  1. Wow. Did not think his work was bad. Ya know I am not sure if all the pics are his but I would think so. We will be in his shop this Thursday to look. And get a better idea. Possibly we will go to the Capitol to talk with other artists. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

Too bad you didn't learn anything about etiquette in all that time.

Wrong again. We like Delicious. You ... not so much.

P.S. You're friends are wrong, those tattoos are not good.

Honestly you have hurt my feelings. How can I live another day? :o
  2. Those are fucking terrible.

He is asking because you posted a bunch of garbage tattoos and asked if we like them. You know they are hideous, a five year old knows they are awful. The you ask if we like them, when you know we wont, so why bother.

Funny I asked some of my buds here in Dallas and they thought they were very good. He has at least 200 pics to show but I have to photobucket them first then repost here. I will put up a couple more. Maybe you will change your mind and maybe not. I DO thank you for being honest. Because if ya'll think they are bad then I do not want my wife to use this guy. Again thanks.
  3. You would probably get more response without the attitude. That's an honest opinion.

And no I don't like them. Too generic.

Attitude? LOL There is plenty of that here in this forum. I own and operate my own forum Owner/admin. and have done so for 7 years. I posted these pics because this artist owns a tattoo shop in Punta Cana, Dominican, Republic. And my wife might have him perform a tattoo. The thread on this topic reads "Do you like these tattoos" and then Slayer posts " I also don't understand what you are trying to get at with this thread." it is obvious Slayer by the title of this thread. But I guess it needs to be spelled out for ya.
They all suck, and look washed out.

    You're very rude

Sweety, Hogriders attitude comment without a doubt applies to you. In my previous threads you have been very obnoxious and rude. As a matter a fact I had a couple members PM me and fill me in on that you are a trouble maker and for me to ignore your posts. I told them thank you for the info. but she really does not bother me. In my forum a mod would have already asked you in a PM to please tone it down. And I am not talking about your opinion in this thread. So if you are looking for a rise out of me this is about as much as you are going to get. Now play nice. :)
  4. I am a warm brown complexion, and got my first colour tattoos over 10 years ago in Brampton, ON. I distinctly remember Chris, the tattoo artist, telling me I couldn't use orange or yellow, because it wouldn't show. I have a teal (bluish green) clover and a red fox, and both of them the colours show perfectly.

My brother who is the same complexion as me, has a full chest piece, upper arms, and back piece, using virtually all bright colours, except orange. His does have a little yellow in one, but its a very small section.

My next piece is a large floral piece, and I intend to use colours in it.

Would you say that you are darker or lighter skin toned than my wife? Her pic is on page 2 of this thread. And thanks for the input.
  5. Really this is the only answer. We can give opinions and post examples and the artists here can give expert opinions, but talking to someone in person will give you a better answer. Find out who the good artists are in your travel range, whatever that may be, and talk to some. Just don't settle for a mediocre artist just because they have experience with darker skin. She should get the best work possible.
Ok. She is in the Dominican Republic for the next 5 months and I am going to see her next week. We connected with a artist in Punta Cana,Dominican Republic and he did not recommend it. But he was not sure because everybody is different. He gave no guarantee. Thank you for your support.
  6. Here is an example of what red and blue might look like on darker skin:

    Tattoo by JoJo Ackermann

fyi incase you are at work... the picture is of a full female back piece so it includes lady butt

Tried to open it but it won't. Am on the iPhone. Will try when I get home. And thanks
She needs to talk to a tattoo artist in person, that is the only person who can give her an answer.
    Ok.
  7. To be fair I really don't think he meant put duct tape right on the tattoo. More like using duct tape to secure a waterproof covering over top of it. Like one might do with a plaster cast while showering, for example.
Exactly. I will cut with scissors thin strips of the duct tape to hold covering on it. Wife will be getting hers the last day we are in Punta Cana so swimming will be limited.
  8. The bittersweet taste of irony.

    Im done with this thread

    Thank God.
Do the moderators close down threads per our request?
Slayer said it is against policy. I own and operate my own forum and when a member asks me to close a thread that they have started I do as they ask. They started it si I have no problem locking or closing it.
  9. I've done lots of full color tattoos on darker skin, it does have a lot to do with not only how dark you are, but also weather you have a warm or cool complexion. The last part kind of has to do with what colors would be smart to use on you. But like everyone has already said check with your favorite tattoo artist and go from there.
    What does this mean?
  10. But we are hearing that colors do not do well with dark skin. Is this true. I asked a buddy of mine at our gym and he has the P.Rican flag on his shoulder and the white had faded away but the red and blue seemed to be ok. Any opinions?

  11. I finally registered here,seems like a sick place,I have 3 tattoos,I live in smoggy Chatsworth in So Cali,single,& 26.

    I just like tattoos.

    soooooooo,Hi !

Stinkybutt, Username kinda has a ring to it. ;) Original.
  12. Try to sleep however is comfortable for you, and don't stress out too much about it because some rubbing is inevitable with that spot. Inside of the bicep, if you're anything like me, is a shitty spot and you'll have an uncomfortable next couple of days. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Same here. I was worried at first but just said F it and slept the way I always sleep. The ink will get on the sheets though.
  13. Can you just go? You refuse to get your head out of the sand, you don't want help, you want smiles and gold stars.

Fuck it. Your original tattoo sucks, you're going to make it worse by going to the ocean, and now you want us to help you find some kind of stock photo to help you get a new sick tat from the same shitty artist who did your last one.

You don't want help, you want a pat on the back and a tattoo idea spoon fed to you.

And some people think tats make them tough. Do the forum a favor a keep your immature drama to yourself. This thread has served its purpose and I asked the mods to close it. The only thing that will keep this thread going is you and your drama. Again I would like to thank the mature members that really tried to help. For example Shaun and Beth. I liked her design and will be discussing it with my wife.
  14. It doesn't bother me at all. I was trying to give you a little advice. You don't have to take it. If you want to be the "sick tat bro guy" fine with me. If your good with wearing bad tattoos that's fine with me too. Some folks don't care about quality, they want to be a cool guy with "tats" and that's fine, but that's not what this place is about.

I can tell you that if you contacted a lot of the folks here's artists, they would be done talking to you once the word tat crossed your lips. Top level tattooers have all of the work they can handle, and they can pick and choose their clients. If you want top level work you need to respect the art and the artists.

Seriously wouldn't you say you are hypersensitive?

  15. If your good with sounding ignorant because you're too lazy to type, I good with it too. Just don't be shocked when no-one takes you seriously.

How bout a pacifier to suck on? Would that help you get over it? Just sayin getting a little childish I would say.
