1. Only a few posts in and I already have an idea stewing for a leg sleeve full of peonies....keep them coming!
2. @BrianH Everyone is a little different on pain threshold. Have a female friend who got a phoenix rib piece. Sat through the whole outline and color session in one shot without even wincing. I had no concept of how terrifying the back was and its gotten better over the several sessions of work but them ribs are SPICY! Inner thigh is no picnic either and healing has been very tender. But you'll always be happy with the results!
3. @Cork You are my HERO bro! Man the colors are breath-taking! Whew!
4. @BrianH Back of the ribs on my back piece were no joke. Almost caused me to tap out a few times.
5. Having gotten into collecting tattoos, I've a new found appreciation and fondness of peonies. Currently wear three different peonies from three different artists (Henning, Rubendall, Wendy Pham) and will definitely be adding more in the future. I would love to see different interpretations of peonies collected from different artists or hear who you think does nice peonies. I'm kicking around the idea of sleeving my knee and lower leg in peonies, either from one artist or a collection of artists. I'll share two artists off the bat that have been recommended to me: Matt Deverson from Australia: Rodrigo Souto working in the UK and is actually coming out with a peony book!
6. Take it from me @petiloi inner thigh is NO JOKE. Still tender today after my inner thigh session on Thursday. Healing should be interesting to say the least... BTW your thigh piece looks AWESOME!
7. @Lance All you have to do is ask bro....(Wendy's currently lasering her right arm to make way for another Shige sleeve )
8. @CABS Wendy is super into Grime. She got work from him while visiting the States this go around. I can see Grime's inspiration in Wendy's work and she's got a super sick Shige sleeve too!
9. @sophistre STUNNING!!!! I'm a huge Greg Whitehead fan. He's been KILLING everything he puts out. I saw the pic on Instagram and was wondering if it was an LST member. So glad to confirm that guess! Enjoy it!
10. Most of you saw this going down via Instagram but here's an AMAZING peony I got from the fantastically talented Wendy Pham aka Wenramen. This was on my inner thigh and it connected my Henning front thigh piece to my Rubendall rear back thigh backpiece. I don't know what possessed me to have my inner thigh brutalized but the results were OUTSTANDING. I'm so happy with how this turned out and Wendy is just AWESOME!!! ASIANS....still smiling even after the beating I took ;)
11. @Graeme STELLAR!!!! @Fala butt crack is pretty bad and the seam where your butt cheek meets with thigh is not picnic either oddly enough.
12. Easily the best flash and best tattoo I've seen on LST cltattooing. hogg You win at life bro!
13. @RoryQ That chest piece by Tomo is INSANITY. It looks scary as hell which speaks to the amazing piece that it is. Yellow Blaze is HARDCORE!!!
14. Maybe I will. In the meantime...PICTURES PLEASE! Of the LST gang, the convention, artists, tattoos, weirdos, Canadians!
15. Maybe speak to your doctor about either an over the counter or prescription pain med and muscle relaxant combo? It won't "numb" the pain but will certain help take the edge off and possible make the experience a little more comfortable.
16. Hung out with my buddy Joe today. He's like a mentor, older brother, super cool uncle all rolled into one. Joe's responsible for introducing me to Henning and putting me on the path of my ongoing tattoo journey. For fun we snapped off this pic of our Henning backpieces. Both our sleeves are also by Henning. Joe has awesome work from Tin Tin, Aaron Bell and Mike Rubendall as well. Enjoy!
17. You get what you pay for. It's permanent and on your body, how much is that worth to you? Don't skimp. There's probably a reason why your original artist is tough to book with, most likely because s/he is that good and highly sought after. Go original or go home.
18. @Cork My lady treated us both to a couples massage this past weekend. I was expecting some sort of reaction but didn't get one. They just went about their business and it was a new place we were trying and the experience was kinda of "meh". Not the best massage I've gotten. Previously about a year ago before the background was really laid in, I had gone to another couple's massage and the masseuse kept poking at my back to see if the ink was real and/or dry. Pretty hilarious. Plus was the masseuse was great...really beat the crap out of me.
19. @polliwog My goofy color is pink. Most times it would take months, almost a year to settle down and it would still heal funny. It would either darken or fade a little. Some spots after a touch up would be a little better but generally I try to stay away from it as much as possible knowing how my body reacts to it. Everyone is heals differently and will react differently with certain colors.
