Answer is "it depends". A long waitlist doesn't necessarily mean that the artist is super-best. They could just be scheduling one client a day or some weird thing like that. My artist is awesome and I was surprised at the customer service provided and just pleasant demeanor compared to A LOT of others.
If I remember correctly, you're from the B-more area, looking for an arrow/vine tattoo right? So it looks like that artist will give you what you want, but I'm *absolutely certain* you can find someone to do something just as good and maybe even better in less than a year. If, say your personal or professional schedule didn't support then, fine. But, meh. Get what you want without a list. This isn't a Birkin Bag.

I just used this in the search element, but check out the forums, lots of information, albeit some a couple of years old.

Any forum, even those that are "must be a member to post," is going to have people who are going to make negative comments. And some people are going to be blunt in their honest responses, and maybe sometimes a little too blunt.
For example, there are two ways to tell a newbie that traditional tattoos hold up well over the long term:
- "That watercolor s**t is going to look like dog puke smeared on the carpet in ten years, so if you decide to get something stupid like that, don't come back here whining about it and asking how to fix it. Get a REAL tattoo instead of some trendy impressionistic crap that you saw in some fancy magazine."
or...
- "Tattoos without outlines often don't hold up well over time. The ink fades and the images might become indistinct, expecialliy if you spend time in the sun. Take some time and look at some tattoos that are 20 or 30 years old and see what happens to the colors vs. the line work, and then make a decision."
I think the second is a more helpful response. But you are probably going to get some responses like the first one, so you have to have a filter. I have certainly seen some mean spirited responses to sincere questions.
For the most part, I think LST is good and supportive environment.
Needless to say, the members spoke with their feet! There is definitely a lot less activity here now then there was even six months prior. No one cares if the ten active members supporting this forum feel that someone's tattoo is "shitty".

UNFORTUNATELY (or maybe fortunately!),
Since the two names are now *huge* characters in pop culture, you're going to find a lot of "Poison Ivy" and "Archer-Danger Zone!" references.
Have you checked out tattoodo.com?
I use that to throw my design ideas against, and as luck would have it, I'm able to find a ton of artists, and then I plug those artists into Instagram to learn learn more about them.
This is what I pulled up on Google though. ivy plant tattoo

I have posted the artist who will be doing my tattoo. But people are so keen on figuring out who I am instead of actually reading what I put out, it's no surprise (again) that my artist isn't on here.
As far as 10,000 hours (Gladwell), far more goes into that then just a numbers game. As I'm sure you know.
Maybe I'm one who thinks that respect is not "earned", but instead a right bestowed on all our fellow brothers and sisters just from the act of living. Let the cards fall where they may. Again. I think different.

Did you decide on an artist? Also, what other tattoos do you have?
I did decide on an artist. Very excited! I didn't find him on this site though. Not surprised.
As far as showing off current or future tattoos, I'll pass. I could tell your question was cheeky and you guys just aren't open to "newbies" who don't think and act like you.
So we'll just carry on as we have.
Thanks for reviving my thread though! I've really been wondering if I should leave a yelp review about Mushaney.

Well, you did write "this tattoo" rather than "these tattoos"...
I think it's a language thing.

The top one or the bottom one?

Looks interesting to me! But I wouldn't count it as 40K since it's almost all the same tattoos.
-
Nothing in my initiation post was "bad vibes".
Shrug.
Anyway, can't focus on the past! See you around, stalking my posts!

Also, don't be afraid to stand up against bullies who follow you around forums! ??
Dont forget to come back in August and post your touch up *MISSYblue*

I go in for a 'touch up' August third. I love my new tattoo but I want it to be more bold, for lack of a better word. I think the Reason or representation of it is lost because the paws and shoes do not stand out. Does that make sense? I am so glad I found this page, reading the forums and looking at the gallery takes way too much of my time tho lol
I hope all of you have a great day!I'm glad you and all the others agreed with me that it needed to pack a bit more punch. Hopefully when you go back in August, your artist can hook you up with more bold ness to truly represent your loves. Either way, you'll have a great before and even better after!

If it helps, here's one of the first LST threads I ran across when researching tattoo culture, reading will help new folks understand some in-jokes of the forum, and why some terms are preferred: https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/674-slang-terms-that-make-you-cringe/
Also, if anyone happens to be interested in general tattoo vocabulary, here's one of the ones I like: http://www.inkedmag.com/tattoo-lingo/
Welcome!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI did see that, but it's not a glossary.

You also have some more ink at weird places. The first I has extra ink. The second triangle has ink on the right side of it and going into the corner. And the third I also has some ink at the bottom.
Probably a good idea to talk to your artist just to be sure this is all normal, or schedule an appointment for some touchup.
Welcome to the forums!

Hi! New here and I wanted to get on and say I am loving most all of the tats I have seen so far!
Glad I found you! This is a pic of a tat I got about 3 weeks ago. It represents my love of dogs, horses and life. the Red and white in the middle is my ribbon for Aplastic Anemia. I need to have something done to it tho...not sure what.Hey there! Nice "tat", "tattoo", "ink", and other terms that may or may not be allowed to be spoken in these here parts. I didn't notice a glossary in the rules, and believe me I looked.
As far as your "three loves", I'd only wished it packed more punch--only my opinion. The watercolor splatter looks very dainty for your representations. It's still pretty though.

At the same time, be careful what you wish for.

Definitely make good decisions! If not, you'll end up posting a new topic in this sub-forum, or what I've come to refer to as "Tattoo Divorce": *yikes*
