I just check out some of Mav's work on their website very good stuff.

Mav Mess at Deluxe Tattoo, Portland Oregon, a devout christian and a great tattooer and only one state away from you.
I appreciate the response I am planning on going to Portland for my next tattoo I was leading towards Dan Gilsdorf if it works out.
-
Is it different in the East? And are you talking western United States or Western Hemisphere?
-
I appreciate the responses. It was more of a curiosity it doesn't matter as long as the artist can do a good job at what the client wants.

Woodinville whiskey company in Washington State is good they have a Whit Dog whiskey and an aged one. They use all organic ingredients and learned from Dave Pickerell from Makers Mark.

I suspect that it has to do with paying fees to credit card companies. I have been to a cash only shop and also to one which accepts a credit or debit card.

I was wondering if someone had a black and gray tattoo already on the top right quarter of the back, and got a colored tattoo on the other quarter would that look weird in peoples opinions?

Dan Rick! After seeing his Rock of Ages tattoo in that thread I was amazed.

I discovered this forum somewhat recently. I have really enjoyed it and I guess I should have filled this out before. I have a couple of tattoos, I hope to get more. I enjoy all of the interviews on here, reading stories and seeing pictures. This seems like a great community where open discussions between tattoo artists and collectors and fans can discuss things and learn. Happy to be a member of this place.

I saw that Rock of Ages on Chris Stuart's facebook and it is amazing!

Check out Ace Custom. Rodney Raines, Chris Stuart and crew seem legit to me.

Rogue Dead Guy is a good beer. But you know what is better Double Dead Guy or Dead Guy aged in Whiskey Barrels. I take a trip to the Rogue Brewery at least once a year and they have three brew pubs in Portland. At their brewery (about two hours away)on the ocean they have two bedroom apartments with full kitchen and washer dryer you can rent out for the night for like $100 and I try to go at least once a year for two days.
Yeah Rouge is good stuff. I like most of there stuff. Oregon has some awesome microbreweries. Rogue, Full Sail, Deschutes brewery.
Mac and Jacks is also really good stuff, Boundary Bay is a good local brewery/.

I appreciate the suggestions!

Chris O'Donnell, Rodney Raines. How far out do the appointment books go in the future? Does it depend on artist or shop? I am also wondering, I know some artist post it on their websites but when is an appropriate time to talk about price or estimated time involved.

Hey I was wondering what is the best way to contact an artist as a prospective client by phone, email or another way? I have attempted to get a hold of a few artists to see if they would be willing to take me on as a client in the future. So far I haven't gotten any replies.
I am trying to save and figure out logistics involved like scheduling vacation, plane tickets etc. I guess I am looking for suggestions. I know some of the artists I have contacted are really busy. I figured that email would be a safe bet as I feel a little dumb calling and taking to someone about a future tattoo. I would like to get an idea if the artist is willing to work with me and the rate so I can start to get a ball park idea of hours and cost involved. Looking for opinions thanks.
