What about a matchy matchy short sleeve on the other arm? Volcano, rocks and finger waves made of fire?
The other arm isn't available.. LOL

Maybe.Waves with white caps, around a big rock.

Def like the finger waves.. maybe the rock/land can have lava pouring into it. hmm...

Rocks and water work well together in the Japanese style. Traditionally backgrounds are in black and gray but maybe you could do something with color -- red and blue?
Thanks DJ.. Have you ever seen lava in japanese style?

Any thoughts on this? TIA!!

I posted this on another thread, but realized I should have posted it here.. (sorry, newbie excitement).
The current tattoo is a yin yang with a dragon and tiger surrounding it (see below). This is just a shoulder tattoo that I want to extend to a 3/4 sleeve. We are going to Hawaii, and I have an appointment in Hilo while I'm there. I want to continue the Yin yang them, and keep in Japanese style while incorporating something from the big island. I'm thinking lava/ocean. Problem is, I haven't seen anything like this in a Japanese style, so not sure how it would look.
Any thoughts? I will of course, work with my artist once I get there, but would love to have something on paper to get us started.
Thanks!

Hey All,
Just found this site and decided to join. I'm really into Japanese tattoos and currently have a buddha half sleeve and a full sleeve on the works of a koi and Kapala. From Edmonton so if there are anymore tattoo junkies here let me know! :)
I'm new here too. Welcome aboard and show us your half sleeve! :-)

New season gearing up. I saw a couple of examples of the 'art' on Facebook. Some of it was just too awful. Apparently there is a spinoff which will allow people who got those abominations get them fixed. How bad is that when you have a show planned to fix the shit tattooed by some of the 'best tattooers in America?'
What is REALLY fucked up is that I watch that crap!!!!
Ditto, the whole family here watches as well!

Thanks! I'm in the Bay Area as well!
