  1. Right??! If this is the best she can do that is very concerning. My friend was able to cancel our appointments in time not to pay any penalty so PHEW. I’m officially in charge of selecting the artist. [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My friend made an appointment for the two of us to get these small tattoos we’ve been planning. I liked the tattoo her artist did for her so I was comfortable with her making the appointment. But now that I am looking at the artist’s Instagram, I’m not feeling it. I see some occasional clean line work but also a lot shaky lines and pickups, as well as inconsistent shapes in designs that have repeating shapes (which is especially concerning since the design I want is mostly repeating shapes). Do you think I am being overly critical or does anyone else see what I am seeing? https://instagram.com/nicejestattoos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ETA: Just showed this to some other friends who agreed. We cancelled our appointments. [emoji51]
  3. Thank you!!! I didn't think I'd be able to sit for something like this but I wanted it so bad. [emoji18] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Howdy everyone! I've been lurking since March. I found the LST forum when I was planning my back piece. The back piece experience thread and the ladies thread were instrumental in my prepping and planning - I especially appreciate the insights of GingerNinja! So thank you GN and everyone else on this forum! My favorite style of tattooing is blackwork and I look forward to being completely covered someday. I'm starting with places that stay covered at the office [emoji12] and will move on from there! I just finished my back piece Saturday and will probably move on to one of my legs by next winter. This was done by Hira Lupe at First Class Tattoo in NYC. I'm not putting my butt on the internet [emoji16]so here is a side view: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You can see how the tattoo of the poem on my rib cage intersects with my back piece on the left side. I'm into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm going to be the odd woman out - I love all my tattoos including the 11 year old song lyric tattoo that wraps around my right thigh and the 8 year old song lyric tattoo my right forearm. I always feel the rightness of a new tattoo when I look at it and feel more myself now that I have it. Having said that - if you are having such doubts and concerns that you feel the urge to solicit the opinions of Internet strangers, I'd hold off. FWIW, studies show most people's musical tastes don't diverge after age 33 so you could always make it a bday present for your "Jesus year" if that hasn't passed for you yet.
