies make up over 90% of the market, and try to put smaller breweries out of business. I for one hate the way that beer tastes, and never did support it. It was really funny to see the people that have no clue on what a real beer should taste like, or educated enough to consider that "being a bud guy" makes you a stamp of their advertising. Anyways, here is a description of Beer Wars. Beer Wars is a 2009 documentary film about the American beer industry. In particular, it covers the differences between large corporate breweries, namely Anheuser-Busch, the Miller Brewing Company, and the Coors Brewing Company opposed to smaller breweries like Dogfish Head Brewery, Stone Brewery and other producers of craft beer. Also covered is how advertising and lobbyists are used to control the beer market, implying that these things harm competition and consumer choice. Throughout the film there is a theme that the smallest breweries have next to no chance to compete due to the sheer volume of advertising and outdated beer distribution laws. The original laws demanded a three tier system to separate the powers of selling beer. The law demands that the beer brewer cannot deliver directly to the retailer, supposedly creating a separation of powers resembling the US government's congress, judicial, and executive branches. The film claims these laws are now inhibiting growth of smaller brewers and therefore allowing the largest brewers (Coors, Anheuser-Busch, and Miller) to maintain a monopoly on beer. The film was written, produced, narrated, and directed by Anat Baron, former head of Mike's Hard Lemonade. This is on Netflix.
  17. So I know the thread Cable Invasion was started around the rumors of a new tattoo TV show in New York and since it has kind of been announced that it is true I thought I would start a thread for discussion. Below is one of the few things in the press about this new show for those interested. I have heard things in other arenas from various people but don't want to be the one to bring it to the surface, however, if those who are on this tattoo forum want to share what they know have at it. There are/is some tattooers on this forum that will be on it and I think the tattoos that come from these individuals will continue to be impressive. From my understanding one of the big beefs with this show are the misconceptions around tattooing, tattooers, and tattoo shops that are portrayed to potential tattoo customers. Some of this has been discussed in the Good Tattoo Customer Behavior thread and elsewhere on our tattoo forum. One of my favorite quotes which if anyone knows anything about the previous tattoo shows on TLC and elsewhere comes from Tim Hendricks in that thread who has been on the show(s). It seems to have fallen through the cracks as no one commented on it so here it is again if you missed it, .With that have at it.... -Your thoughts? -Have you been tattooed on any of these tattoo shows? What was you experience? Note: this could get interesting as many don't know about the tattooers shown on the show and those behind the scenes..... -Have you tattooed on these shows? What was your experience? -Do you watch these tattoo TV shows? Favorite and/or least favorite parts? -and whatever else you feel like weighing in on -If you could do your own tattoo tv show/ docu-series how would you do it? Here is one of the few press articles out there on the new NY Ink show by the New York Post:
  18. Heard today from a friend that he was asked to try out for "New York Ink." I don't know if this is a new thing that they've tried before in NYC.. maybe everyone could make some sort of cable tv death pact or something.
  19. I've seen this movie four times now, and Im still figuring stuff out. It seems like every time I watch it I get a new idea about how the movie is not only progressing, but figuring out wither he is constantly in a dream, or if there are parts of TRUE reality. My first round with this bastard I was a little drunk, so my ideas were nothing more than a Jameson induced delirium. My second round I noticed that the music plays a huge part in the movie. The tone, and song changes to fit wither he is doing his dream thing, or when he is (or believes) he is in reality. The last two times is when I came up with the idea that he had been dreaming the whole time since he was using his wife's Talisman. What does everyone else think? I just bought it, and am interested in hearing what other people thought.
  20. How random is this.. Here's the full story: Mel Gibson to play tattoo artist in "Hangover 2" Some reporters are saying that it could save his career the same way the first one helped out Mike Tyson's public image..
  21. Kat Von D's California home destroyed by fire Celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D is mourning the death of her beloved cat and the loss of her life's possessions after her California home was destroyed by a fire on Sunday night. The "L.A. Ink" star, who is dating Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James, logged on to her Twitter account on Monday to share the devastating news. Posting a photo of the feline, she wrote, "my house burned down last night with my cat inside... R.I.P Valentine, you will be missed." As WENN went to press, Von D had not shed details on what caused the fire or if she had been home during the incident.
