I love lettering! Especially well done script. I try and practice everyday. I believe that script can tell a lot about someone's tattoos. I agree with Julio and Mario. Traced, or even photoshopped script lacks soul. If you keep doing it that way, you will never learn.

Oh wait..I'm so out of it. Went to Tres Agaves too. Guac. was great. Also enjoyed some Al pastor tacos.

The only place I made it to was Lulu. It was pretty good. Mussels, Truffle Fries, Buffalo Burgers, and a special dessert tray. We probably got a little spoiled, because my friend's wife works there. I would go back just for the mussels. Yum!

Yay! I'm on the plane right now! I think the shuttle is just from airport to Convention. Not the party.

I think there is a shuttle. Yeah. Thanks. Hopefully I get on a plane TODAY. Ha..Boo!

If I don't keep getting bumped from flights...I will be there. Pray for Me! Stuck in Minnesota now. Missed 1 already.

I remember when seeing a person with neck, and hand tattoos was like "Fuck! Don't Fuck with that Motherfucker!" You either tattooed or were a Hard Man, possibly an Ex-con. Now all these hipsters have some broke ass outline tattooed on their throats. They are trying to get instant street cred or something. Or my favorite, the unfinished, or badly done script chestpiece. When you wear the V-neck that goes down to your solar plexus, it's all in your face. In 5 years they will all be asking for apprenticeships, if they're not already. I waited until I was tattooing professionally for 5 years to go above my collar.

Oh the #6 Murphy. The ones I manufacture.

I actually love getting a free deposit and then taking walk-ins. Usually end up doing more work and the prick that blew you off paid for your lunch that day. Unless it's a design I was really stoked for.

I would say tiny script and other difficult stuff on the ribs.

I hate the dude that wants Dollar signs and references to Big Money and Ballin' tattooed all over. Then the jagoff haggles with you and is broke as fuck. I'm like oh I thought you was Ballin' playah. You better go play at the Flea Market Tattoo Stand. Maybe get come coins instead of paper tatted on you.

I try to do everything I can. I have bills and rent. I'm not the best tattooer and haven't been doing it as long as a lot of you guys. So, if I think I can't do a tattoo justice I will pass it to someone that can. Some people want ghetto ass shit and will get it done from some joker that's gonna probably fuck it up. Or lip tats, etc. So if it's do-able, I will most likely do it. It's also common sense, like don't tattoo some 18 yr old kids face. However if the guy who has a bunch of crap and has done prison time wants a face tat...."Get in the chair bud."

I had an older woman ask if she could waft some sage around my station before I tattooed some symbol on her. Since we were the only ones in there....I was like..."Fine go ahead." Bitch didn't tip either.

I knew this dude that had a T-shirt in the 80's that said "Yngwie Who?" on the front. "Yngwie Fuckin' Malmsteen That's Who!! on the Back. It was Hilarious.

Haha. I love me some Too $hort and Kool Keith. Yeah I get some groans when the Smiths come on.

Ha. My First WAS a tribal dragon on my leg. I was about 18 and the legal age was still 21 in Illinois. I looked really young for my age back then, but I was wearing a Flight Jacket and Doc Martens, so they must've figured I wasn't gonna get the shop in trouble. It was in the old location of The Tattoo Factory, and the guy who did it still works there. It's 16 yrs old, still solid black though.

I cannot believe Mario didn't mention the Smiths, or Morrissey. I guess that's just a given.

I can't work without music playing. I'm sure the rest of you are the same. What are you currently listening to at your workplace? Also, what do you think is appropriate/tasteful? I like to listen to mellow stuff if I am working an early shift. Maybe cut loose a little later in the day. Lately a lot of 60's reggae, Blues, 70's and 80's punk. Not so into tattooing to crazy Grindcore , Death Metal, or Stoner Rock. I also think some of my customers would rather not be tattooed to real loud, brash music. What are YOU currently listening to? Also do you care about what your customers think of your musical tastes?

I'm still friends with my old boss. I gave him the respect of a 2 week notice before I left. I would never talk shit on him, and I don't think he would of me. The place I work now is also on the other side of town. Basically, I think if you are honest and straightforward then you have done all you can. I think some tattooers forget that you have to treat the workplace like...a workplace. Don't just bail on people. Timing is everything also.

I think this was done at a "Tattoo Party." Figures.
