  1. Also, sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to search for it, but every post that had "sent from my iPad using forum runner" (which is quite a lot) came up in the results.
  2. Hello, I've recently bought the forum runner app for my iPhone, so that I can participate a little more frequently (although I mostly still keep my mouth shut and read all of the good stuff going on around here) and everything seems to work very well and is easy to navigate, except photo galleries? Anytime that I try an access the "photos" tab on anybody's profile, including my own, I get an error message saying I don't have the proper privileges for that? There's a decent to high chance that it's just because I'm horrible with technology, but I can't seem to get it to work. Any help or advice is much appreciated, as I would like to be able to both browse others profiles, and add photos of my tattoos to mine. Thanks in advance!
  3. Pretty sure I found it, which is amazing because im horrible with the Internet. But if what I found was correct, then the cross on his tattoo should be right side up, shouldn't it?
  4. So @Mike Panic, what does that symbol on Timmy B's face mean? I'm quite curious now, unless it's one of those "if you don't know already, don't ask" type deals?
  5. I love the Pecker vs. Hooper palm video. Cracks me up how much Oliver freaks out (not that he shouldn't, I've never had my palms tattoed and thought the chest was horrible) its just entertaining. And then Hooper just sits there like a statue, perfect ending.
  6. I think the worst part about tattoo pain is that you can't move at all... Other types of pain you can move away from, strike out at, or hop around like an idiot cursing (when you stub your toe!) which I feel helps take the mind off it slightly. When getting tattoed you just have to sit completely still and bear it, which makes it worse, in my opinion.
  7. I just had an outline done on my chest, covering most of the pecs and a script rocker on the collar bones. Definitely psyched myself out about the pain level before hand, and struggled through the whole thing... I've even had compliments on my ability to sit through gnar spots (ribs, elbow cap) but I just couldn't relax, and the whole session was just torture.
  8. Thanks for the input folks. I think I'm just going to go for it, the design should hold up well I it does get cut in half, and it might even look good with the tattoo. Thanks guys.
  9. Haven't been around for a while as I don't have regular Internet access, but I had a quick question... I've heard and read tons of info on tattooing over scars, and the results of. My question is sort of the opposite. I'm hoping to do a full chest piece over the next month or two, and I'm quite excited for it. My only concern is that at some point in the next 5 years or so, I will be having heart surgery, replacing the valves due to a lifelong condition. When they do the surgery, chances are (as I understand it) very low that it will be an open heart surgery similar to the one I had as a child, but if that did happen what effect would it have on the tattoo? I realize it will mess it up considerably, but does anyone know if it would leave fresh, skin toned scar tissue that could eventually be touched up, or will it just be a jumbled mess of ink? Does anyone have experience with scarring over tattoos, either by surgery or accident or anything? I've never heard anything about it, but I'm certainly not the most educated tattoo wise, being from a small redneck town... I realize the best possible idea would be to wait until after the surgery, but the chances of having open heart as opposed to the surgery done by camera (laparoscopic?) is very low, and I'm mostly just asking out of curiosity rather than concern... Thanks for any and all input/advice
  10. As a slightly different question, do you consider it "acceptable" to get a famous artists non-tattoo art made into a tattoo? I found some Banksy art that would work really well for a coverup, but I feel like while it might be rude to get his art tattooed on me without permission, I don't know that's it's possible for me to contact him to ask permission. I've seen plenty of Banksy tattoos before, but that doesn't make it right... I can't see it being a huge deal (the whole point of his art is to create as much attention and stir as possible anyway) but I just didn't want to do something really rude by accident... So I guess would that be rude?
  11. i agree, i hate when people say "half-sleeve" unless its covered, top of shoulder to elbow (obviously leaving a little lee-way right by the armpit, nobody likes that shit) To be honest, i kinda dislike the term half-sleeve for some reason. In my mind its almost a full sleeve, or just some tattoos on your arms... but thats just how its always seemed logical in my mind. Maybe its because of people calling anything that covers a large part of one arm a half-sleeve, idk.
  12. Had to cancel my appointment... due to my paycheck now being almost two weeks late, and i have no clue when ill get it. Bastards. The shop was cool about it though, and after i explained, they told me (without me even mentioning it) that they would make a note of it and to come in and make a new appointment whenever i could, without paying another deposit (which i expected to lose when i canceled)
  13. Going in June 2 to get a tudor rose on my elbow, with a compass rose above it covering up some old garbage, my birthday is the 3rd so its my present to myself. Stoked to finally cover up that old tattoo, and i just got out of a job where i couldnt have tattoos visible with a t-shirt, so im happy to finally be able to go on/below the elbow!
  14. I have a skeleton, anchor, swallow, rose, skull, dagger, lady head, and some initials. Not really into animal heads (again I like them but not for me)
  15. All good ideas, but I'm not that into Japanese tattoos, I like the looks a lot but it's just not for me, and most of the other ideas mentioned I already have tattoos of, the sun and rejoice idea is awesome though, two scoops of joy! Haha
  16. Hey, im goin on a trip this weekend, and ill probably pick up a new tattoo as ill be in a different city and dont have much access to good shops here. I think im just gonna walk in and come up with something on the spot (assuming i can even find a good artist to do a walk in) but I thought it might be cool to hear some random ideas from you folks, as ive seen some pretty interesting ideas posted on here in various threads. I was kinda wanting something on the collarbone, maybe a banner along the collarbone with an image on each side, on the front shoulder/chest area, but i could easily just get something random on my upper arm, so any ideas are welcome, lets see what you can come up with, and if you have an awesome idea, i might just turn it into a tattoo! Thanks
  17. I already asked this once but i might as well try agian as its been awhile, any suggestions for Salt Lake City, UT? I went to Oni Tattoo last time and liked it, just wondering if there was any other good ones to check out? I've tried searching and cant find anything special, just dozens of iffy shops. Thanks either way!
  18. Kev - she wanted to draw up a tattoo for me, its a good painting but im not sure how well it will translate to a tattoo Im just going to take it in to the artist and ask him, i just didnt know if this was something that tattoo artists generally didnt like, so ill find out from him when i can, thanks for the advice everyone
  19. Would it be unreasonable to ask a tattoo artist to recreate a painting that a friend did, as a tattoo? I could see an artist not wanting to copy someone else's work instead of drawing it themselves, but i also would like to have my friends design as a tattoo, so i was wondering what other people thought of this idea, or if it was something that most people wouldnt do?
  20. I got an anchor with a swallow, but im terrible with names and cant remember which guy did it, i want to say his name was chris maybe?
  21. Thanks bigjoe, I ended up going to Oni, ended up with a tattoo i Iove and everyone there was very nice as well, although I didn't realize ribs would hurt THAT bad, I heard it would be similar to my ankle, but it definately wasn't
  22. Are there any good shops in salt lake city? I happened to end up here for the weekend and would like to get a tattoo while here if there's a good shop
