  1. @reverend1 how's the dragon with Kore coming along? I think I remember seeing that you were heading back in Nov, has that second sitting happened?

I have 2 days booked with him at the end of Jan for a black and grey dragon. I saw the start of yours and it looks great!

Sucks I had to wait so long, was in contact with him back in early Sep but getting time of work sucks. Not looking forward to the 7 hour drive down to cinci.

Im heading down on the 14th of December to finish it up. I cant wait to get it done. My wife is having some work done by Brenda at the same time so it took until December for them both to have an opening on the same day.

  2. I think most of us agree that in most cases having tattoos should not negatively effect a job applicants chance of being hired. But if you were a hiring manager would the quality of a job applicants tattoos effect your decision to hire them?

Hard to say. If they had ridiculous tattoos like the stuff in the worse ever thread, I might not hire them. Not because they are tattooed, but because they are obviously a moron.

  3. I was wondering about that, may drop the idea about the tree/branch. I have an appointment with Mo to discuss the design this Friday (we have talked briefly about it before) and the first appointment is the following Thursday.

Cheers for your advice, and thanks for the welcome.

He would certainly know better than I would. I'm interested to hear what you both decide. Don't forget to post pics!

  4. From the ages of 23-28 I was doing reservations for shows an all the fancy restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip. The money was good, which allowed me to a ton of traveling and get tattooed.

When I first started the dress code was dress shirt/tie/slacks. They relaxed it down to casual (t-shirts/jeans) and actually saw productivity and moral shoot up, but ya still had to keep your tattoos covered. I didn't mind 'cause I'm a private person and didn't really wanna "show off to my co-workers", (It sucked during the summer, wearing long sleeves, the Vegas summer is hell!) but I had co-workers who would rally against the machine and engage our over-lords about revamping the dress code to allow exposed tattoos, it worked!

An I believe productivity/moral even increased a little more. I was stoked, no more long sleeves during the summer!

Plus, I got to see some of my co-workers tattoos. One dude had both arms sleeved with crop-circles, an each crop circle designed had a specific meaning. I wouldn't say the tattoos were good. but they were hilariously awesome!!!!

I ended up leaving that place cause dealing with shitty tourists all day is lame.

Luckily, I landed at a job that is pretty hip, progressive and forward thinking. (A co-worker friend is transgendered, female to male, an the insurance provided by work is covering his re-assignment surgeries!!)

I can show up in a cowboy hat, tube top, pajama pants and flip flops and get a hi-five from my boss. with that kinda feeling in the work environment, everyone is positive and work gets done and it's a win/win situation.

I just hope in the future more employers will understand : the happier the employee they better they will work

and sometimes being happy at work is just wearing a t-shirt vs. shirt & tie!

That's great to hear. I will say as an employer, I draw the line at tube-tops. No-one looks good in a tube-top.

  5. Instead of trying to think of a design or an idea first, try either checking out some shops or some tattooers whose work you might like. I know not everyone wants to pore over portfolios, especially for a small tattoo that may be your first, but it can definitely point you in the right direction and get you thinking. Like @CultExciter said, let us know where you're at and maybe we can get you started.

I agree. You might get the best results by meeting with the tattooer of your choice and working with them to design something you will love. The artist might have some great ideas you wouldn't have though of on your own.

  6. I dont like controversy in my life as I have lived within my entire life and can't imagine the situation you are in and hope the best for you as I support the legalization and medical use of Cannabis. With that said, I know some excellent officers with unmatched morals and ethics that I would trust my life with and had to overseas. I also know there are bad people in all industries including tattooing.

I feel fuck the police is a bit harsh and understand your mad but, when kids are taken, women are violated or beaten, people are killed, etc. they serve a purpose and some are damn good.

I dont mean to start a shitstorm and I guess as a new member you all are welcome to bash me and say fuck that guy for his opinion. I spose my membership could prove short here but Good Luck anyway.

    Dont hate, educate.

That is an excellent point. There are great people and scumbags in every profession.

  7. He is doing a full back piece' date=' neck down to bottom of ass and the entire right leg from hip to toe.

Back is a Huge Tibetan skull and water, leg is a women with veils on like in some of his silk paintings and a crow on a skull. I told him to mix in roses and water as well.

I have not seen any artwork yet and am waiting patiently...First sessions in late january.[/quote']

Wow, I can't wait to see the finished product. For what it's worth I got my study a week before my appointment. I thought I was going to break my email I checked it so much.

  8. I have sat for 6+ hours a couple times and will be doing 6 hours two days in a row when I start with Mr. Flatmo. I gotta say...at about 4 hours the pain makes every second agony, but, if the tattooer is fast and constantly works the skin, and doesnt take little 30 second pauses, then it goes way better. If the needle stays in the skin as much as possible I feel like my tolerance for pain blocks it out much better.

Same goes for breaks. I prefer to take no breaks unless absolutely necessary. It just hurts tenfold when that needle hits skin again.

I can't even imagine how my two day session with Kore is going to go. I know he is super fast but sitting 6+ hours and then doing it again the next day with a raw back and ass....whew. I am going to be fucking hurting.

Kore works really quickly. He kept everything moving alone at a nice pace during my last session. What are you having done?

  9. Ok - so those aren't encouraging replies!

My experience is that when you start it's not too bad. You get into a groove and roll along pretty good. As hour three and four roll around the adrenaline starts to wane and it starts to get tough. That was my experience anyway. I was doing a 1/4 sleeve and chest panel. I would imagine five hours on the ribs would be a bear. Not saying you can't do it, but I wouldn't want to try.
