You should be healed enough after 4-6 weeks for touch-ups.

I have never heard anyone put a ceiling on touch-up or re-work with respect to time frame. Obviously, your options on same will be somewhat limited based on the eventual and natural fading and/or spreading of the ink in your derm.

its text based tattooo could this be the reason he said you have within 2 years to make changes on it

Every time I am with my tattoo artist, he touches up his other work. I end up leaving with several fresh sections!

Will it heal back to natural colour after time?  my tattoo is text based could this be why?

it's never too late to touch up or rework a tattoo IMO.

I had a 15yo tattoo reworked recently and it rocks again, even better than it did.

    and btw,6mo is barely healed.

I thought it was healed after 4.. Also why did my tattoo artist say something about having a 2 year time frame after that it shouldnt be touched ?

Same as you. Nervous, obsessed, pissed. But again, once it sank in that no tattoo is perfect (though some are certainly better than others) it stopped being an issue for me. Seriously, look up pictures of truly awful script tattoos and you'll see that yours is great!

How long did it take you for the obsessions to stop and how did it sink in

They're not. Believe me, no one notices but you just like no one notices the "mistakes" on mine. I've seen a lot of shitty script tattoos and yours is not one of them. Besides didn't you say you fixed it up a bit?

Ive grown to like the tattoo , I want things around it just not sure what. Is this normal i think about the dot on the tattoo at least 55 times a day and check it its become a habit

Then let it be a lesson to you not to sweat the small stuff. Not trying to belittle your OCD or saying get over it. Just trying to turn a negative into a positive. Tattoos are imperfect because they're made by humans, not robots, and there's no eraser on the other end of the tattoo machine. That's part of the beauty of them. People aren't perfect either. Get more tattoos and you won't even think about it. Worked for me

Hi thanks for your reply ive tried looking at other peoples tattoos and they all look so perfect . And ive stared at them just look at the 6 on mine its awful..

    Coming soon:

I had my tattoo artist thicken one of the lines on a tattoo I had that wasn't perfect. Then that line made the other lines look imperfect so I had him thicken ALL of the lines. They weren't all perfect, as measured by an electron microscope, so I had the whole tattoo lazered off so I could start fresh and get it perfect this time, but even after 10 lazer treatments the skin doesn't look perfect. What should I do????

Ah man that sounds like a right pain in the ass. Hopefuly ill get over this maybe i will.

Im the same even if i get a mark in my clothes or something so it not just tattoo but tattoos are more permanent.

    Ill leave it for now

You can't. Or you could probably laser off that little part and have it redone. It will be a long process and probably not worth it, because you seem hellbent on not being happy about your tattoo regardless of the little dot or not.

But if you're that crazy about details and perfection, my tip would be to stay as far away from tattoos as possible. They are made by humans, who will get things wrong from time to time. They also tattoo living skin, which reacts different from client to client, and during your healing you can mess it up yourself. Even if your tattoo is executed and healed perfectly, it will eventually fade and become some barely readable mess- and/or you'll get a cut that turns into a scar which will alter the tattoo.

Great news is that ive come to like the tattoo as it heals.. The 6 is my ocd do you recon if i had it shaded it would cover the 6 .. Or they could go over the line again?

I Have a tattoo from Oliver Peck and it has a mistake in it,but it's a tattoo and I don't dwell on it,

it's no big deal,I have forgotten about it.

tattoos are hand made art on the human body,

that imperfection on your 6 is tiny and not worth stressing over or trying to fix,

relax and move on to your next tattoo.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I think your tattoo looks great, and the size is perfect for your arm. I get the impression you feel it doesn't do your mum justice? Nothing will ever truly compare to her, after all, she was your mum :) but how about seeing your (lovely) tattoo as a starting point?

Did your mum have any particular hobbies or interests, or things/people/pets that meant a lot to her? how about maybe incorporating some ideas into a sleeve and build those around your original tattoo. You could also have fun with it too, by adding little things that just you and your family would understand, but if anyone asked you could explain and then talk about the things your mum loved and enjoyed. If you take your time, I'm sure you could find a fantastic artist who could gradually bring it all together for you.

I have been down the laser route, it was painful, bloody, sore and expensive, I also have a bit of scaring, and its still not gone :( I too went in head first and spent two weeks crying and obsessing over my first tattoo (mine is a genuine disaster zone , unlike yours!) I then spent the next ten years constantly wearing long sleeved shirts, even in the summer. That was it for me, longsleeves4life!... until last Wednesday when I went to a brilliant artist and he made a start on what will be a full sleeve tribute to my pets! and something will be done with that mess on my arm but I'm not sure what yet ;)

It's a long story as to why I got out of my tattoo rut, but the point is, your tattoo is actually good!!! it really is, I think to laser it would be a waste, get planning on some ideas to go with it, enjoy seeing it all come together, have fun with it, research artists and turn it into everything you want it to be.

Thank you for this reply it related to me alot.

Your right i rushed into the tattoo beforehand anyway. I dont even like tattoos, and really wasnt in the right state of mind but someone said get one.. 2 days later I did. The night before i got it i was drawing up designs and thinking but me and my mum never had a great relationship and my mind was frazzled so i went with text as couldnt think of design/quote or something. Was even asking people for ideas. So I agree it doesn't do justice thats probably one of the reasons I hate it. Now thinking about her hobbies hairdressing and we had a dog which was a British bulldog but wouldnt want that on my arm tbh. I too am in a tattoo rut i absolutely hate it and Like you long sleeves do look like summers choice.

Regarding laser treatment, when did you get this done? what are the results? and did you have any colour?

    Thanks for your reply
