  1. I didn't know they put on the Milano convention! I've been wanting to attend that one for years! Hopefully over the next couple years I'll be able to find some people who want to share a booth! I'd love to go to London as well but I've heard it's reallllly expensive there for lodging and food.

The thing I like about Tattoo Life is they make regional issues of the magazine. Here in Canada the content is different then in the USA and I'm assuming the euro version has different stuff then the other versions as well. It's nice to be able to pick up a tattoo magazine in Canada and see tattooers that are actually close to home. I mean it's really awesome to see work from people around the world but it's also nice for a customer to see your work and then realize they can get tattooed by you without traveling too far.

  2. I wasn't trying to be an asshole to you slayer ;) I meant it more in general. I totally understand being misinformed as I was once in the same boat and luckily stumbled into a good tattoo shop one day and as they say the rest is history.

It's just weird to me sometimes when people get the tattoo first and then start doing research about getting a tattoo. I assumed it would be the other way around now that the internet is so accessible in most places.

Also, I think if you like the tattoo that is all that really matters. I have some tattoos that other people don't like at all that I wouldn't get rid of. It's about feeling comfortable in your own skin, whatever that means. The best thing you can do is try and inform yourself and then just go with what feels right. The best way to find a good artist is to ask some people who's tattoos you really like. Most people have no problem telling you where they get their tattoos.

  3. It also could have been that the guy who did it isn't really tough when he tattoos. I also had the backside of my arm from him and found it to be pretty easy. My elbow is also pretty small and the tattoo only took maybe an hour at the most, plus it's a traditional piece so there isn't a lot of fancy colour mixing or fading from one to another. I am sooooo far from being tough when I'm getting tattooed normally so I dunno, guess I just got lucky and I'm glad for it!

  4. netflix canada is the WORST luckily i've been able to find a couple other sites with links to torrents or other downloads.. there's this one website STRIKE GENTLY that posts a lot of tv and movie downloads and streams.. they also post a lot of porn photos (mostly ladies) and funny pictures and music downloads.. so not the best for at work surfing but it's deff worth a look

  5. haaaaahahahaha

i've had people think that he wasn't real as well!

or when people see your tattoos and then say it reminds them of some ed hardy stuff... which would be a compliment from a tattooer but i dunno if it's really one when it comes from some random jackass who doesn't know he's a real person...

i only know doug online but he seems like one funny fucker

  6. CaptCanada - the other guys are right, it's totally normal! I found even with small tattoos below the knee they would get irritated if I was on my feet all day. The worst though is when you first wake up in the morning and get out of bed, all the blood rushes into your legs and it fucking hurts! At least that what happened to me

  7. thanks for posting that info MsRad, I had no idea about the legalities of sending in photos to a mag and what that means they can do with it.. i always thought once you gave someone a photo they could use it for whatever..

I'm kind of surprised that tattoo life charges for online viewing. I always thought it was one of the better magazines these days. Maybe they are charging for online viewing so that it doesn't hurt hard copy magazine sales? I can't remember if they are one of the free mags or if it's a paid subscription. I could see how if it was all online for free less people would but the magazine.

  8. I actually found that my elbow was really not that bad! If you can sit through a rib, shin or back tattoo you'll probly be able to sit through an elbow. I actually found almost all my other tattoos to hurt a lot more than my elbow now that I really think about it. Knees on the other hand, I still have my open partly because I'm worried about being able to sit through it. When I do get them done I will 100% be on pain killers.

  9. We cancelled cable when Conan went off the air and never turned it back on. The only thing we ever watched was Conan and HBO. We don't miss it at all! Except for Conan but you can watch his new show online and I have a working computer again so hooray!

And congrats on your decision cfg! I'm sure the $100 or so you'll be saving every month can buy you some sweet tattoos !
