  1. I recently opened Banthalope Tattoo in Edgewood, N.M. Looking to hire a quality tattooer with a positive attitude. Edgewood is a quiet mountain town about 30 min East of Albuquerque. Good location, corner spot right on Old Rt. 66, the shop is setup as a tattoo shop/workshop with big tables and a vinyl plotter. Plenty of room for activities. I also have a metal shop with a cnc plasma table, so.. this would be a good fit for an artist who enjoys making things. It would be a good place for someone who wants to put roots down and live close to a big city, but prefers how peaceful things are out in the country. @banthalopestudios on ig. 2. Our buddy Dave is moving back to Wisconsin in a week, so we have a full time position opening up here at Ghost Town Tattoo. We're looking for someone with a good attitude, solid portfolio and a good rep. The shop is a custom street shop located in the heart of Downtown. Savannah College of art and design is here downtown. Plenty of tourists, and a few military bases in the area, oceanfront 20 minutes away. . . Good location.

You can check out our shit at Ghost Town Tattoo - Home

    or on f.b.

Give me a call if you are into it. (912)695-7882

Or send a email to [email protected]

    Cheers!

  3. I used to plan out what I wanted and bring in drawings or reference, anymore I just make sure I like a tattooers work enough to just give them a general idea and let them go with it. I realized that I had been so picky in the past that I lost out on getting some rad tattoos.

  4. It was about thirty years ago. We were at a flea market and this dude had the first art car I had ever seen. Inside and out there were toys all over the car, he even had a old iron that he would throw out the window when he parked like an anchor. Ol dude had his shirt off selling crazy things while wearing a clear plexiglass cowboy hat. It was the first time I saw a few things I guess, he had a solid collection of tattoos and piercings.

  5. Yep, but its ok. I like to work with guys who are cool with communicating enough to be able to handle some criticism I don't feel like its being a dick to be like.. Man, those lines didn't look like they were in there. Some may answer, I know, that outline kicked my ass or, I noticed that too, I tried a couple different setups and still struggled.... Others may just get defensive and swear they were fine. I've worked with some serious ball busters, and that really helped me to realize that quality counts.

  6. The longest i've sat for so far was with Cap at Timeless tattoo in 1999, he tattooed a candle burning on both ends on my collar bones with smoke trailing off around my neck just under the t-shirt line. It took about 7 hours, all single needle and 9 mag. Great experience, we just shot the shit the whole time and took minimal breaks. The pain wasn't bad but at the last couple minutes I started to black out. I let him know and he was like nah, you got it. . . Seriously man, I'm about to hit the deck... He just kept tattooing telling me that I wasn't going to pass out. Somehow he talked me through it. Afterwards we went out for sushi. It was a good day.

At the time i was working at a street shop and it was funny to hear the owner ask why I drove so far to pay for a tattoo when I could have got the

same thing for free from one of my co-workers. A fool and his money.

Nothing like a cool tattoo along with a quality experience. Still looks great.

  7. There was a guy that came in a couple days ago wanting some face tattoos, he already had a mustache and a little goatee tattooed on his face. His skin was pretty dark, so it wasn't super obvious... I passed on adding to his collection, but later that day I regretted it. He was an older guy, obviously sober, and he already went there, so why not? Should of done it.
