I've been working my way towards tattooing for a long time now. Growing up I wanted to be a cartoonist, that changed when my sister came home with a little tribal monkey tattooed on her leg and started bringing home tattoo magazines. I started in the shop I'm in now about five or six years ago, running errands, cleaning up, doing paperwork, etc. After a year or so of that, I'd been told that I'd earned a spot piercing if I wanted it. I figured it was a way to get my foot in the door, so I took it. After a couple years of piercing, and drawing and painting in between, I was offered a tattoo apprenticeship. I've been tattooing for almost two years now. It only took me 19 years to get here after seeing that little tribal monkey tattoo.
