  1. Thanks, yeah. The more I look at it, it's growing on me. At the same rate, the more you get the less each stand out! Lol
  2. Helmet is a little warped in the photo.
  3. I got a new one done yesterday. Thought, in my opinion, it is done extremely well, I'm not super excited about it not looking like what I wanted, upon going in. I brought more of a neo traditional reference to my traditional artist, so he made changes putting his twist on things. Any of you ever, I'm sure it happens, get some work done and come out like... Ehhh, should have thought this through a little more!?
  4. Just curious on the perception. The hyper-realism b/g style that has become really popular in the past couple years, what's the longterm healed going to leave you with? I know there is more technology in the inks to stay, but will the lughter shading hold 20 years, and still be readable? Sry if this has been covered. Couldn't find anything
  5. Thanks! Yeah, I've been getting a consistent response to drop the flowers off the bottom. I'll probably go that route. It was done by Daniel Mesen at Black Torch in Baton Rouge, LA I'll probably be going back to him for any of my traditional work.
  6. So still messing around with the concept, kinda where im at. Wasn't a fan of having so much floral. So lost the rose on the helmet. Not sold on the star.. Thoughts???
  7. Cool deal. Pretty sure a variation of this is up next
  8. hey, im going through the "i just got my first tattoo overthought" phase. I just wanted some input. i know the common response will be, EFF them, do whatever you want. but none the less, its whats stuck in my head. i know lower leg tattoos are about substantially less common than arm and upper body. any idea as to why? i like my tattoo and its location. is it odd that i only have on my leg? i know i cant just come out the gate with several, gotta start somewhere. i have the detrimental WAITING LIST to have my upper arm done... i guess just looking for a little reassurance from the online community. planning to keep the leg traditional style... It's 6 days old. Healing very well

    hey!

Hey, it's a staple that never gets old. IMO. If it's worked this long don't fix it. I think us rookies are limited in our creativity... I'll be keeping my leg the "traditional" look

    hey!

Well, I abandoned that idea. Pretty much all together, after more thought. Ended up going get one yesterday on my lower leg. I think it came out well. Photo is a little bit of a bloody mess, but ya get the picture

    hey!

reviving my initiation post.... ive been playing around with the concepts of what ive got in my head. just wanted to get a little feedback on where i am. ive got myself on a wait list, which is about 10 months out.... pending a cancellation opening. none the less, what ya think....

    hey!

submitted an idea to the artist, which included some mechanical elements. he offered to do just the portrait, but i think that looks a little empty imo. so trying to figure out some elements he would be good with doing. giving him more or less creative freedom within the style i want to go with.... just waiting for a reply. is it too wishywashy of me to tell him to come up with something? i have a general idea of what i like, but to me its more about the artwork than the elements included. i'm new to all this but dont want to come across that way. i know alot of first timers have unrealistic expectations of elements to be included, im kinda, yeah whatever looks good....

    hey!

ive decided on going with Jay Quarles from Black 13 in Nashville. he's the most accessible for me, beings ive got friends in that area, so travel arrangements are a little easier. appreciate all the input. He's booked about 10 months out, but told me he gets about 4-7 cancellations a month, so its plausible to get in much sooner. i think hes pretty solid and concise in his application, detailed but not over the top thatll disappear later down the road.

    hey!

I contacted @shark_hudson to see if he could provide ant reference of a female face just to get an idea of how he handles human anatomy. Sent me this, I think it's done well. I know things soften and smooth out in B/G as they heal

    hey!

Considering starting things off similar to the stencil attached. Minus the clown additions. Would the two photo references be sufficient to use. I dont want it done as a "portrait" but would like some similarly to the wife's photos. Thanks in advance

    hey!

I'm good with traveling. I'm just south of New Orleans. I'm good with a few hours (max 4-5hr). Something I can travel there and back in the same day.

    hey!

im considering the smooth b/g style, realism look, not really into heavy linework. i ultimately intend to end up with a single sleeve. i appreciate the large single designs that cover a large area. but for me, i prefer going with several elements to cover my arm. is it better to progress with something like this from the shoulder down, or just go with your larger main pieces and fill in the gaps over time? i intend to use one artist for the whole thing, once i find a b/g in this area im good with.. suggestions???
