  1. suffer from it everyday...so bad that my thumb and first 2 fingers go numb, not in the oins and needles kinda way either...in the holy shit that really hurts kinda way.

what is wierd is that i was on this diet called the flat belly diet...its really good food, hardly any salt and some other sciencey fatty stuff...well during those 2 months or so i had zero problems with my wrists and hands. salts and different fatty foods will bloat you and i think it really restricts the blood flow especially to the hands. as soon as i strayed from the diet i started getting those hand symptoms right away...need to go back on it..haha..i hate diets

  2. Once people quit tattooing, or in rock n roll die, they become more desirable due to the "unobtainable factor" Never got tattooed by Higgs either but lived and worked close to him and met him on more than one occasion. So I guess I didn't want one that bad. And back then Higgs was an anomaly rather than an unobtainable ghost leading a pack of confused newbies looking for a place in tattooing. No offense to anyone on that. we all start somewhere knowing nearly nothing.

haha..that is one of the best things i have heard in a looong time..i get to stare at a higgs piece everyday i go to work...unfortunately its on the boss man and not me. i have too mant to list..most have been from conventions i have gone to(not working) but have been broke and just enough $$ to get airfare/hotel/meals and some books/shirts. there is definitely a few on this forum i want work from..hopefully we will cross paths in the near future so that can happen.

  3. i just got done working for a dude who had been tattooing for "13" years supposedly..california,east coast, etc..he had 6 tattoos, none bigger than a softball...he didnt know any history of our profession, had no desire to get anymore tattoos because they hurt or he was "too picky"..you would think after being around for at least 13 years he would know of key people in the industry..nope...he had no love for it, no desire to learn more about it or progress..he wasa happy doing his shitty color outline with watered down color look..his tattoos looked like they were aged 15 yrs or had a few laser sessions done on them, after they were healed in 2 weeks....the guy was a rad guy to be friends with but it got to the point where he would come into work, cancel his appointments and go to the bar....i lost all respect for him after awhile, why should i work hard for and give my hard earned money to someone who has no love for this industry...i put him up there with non tattooers honestly...i will never work for anyone like that again...i kinda had no other choice at the time....my 2cent ramble

  4. alright i guess since i am throwing out my 2 cents on some critiques i should post one up as well..this is an AMUND DIETZEL design (woman's head) with stuff added around it..on the inside of a the knee area.....have at it...post-174-146168828073_thumb.jpg

  5. in my humble opinion...the wiskers get lost in the design a bit/to small, not long enough

..the cig is way to small..i didnt see it the first few times i looked at it..

..the "lips" around the mouth are kinda wierdand hard to see

..and the eye ball behind the cheek just bugs me..me personally would have thrown them out like the old crazy wolfs in the cartoons...which i just found out are the tex avery reference you mentioned...4732613854_3a611969a3_z.jpg

  6. the original singer of the dead milkmen lives up here in spokane..moved up here a long time ago, sadly he has parkinsons disease really bad..he used to come into the shop i worked at and get tattooed with important memories of his life...cbgb...dm...cool jew..stuff like that...well we were grabbing drinks one day after he got tattooed and asked if he would tattoo the dm logo on us...well after a few more drinks he was in....said it was the coolest thing that has happened to him in a long ass time...haven't seen him in awhile so hopefully he is still around and kickin...great guy with cool ass stories..here's a pic of his first tattoo ever...40743_1204274923354_1723073924_404750_5173774_n.jpg

  7. i've run into that problem here...i have sold some flash to another artist who used to work with me..this artist has since moved on to open their own shop in town...put up my flash on the walls and has done 4-5 pieces from it...including letting the apprentice there do some as well...all very poor quality work for the most part...it bothers the shit outta me that they have done this to my work (not that i'm the greatest tattooer in the world)...but damn..i'm about 2 miles from their shopand the flash is simple shit..and they butcher it...makes me want to break into the shop and take it back...if i tattoo someones flash that i have purchased..i try my hardest to make it close to that piece as possible out of respect to them ya know..i know my limits to what i can and can't do..

i think it's double edged sword...you sell flash, prints, sketch books, etc...knowing that people will copy your stuff and use it to make money..it's not like the old days from what i understand where artist would send each other stencils, rubbing, tracings, etc..of their work...they knew who they were trading with...and those people would trade it off to another artist that they trusted and so on...that is an important part of the history of tattooing...but if you are straight ripping off a tattoo/drawing that you haven't paid for or traded for i think thats where the line is drawn...do your homework and redraw that shit..myself i learned my lesson..it's not worth the measly $60 i made off of the prints to see a bastardized horrible version of my work in the town that i work in....hopefully that made some sense..as it was almost a book long...haha...just my 2 cents
