Ah I see, it wasn’t clear whether it was cosmetic or a regular tattoo. Nothing wrong with that if that’s what you want. I don’t have any experience with face tattoos but I imagine you would try and leave the creams for a couple of days before to try and not irritate your skin before being tattooed.

In my experience moisturise 2 to 3 times a day, no more than that. I do twice myself. I believe using too little is better than using too much. You don’t want to clog the skin.

I’m not too sure either what you mean, it sounds like this is a cosmetic tattoo. I don’t really know much about that but I presume they need the same aftercare as a standard tattoo.

It doesn’t sound like he’s a good tattooist at all. If you have many tattoos you know what’s normal so for the pain to be that much he was obviously overworking the skin. When you were asking for breaks you would think he would ask how you were and whether you wanted to carry on. I understand what you mean. You don’t want to be a pain but you want to get the tattoo finished. They really should have said come back another day, it really does sound like they need to learn to tattoo with a different technique. The way it was said makes it seem like he’s proud to be heavy handed, that’s not really a good thing especially for the people getting tattooed.

I can’t see how it’s your fault that you had a big area covered. If you told them that the pain was too much you would expect your artist to try and assist you in some way or let you have a break. Yes I definitely would go somewhere else next time, they don’t sound very good at all.

Yes that definitely looks to be scabbing way too much. As you said you have had work done before and it didn’t feel like this so it must be your artist to blame. I wouldn’t go back to him again!

It’s a tough one, I think you would be better showing a bit at a time but I don’t know if that’s possible. I remember not wanting to show my mum my first tattoo either, its a strange one but I think we are all the same! Lol. :)

I think like others if you want the tattoo bad enough it’s worth the wait. It is a long wait but time will pass, if your heart is set on that artist then it’s probably worth waiting! 🙂

Hi all, new member here. I just had a couple of pieces done. The clock is for my mum who passed away earlier this year and the compass and rose are on the same arm and follow the same theme. The clock is over a month and the compass and rose were just done last week! What do you think of them. Nice to meet you all. 🙂
