  1. I'm going with Phil from Kingsave. He can't be more than 25. super talented!!
  2. Honestly don't know.. The thing I do know is plasma shouldn't be a problem after the first 24 hours.. That is just my experiences. I've never had plasma for more than 24 hours or so.. good luck
  3. Hi well when I use it I wait until the next morning to put it on. Until then I rewrap it ..That way you will not get all that buildup of plasma.. You may get some but nothing major. - - - Updated - - - also when i put it on I don't change it at all.. leave on for 3 days.
  4. Just finished last night! Chris Garver , Invisible NYC Timeless tattoos Rock!!
  5. Yup!! Haha!! No just spreading the word! Just trying to help .. I wish they would hook me up with some kickback for all this P.R!! Haha
  6. Actually on my side piece I didn't use Tegaderm and it did heal decent. I did need several touch ups between session.. no big deal. On my panther I didn't use it and did develop scabs so I decided to go with Tegaderm again and it went super well! As long as you follow some simple rules. Anyway @peters67bird I wouldn't worry too much as long as you don't pick at the scabs. That was another problem when I didn't use the tegaderm. Tegaderm makes your peelings super soft like a sunburn peels. When I didn't use it I peeled super rough . The peelings would catch on my pants or boxers and couple of scabs fell off unnaturally.. Anyways I know many old school tattooers will be like nah don't use it but that is because this product isn't widely used yet. Just an update on my last session healing super smooth again.. Absolutely no scabs and I peeled completely after 7 days. Now I'm in the onion peel stage . I usually heal a couple of days past two weeks. - - - Updated - - - oh I found out that if you are super hairy and shaving irritates your skin this product may suck for those super hairy areas! Then again I guess it depends how thick your hair is etc..
  7. No not really whoever is cheapest! If they have a good rating! They are individually packaged and sealed so I don't see why it would be a problem. Yeah you will see that it will take an extra few days or so then normal to completely heal but it's worth it in many ways. Especially no scabs and super easy aftercare!!! There are a lot of people who don't want to use this but they will jump on the wagon soon enough !! Haha
  8. I hear you but my packages were sealed plus the individual pieces are wrapped . Anyways happy to hear it's going well!!
  9. Hahaha! I'm the one who gave those to garver! I'm happy to see he's giving them out and spreading the word. @slayer9019 buy them from ebay. I found it to be the cheapest site. I usually pick up the 4X4 size. I think 50 sheets is like 25 dollars. @Bigboy67 the healing is going well ? I see that most of the peeling is gone and it just looks kinda dry. Far from the scaly peeling which i usually get from regular aftercare.
  10. My cobra tattoo I got which was a decent size (full ribs). It worked out fine.. I did get the pooling of fluids thats why I suggest putting it on the morning after. - - - Updated - - - awesome!! Looks like it worked out fine. Yeah that redness will go away soon. I start peeling really fast after then usually finish the heavy peeling in the first week or so. Then it's just a little dry. Yeah absolutely no scabs and the flakes or dead skin isn't so rough.
  11. I agree if you are unsure about it follow your tattoo artist !! I always state I'm not a professional and these cases are from "my experiences" ! From my experience it's an amazing product! Aquaphor is used in all the shops i've been tattooed at. As long as you don't over use it it's perfectly fine. Of course it's up to you to follow whatever advice from whatever shop! From my experience I highly disagree with putting it on for 24 hours then reapplying it. If you ask people that use the product they will tell you it will hurt like s*** ! Plus other things I don't feel like talking about again.. Anyways @petes67bird follow what is good for you bro. I was only giving you advice because you asked me. Otherwise.. This product was used on me by a great tattooer/guy. I've only heard good things about it from others .. - - - Updated - - - Good advice bro!! I like the product beside healing awesome it' great for when I work. Many artist aren't familiar with this product so there is the unknown aspect of it. Good talking with you !!
  12. As long as you keep it on for three days you will be fine when taking it off! Just make sure you take it off in the shower under warm/hot water with some soap. Usually you will peel kinda fast but you will see how smooth your healing will be with just a little lotion. It is flexible and feels actually a lot better when it's on. I would strongly reccomedations that you put it on the day after your tattoo session. Of course having your tattoo wrapped with plastic and aquaphor. You can even get away with a 6 hours or so. I guess it all depends on how big the tattoo is. - - - Updated - - - I would say put it on with your arms extended.
  13. Yeah having it on for two days actually healing better than three.
  14. this last time I had it on for a little longer than two days. It's healing actually the same maybe even slightly better than 3 days. I guess it all depends.. I would be afraid to leave it on until it starts peeling.. only because when i take it off it might prematurely get stuck to some peeling/scabs that aren't ready to come out.
  15. Yeah I wouldn't do anything.. Just blot that area from time to time. Or tape a paper towel over it. I wouldn't take it off and put a new one on. Maybe you can put another one on around where it is about to leak.
  16. Either way you will be fine! Just don't take it off for 3 days. Plasma and ink is totally normal ! I just put it on a day after because there is less of it then.
  17. No I wouldn't take it off!! I always bleed ink under the tegaderm a little . Just keep it on ! - - - Updated - - - Also when taking it off after 3 days do it under warm water and some soap!
  18. I agree but that is with any aftercare ... For example if you say leave it on for 3 days they will rush home and peel it off dry after a day. Then complain that it's irritated and all red. Well......
  19. Well I kinda agree but you have to peel it off slowly under warm/hot water with some soap. If you do it the dry way .. ouch! Also make sure you leave it on at least for a couple of days!
  20. Right I forgot to mention the part of peeling it off under got water!!
  21. Well said!! It's with most professions that people straight out of school want to be CEOs . That how kids are these days ! When they start working at whatever job they see that it take a lot of hard work and years to be successful. I just feel that it's not really our jobs to say what is correct and not correct since most of us really know nothing about tattooing. Getting tattooed is one thing but having knowledge about the industry can only be told by those who tattoo.. Most of us have the respect for those artist and that's why we get tattooed by them. Let's just leave it at that. Some people watch these show that are on and instantly they think they are experts !! Most of the well respected people that are interviewed on this site started at home, you have to start somewhere right? That being said you have a very LONG way to go learn some history get tattooed (Inksmith & Rogers is in your town and there one of the best shops in the world) and for fucks sake don't call it a tattoo gun! I respect anyone who will follow their dreams even if it starts out the wrong way, but before you think of owning a shop, you better get in a shop, learn the culture and respect those who came before you.
  22. I was really struggling to not say anything about this and leave it be but... I'll be devils advocate here.. while I agree that being a scratcher isn't an ideal way to tattoo to say the least. I've been tattooed by some of the greats in the world . Not going to say who but I'm sure you can guess by the tattoos I got. He was once a at home tattooer. Now he's on of the best in his area... I also know of a particular shop owner who has one of the best shops in NYC that started that way.. While I personally agree that apprenticeship is the best way.. who am i to say that... I'm not a tattooer and also there are a lot of crappy people who tattoo out of shops too. One thing I do agree with is this site is becoming a haven of people who get awesome tattoos that somehow think that means that they are experts in all things tattoo. We are all lucky to get amazing tattoos by these artist but there are people out there that are less fortunate and may not have the exposure to these artist.
  23. I wouldn't take it to heart! I know one artist that is highly respected and straight out awesome he started out tattooing at his house too. Then again there are probably a lot of bad ones . You can see why some people arent too welcoming..
  24. I'm not a tattooer but I think a great way to learn and progress is to get tattooed by amazing artist.
