  1. My artist laughed when he got to my elbow. He'd asked a few times how I was dealing with the pain and I said I wasn't feeling much but he saw my face when he got to the inner elbow. And he laughed. But I think he was just shocked the entire time that my first tattoo was so big. He like held up his fingers in a circle the size of a 50 Kč coin (a bit bigger than an American quarter or a eurocoin) going, "You know, usually a girl's first is like this big. Just enough to try it." Yeah, his reaction at the end was simply, "You are one tough woman."
  2. I usually sleep on my left side or on my stomach with my left arm folded under my pillow. Not possible right now so falling asleep takes time and maneuvering. In a very uncomfortable dormitory bed. Well, last night my roommates brought guys home who were incredibly loud drunks. Seriously, my roommates epitomize the "loud, drunk, American" stereotype and the guys were louder than them. So I had finally gotten comfortable and fallen asleep at 1:30ish, only to have them wake me up at 3:30 and keep me up until 4:30. Grumble, grumble, grumble, roar.
  3. I snuck it into a conversation a few days ago with my mom that I was getting the rose tattoo I'd been wanting. Then I just posted the before-and-after pictures on Facebook when it was done. Neither parent responded for a while. My brother and youngest sister did. My sister saying she'll still get a tattoo at the youngest age and my brother saying he still did it first. My dad responded to his cousin asking about the pain with "I hope that can be washed off." After talking to my mom, I found out he's kinda mad about the size and how he thinks it'll be hard to cover. Yeah, a short sleeve shirt won't cover it, but my professional clothes will. I made sure of that. My mom was more full of "Was the place clean?" "Was everything sterile?" "Did he stop for breaks?" "Did he give you care instructions?" In addition to the "It's nice, it's just huge." Oh, and telling me to go buy vitamins.
  4. https://imgur.com/DjLB28G Artist I believe is Radim. Studio is called Hell. In Prague, Czech Republic.
  5. I go to 69% female college in a small middle-of-nowhere town that shares its name with a Facebook game. Most of the tattoos I see are either your cliche girl-in-college tattoos (anchors, infinities, and all that stuff). Other than that, it's usually really brainy stuff (I'm talking forces stuff from physics and the like) or gaming-related. Quite a bit of Zelda. There are only two shops in town and there are jokes surrounding them that (a) one offers laser-removal because their work is so bad you're gonna need it and (b) like half the work that the better one does is cover ups for people who went to the bad place first.
  6. I'm trying to get a tattoo of dark, sorta Gothic thorned roses with a single butterfly. I want it basically in the middle of my left arm but I'll see what an artist has to say about that.
  7. Ahoj! Okay, we're gonna get the basic stuff out of the way real fast. I'm Ally, a 20-year-old chick born-and-raised in Virginia, USA. Currently, however, I'm studying at Vysoká škola economická v Praze in Czech Republic. I have no tattoos currently because my father threatened to kick me out if I got one before I turned 21. But, hey, I'm in Prague on my own dime so daddy can suck it up because I'm getting the tattoo I've wanted for two years.
