  1. I will be at these shops on these dates with openings to spare. I'd love to tattoo some LST'ers if they are so inclined -- it's always nice to meet people from this community!

    March 3 - 9, Musink & Sid's Tattoo Parlour, Santa Ana, CA

April 6 - 10, Three Kings Tattoo, Brooklyn NY

April 11 - 14, Chicago Tattoo Company, Chicago IL

April 15 & 16, Mt Idy Tattoo (just have one spot open)

April 17 & 18, Tattoo Paradise DC (I can take appointments on the 19th as well, just no walk ins...)

Thanks for all your feedback and for telling your friends!

    Lizzie

  2. I'm really excited to be back in California for Musink and a couple of days at our good friend Sid's tattoo parlor. If you'll be at Musink, let's get in touch and see if we can't share a beer or two or three... And being that I'm in CA, my glaucoma might also be acting up. LOL

I have a few really exciting appointments planned, all really cool custom work that clients chose specifically for me. No, "Can you do this giger sleeve in a way taht paul booth would?" bullshit!

Anyway, if you'll be there, hit me up!

  3. His mom must be so proud. And Calbee, did you say that Boot Nose might be dead? He seems like such a doll, how could he possibly meet an early grave?

This guy is Canadian. He's from Montreal. He goes by zombie boy. I've seen him many times... He actually came ingot jen moffatts old shop and upon entering just whipped off his shirt and started walking around lol!d. To be honest though, he's had this worked on since this original photo and it's actually really, really impressive in person. I don't know of it qualifies under bad tattoos because of how well it's actually done. Maybe not what we'd all do with our faces but... I'm just saying... It's pretty wild in person

  4. We have a client who I've tattooed for 6 years now. I've seen him through girlfriends, drug problems, etc. I've spent years covering up all his hateful skinhead tattoos and we are almost all done. Reecntly, I've seen him meet the love of his life, with almost all his history covered on his skin, and he just had a baby. I tattooed him on his 365th day of sobriety just recently. I almost get teary eyed at the thought of what a difference he has actively made in his life and he went from being a difficult, cancellation-crazy customer to someone who I just wqnt to hug when he's on his way out. When he leaves, everyone in the shop has smiles about how this guy turned his life around.

I love that we all get inspired to be better people through his hard work. Such a great guy.

  5. Hi Lizzie I am not sure how or why that picture was under customers it was meant to be under bad tattoos.

She would never be one of my customers I am afraid to say for me she crossed a line when she lied about the tattoo artist and what happened.

I am sorry about the mistake I will move the picture asap to avoid any further misunderstandings.

I thi k your website is just a bit confusing, because bad tattoos is a gallery that is under a larger heading of "recent customers.". Sorry, I think I am the one who had it confused.

  6. Id like to share a story here.

I had a healed tattoo of about 6 weeks before traveling to Oman where I'd be able to swim in the ocean and the gulf of Oman.

After swimming in the ocean, the very well healed tattoo became inflamed and looked moist, even when the skin was dry. The skin felt like it was on fire. I saw a tattoo-friendly doctor when I got home and she mentioned something worth thinking about: micro organisms in the ocean may have a chance of severely irritating a tattoo that was even 6 weeks old and fully healed. The skin is so new and susceptible to damage that it can surprise you.

Ive heard that tattooer in Australia along the golden coast (I think that's what it's called?) sometimes warn clients about staying out of the ocean or surfing for quite some time following the healing.

Anyway, just wanted to share a freak event with you guys. Might be worth the precaution if you normally have sensitive skin. It was incredibly painful and meant I couldn't expose my arm to sun unless I wanted to exacerbate the burning feelings...

Maybe it will never happen to anyone else, but Its good to know about stuff like this if you're concerned in general

  7. Hello guys and gals I just wanted to pop a quick hello in here.

I would be only to pleased to answer and laser questions.

I am sadly rubbish at recording my work but I do have a bunch of photos of tattoos I have worked on or am working on. A few of them are really bad if your interested I will post a few up in the near future.

I went to your site and under "recent customers" it had a picture of the now famous star faced teenager who claimed she fell asleep while being tattooed and was given a fce full of stars... Is that really your client!? Let's see her blisters! Did you ask Her about it?

  8. There's all kinds of stuff on here about the worst tattoos you've seen and pain in the ass clients, but what about the ones you love?

For those of you who watched Nick Colella's interview, you'll remember him talking about a client who got his first tattoo with Nick. After that they've attended each others weddings and become close. It made me feel really good, because we so often forget about the awesome people we meet in the wake of the psycho drunk assholes that affect our day so much more strongly.

So let's chat about some of the awesome people who you look forward to seeing in your tattoo shops.

Ps this post is also partially inspired by an awesome repeat customer of mine named Alanna who posts on LST regularly and has taken a truly responsible interest in good tattooing and traveling to indulge her new hobby. She also brings us cookies and is also always an uplifting presence in the shop. We need to celebrate radical dudes like her who got into tattooing post tv show, but have a pre-tv show reverence for the trade.

  9. thank you so much Lochlan, your the best!!! :) I looked at all her pictures and all i have to say is Amazing! i was actually kind of speechless! i thought i was gonna have to travel to Japan which isnt entirely a bad thing but im actually really glad that shes in the U.S. at State Of Grace. i would sooo be down for a dinner with other LSTers, dude i want to hop on a plane and visit right now!!!

Alanna-- I plan to be back in California this year to see Los Ocegueda and work at Sid's again, if you're gonna travel we should co-ordinate do some fun tattoo stuff! State of grace is such an insanely skilled group of artists.

  10. i would travel anywhere and everywhere.......if money grew on trees! Most recently through this site i was introduced to Jill Bonny's work and i would love to have a piece done by her. this is something thats going on my life list but hopefully it will get done within the next 3-4 years! it would be a big adventure for me because i was thinking i might want to grab a friend and make it a road trip from Toronto to California, instead of flying down. i found an amazing artist here in Toronto and i didnt think i was going to want to get work done by others but slowly im getting used to the idea and letting my imagination go, thinking about all the work i want for the future.

Alanna!!!! 'ats my girl! Proud that I have such a cool new client. I can show you some more artists, too, that you can add to your list alongside Jill Bonny that could make a road trip to Cali more fun with more stops! Collecting is a great hobby, can't wait to see where you go with it!

  11. Almost all my tattoos have been travelled for. I'd say 80%, including my sleeve, for which I had to drive to Montreal and back and get hotels about 5 times. Soon I will be traveling to Michigan for my entire right leg. Throat again in Montreal this summer... Is about a six hour drive each way but who gives a fuck? Peoe who fill themselves with easy cheap tattoos bum me out. We have a guy who comes in the shop who's an apprentice monger... Only free tattoos for this fucker... And how fucking sad is it that someone like that CAN get tattooed almost weekly by apprentices? Guh.

  12. Myles, you're so sweet! Our shop can always be your home away from home. Looking forward to more fin artist trades with Three Kings in 2011!

i met lizzie at the brighton convention last year, and we split a booth at montreal this september. i went up to speakeasy for 4 days last month and cant speak highly enough about the whole experience. i was busy the whole time i was there, the customers were all amazing people who wanted awesome tattoos, and more than anything, just had a great time with everyone at the shop. it was the most at home ive ever felt at another shop, and really look forward to going back. plus, next door is some of the best coffee ive ever had. if you can, try and travel up there.
