So you order a pizza and breadsticks from Pizzaman and when it arrives you find theyve only sent you breadsticks.
well youve already paid for the order and you call Pizzaman and tell them.
They say too bad---no pizza for you and we're keeping your $.
Most people will agree that the damage that you have suffered at the hands of Pizzaman is not worthy of a large monetary award, however if Pizzaman knows that they can continue sending out incomplete orders without being held responsible - they might.
So punitive damages or the threat of them is often enough to keep Pizzaman straight and honest.

Well I actually somewhat agree with the guy.
If he picked up a hooker on the street then what can you do , but if he called what is supposed to be or is attempting to be a legitimate business -then he should get what he is charged for.

Isn't her hand on backwards?

For years I was often the most, if not only tattooed woman in my community.
I went back to school when I was 24 and it got pretty tiring hearing myself referred to as the tattoo lady.
My husband was an NCO in the army and we lived on military bases through the late 90s so I think doing tattoos and being tattooed people had a lot of preconceived notions and were surprised that a had a lovely home and happy ,healthy children.
I think people still have some prejudices but now that tattoos are more mainstream- now with the negative comments and opinions ( that people feel compelled to share with me) there's also the positive comments.
People rarely ask me about or talk to me about tattoos , which I'm pretty pleased about.

I'm terrible, I'm just not a hoarder and often wind up tossing the cards I collect at conventions.):

Pretty sad. We've had dozens of people ask about doing a guest spot here in Alaska and we joke that
there isn't a person that could draw people in here other than her.
She lost me when she stated that she'd be hard pressed to find even a few good women tattooists.

I dont think i ever have --oh, except on a husband. jk
i've been asked --- but i have also declined.

I agree and I'm not fond of any cosmetic tattoo results unless very subtle and natural, however sometimes the total absence of pigment can be such a stark difference that the cosmetic results of tattooing a small area can give very positive results.

Is she getting tattooed to mask or cover the area that has no pigment? or does she want a tattoo and just happens to have vitiligo?
I have seen where someone has been tattooed ( in a shade similar to their own pigmented skin) Pretty successfully.
Works fairly well with brown skinned people.
I recently tattooed a lady who had massive pigment loss after a hormonal change during pregnancy. I did her tattoo as i would any other and it healed like any other.

One of my customers decided she wanted to be a tattooer, later in life (close to 40) She went outside, to Oregon - to tattoo school or the like---her parents opened a shop for her here in Alaska.
She got the side of her face done with squiggles and flowers and has shaved her head and gotten it and her forehead done with a spiderwebs and roses.
In my opinion, this girl WAS super pretty----Beside the fact that the work is poorly done and not well placed -to me it just screams "look at me, i'm serious about this tattoo business , so serious that I got my whole beautiful face done!
I'm not a fan for the most part-- of facial tattoos.
-
what about a heavily tattooed person who regularly sees a LCSW?
Just kidding
i'll hang on my shop's bulletin board.

I agree Mario!

Thanks for sharing!
I remember visiting your shop in 1979
That was quite the area.
I caught a ride with a Santerian priest - who was in a bike club out of Haledon--- all the way to Fla.

Well, i've been arrested ---- for being in an illegal tattoo shop. (Underground)
Started tattooing pre gloves and single use set ups.
Worked for a man who did a lot of coke and became paranoid and wanted to booby trap the drop box.
Who considered selling his shop to 1%s ---but they'd get me as part of the deal.
Worked for a man who liked to cause dissent amongst the ranks lest he have a mutiny--- and one of the employees shot another 4 x at a shop meeting on a payday weekend - outside of a military base.
After being questioned by the police- with one tattooist in the hospital and one on the lamb- we all went back to work
One boss didn't have a mirror in the bathroom to discourage certain hygiene practices and didn't like female tattooists cause we use too much toilet paper.
And racial slurs and issues? don't even get me started ---having worked in the south for years.

You know my husband Don and I worked for Larry Allen from2001-2008.
Larry apprenticed with Cliff about 35-40 years ago. He's retired now but i'll ask if he has many or any photos of Cliff's work to share.
Larry's work was in one of the old Tattoo Times and his picture was that great photo on the back or inside back cover of Spider Webb"s Pushing Ink --- He holding his baby son. It's a classic.

this is lovely!

when I first started tattooing a lady came to me with a terrible photo of a man- in the distance , behind a kitchen table.
She wanted a portrait of him.
Well, I did it to the best of my limited ability - which at the time was really limited.
When it was done, she looked at it in the mirror and said " I hope my husband doesn't recognize him!"

Though I certainly like a beautiful tattoo, for me it is more about the person that does it ( and that can go either way) a great person doing a mediocre tattoo means more to me than the reverse.
I wish I had gotten tattooed by my dear friend and mentor Paul Rogers. I was honored to have tattooed him, but in retrospect I wish it had been the other way around.

I think it definitely depends on the under 18 year old. Who they are and what they get.
Are the children more mature in lets say Kentucky than in California? Probably not. So it becomes more of a legal question than a moral issue.
I have 5 children. Three of whom were tattooed before they reached 18 years old.
So yes I would.

Thanks for sharing Nick

I worked and lived in Daytona For over ten years
--There's no glamour and no matriarchs in the outlaw biker culture.

Don't hate it--- but definitely NOT a fan.
So unrealistic.

I used to know a tattooer who said he thought all "heavily" tattooed people
who were not tattooers- were mentally ill!
I don't know that I agreed with him then, but sometimes when I see people (who aren't tattooers) who have their faces done- I find myself wondering if they are really committed to tattoos or should just be committed.
I used to work for a guy F.E.Craig, he was totally covered except for his face.
One day he called me to say that he wanted me to do his face like the "Rolling Stone" Tattoo You album cover. This was in the 80s! I refused and told him to fire me but I wasn't going to do it.
I still wouldn't do it, and as far as I know, when he died he still didn't have his face tattooed.

Escort services are legal, accepted and advertised in most of Nevada.
They are advertised in the phonebook, they accept credit cards, there are reality shows about them.
Of course if the service was operating illegally then the guy is sol
but if it was a legitimate service then he should at least get what he payed for and perhaps his money back for the trouble
