  1. Yeah I hope so too. I'll let you guys know how the visit goes and you will be one of the, if not the first ones to see the finished product if I do go with him!!
  2. So I called the Immaculate Tattoo place and Aaron is in Colombia at a tattoo convention which is pretty cool. He will be back next week so I can meet him and maybe make an appt. His next appt is for March, so that would give me enough time to plan more and save $$. It's not too long either I think. Feb always goes by quickly.
  3. I almost feel like it's a lot of what YOU do but also a lot on how good the artists was-how deep they went, what type of equipment they used, type of ink, what colors (if any), shading, etc
  4. Well I have yet to show my parents. I am not gonna tell them over the phone, I think it's better just to show them. They are coming to see me in February so that will be a good time. I feel like the reaction may be similar to my piercings (I have left lobe-which they were there for so doesn't count, eyebrow and industrial) They reacted negatively but they got over it pretty quickly. I imagine it would be the same with tattoos but I don't have one, I have 2. I also think they knew piercings can be taken out and aren't permanent like tattoos so maybe that will make a diffference. My tattoos are in places where they can be hidden so I don't see how they can say I will never be hired, etc
  5. Ok yah, that's what I need to see thanks  I defintely want the flames now and I am sure it will be worth the wait. I just don't want to wait TOO long Considering this will be on my arm and the best time of the year to be outside here is coming and I want to be able to be outside without wearing long sleeves
  6. So after you wash it everyday with dial soap and use non-scented generic lotion and it heals after about 2-3 weeks can you go back to normal body wash/soap and whatever lotion? Or do you wanna keep the same stuff but less frequent? And of course sun tan lotion all the time. Especially here in AZ where the sun is strong and out around 300 days a year
  7. Thanks, that info helped a lot!! Knowing he is fast and hourly helps me plan easier. I didn't know if he was or not. I will call them today and ask about the times he is available and then try to get down there maybe this weekend. It is a little out of the ways for me in terms of driving but it does sound like he would really be worth it. As for the actual design lol would the flames turn out well? I mean, I take care of my tattoos well and I would go to a high quality artist. Just wondering if it may be better without flames?
  8. Yeah I hear a lot about that place I am kinda hesitant only because I think he has a very long wait time. I feel, where I go now, I pay good $$ and the quality is excellent. I don't know what he would charge. With the detail and size, I think the tattoo would be around $400-500 so more might be too much to me. I do believe you can over pay for things. Also, I have had 2 tattoos from the same place and I wasn't disappointed so why leave? I looked at this work and the site and they do a good job but I don't know if it's the direction/style I want. I guess I'd have to go in the place and check it out.
  9. I just got my arm tattooed last Sunday but I am planning another in a few months or so ;) This is kinda what I am thinking. A black horse, mostly likely in a rearing position, either on fire or just alone. I am not sure yet, but the fire is a cool idea and adds some color (I like color in tattoos, especially accents-not too much, not too little) Also, I could do the abstract one, like in the photos below instead of an actual full horse w/ detail. I am thinking on my other arm, on the outside (where my snake/ankh one is now) Any suggestions, additions?
  10. Aww that's good to hear :D I haven't lived in CT (central) in 6 1/2 years and never going back!!!
  11. I got a cobra wrapped around an ankh on Dec 29,2013 by Christine Vallieres at Old Town Ink in Scottsdale, AZ After my first tattoo, I thought about this one and what I wanted it to be. For me, it symbolizes rebirth of life and protection. I think snakes get a lot of bad rep but I think they are awesome creatures. I consider myself pretty spiritual so the Ancient Egyptian symbol of life fits with the snake imagery. Some people think it's an evil snake but it's not :p This tattoo, along with the one on my back of a scorpion and some Arabic script do mean quite a lot to me. I got them a year after I had a near death experience. I was hospitalized for a long time and lsot my job and almost had to return to living with my parents back in Connecticut. I beleive that I was given a second chance and was being watched over somehow. It made me think how precious my life is, how strong I actually was and how much people cared for me.
  12. Thanks!! Yes, I introduced myself here http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/initiation/5016-newbie-phoenix.html and posted my tattoos
  13. I know I only have 2 tattoos (for now) :p but I have already started to see people differently. Before I had tattoos I noticed people with tattoos and always thought some looked cool but I was pretty indifferent toward them. Now that I have a few, I notice people without (visible) tattoos more. I guess it's because when I was looking before, it seemed everyone had tattoos and now I notice the opposite. It's like I unofficially joined some big group and I'm in the inside or something. I guess I have gained an appreciaton for tattoos, people with them and the artists. I am sure a lot of people think this way but to me, my tattoos are more than just ink in my skin, they are highly symbolic of my life and thoughts. This is just me so I don't if anyone else has felt some sort of way or different after they were tattooed? Not just about themselves but anything really
  14. The one on my back can only be seen if I am shirtless since tank tops cover it up but when I posted it on FB, people did ask what the arabic script said so I explained. The one on my arm, so far, no one has really asked at all. A lot of people, especially ones with tattoos, I think, don't really care much unless they see a tattoo they really like and comment on it. I was and still am the one who will look at someone's tattoos and compliment them on it. I might ask more but I think it's nice for someone to hear something good about their tattoos, make them feel good about them. Cuz who knows what backlash they may have gotten from family, etc
  15. I took a numbing gel for my back but wore off after an hour or so but the session was 2 1/2 so it was kinda silly BUT it WAS my first tattoo so I guess it helped. I think it's more of a psychological thing When I was getting my arm tattoo, the artist did comment on some twitching I had going on. I didn't even know, but when she told me, it stopped. I was able to make myself aware of it and keep calm I suppose some parts are twitchier than others?
  16. Dang yah the people I go to usually have to plan a good full month ahead. It will give me time to think and save $$ though :p Thanks for the info guys and the intro here. I am glad I found this forum. I feel like almost everyone has tattoos but only a handful of people really CARE and cherish their art and who actually know what they are talking about. Good to know those people are here
  17. After 2 tattoos done within a month or so of each other, I think I am gonna take a break, but I def have ideas of the next one that I have had in my head for a while now So I have no idea when but probably withing the next 6 months I'd say I'd like to get a horse, specifically a black, guess breed doesn't matter-I'd want either a full body of it standing up or galloping or maybe just a portrait shot of the head or a side shot. I also am considering Arabic calligraphy of in the shape of a horse but leaning more towards an actual horse. This would go on my left arm and would be pretty large or medium size depending on the position of the horse and if it's just the head or a full body. I don't own any horses but I do love them and I feel like they are really intense animals and you can connect with them differently than even a dog/cat. I do ride them when I can and I have before. They symbolize, to me, power, beauty and gentleness. I also they believe they signify a journey or moving forward, especially a galloping horse.
  18. Hmm well when I think of more, I'll have to check out Aaron out in Mesa sometime, bet he is super busy though
  19. Well a guy named Aaron "Bubba" Irwin, who is part owner of the shop did the Scorpion and Christine did the Snake/Ankh They are all very awesome, there are 3 others there. I really felt comfortable with them and they are funny and talk to you during the process. They build good relationships with their customers. I am one who once I find someone I like I usually don't ever stray away. I do this with my hair, Drs, etc
  20. For the snake/ankh tattoo, it was 120/hr and took about 3.25 hours so I paid 390 for it Do you think that makes sense? I do and I am OK and proud of it, she did an amazing job Some of my friends say I was crazy and other people I tell say the same
  21. What do the snake/scorpion mean to you? Mine are based on my astrological sign and chinese zodiac--scorpio and year of the snake--the scorpion is red and represents passion as well as protection, the snake itself represents rebirth, protections and strength/power, some say it's evil-esp the way it looks, but I dont see it that way
  22. A place in Old Town Scottsdale called Old Town Ink
  23. I feel like I have an animal theme going on, so far I have a scoprion and snake-not very liked animals but still animals with strong meanings I may consider a stallion or Arabian horse on my left arm someday
