  1. I'd love to protest outside of the TLC offices, but I live too far away. Instead, I'm going to make a page full of pictures of people with banners- a "virtual petition", if you want to call it that. I'll try my best to get it seen by people who really could make a difference. If you'd like to make those "God hates TLC" posters and take a picture of you with them, please forward them on to me! Petitions rock, and I signed the one about this, but I think if everyone tries to do a few things that are a bit different, people will take more notice. :)
  2. Just sit and talk shit all day. I've never had an itchy tattoo, so I'm going to put it down to that being why, as it's basically all I do.
  3. Right now, I am listening to the new Taking Back Sunday album. Shut up, they're good, okay? ;)
  4. Brian, Ursula said she wasn't going to say anything else on this thread. Don't then post up another reply so it looks like you have the last word. And please, don't act like you're the victim of some horrible crime because you've offended people here.
  5. Do short films count here? My best friend just finished working on this really cool short called The Bride of Vernon, and I really loved it. There's only a trailer on the internet for now, though I'm sure there'll be a way for everyone to see it really soon, since he did it for the Northern Film School. Anyway, trailer...
  6. Ursula, have I told you today that I think you rock? Haha!
  7. I really love what you guys have been posting, especially the "chivalry" knuckles! In years to come, when I'm comfortable with my job/have coverage/ the usual stuff, I'll probably just be really unimaginative and get the words "fuck off" on my knuckles, with a small picture to cover the other knuckle. Because let's face it, we all say that at least once a day. Or at least, I hope we all do, if it's just me I'll be even grumpier than I originally thought I was.
  8. I don't have a feeling who redtardy is, why don't you just come out and say what's on your mind, BubbleBerry? Sometimes I see posts like this (and others from very recently), and wonder if a psychologist will be using them for profiling soon. We should probably keep these kinds of threads up to help with their investigations.
  9. I saw this on Facebook this afternoon, and to be honest completely ignored it because I thought it was a joke. I wish I'd been right.
  10. Ah Stewart, I was down there just the other week, haha! Durham itself is a really nice place- I'm no good with places, but I think it's the centre or north of Durham where the university and the cathedral is? Beautiful little place. I forget sometimes that it's a small world. I think your rule of thumb is probably spot on mate! Newcastle has a whole lot of nothing around it, you're right, but I think those who live here have learned where to find where the best places and events are- just like every city, really. I will admit that anyone who reads the local press bollocks about us being a "culture capital" will be pretty damn disappointed. The shittest places definitely foster the best bands- Venom are a great example, because they went on to influence all of those Norwegian metal bands that lived in shit places as well! Sorry, trailing away from the subject here a little.
  11. Wow... I take a break from my computer for just over a day, and out of nowhere threads like this have appeared. Everyone who's replied is spot on here, I suggest you listen to them.
  12. But Alanna I wasn't joking :( Haha okay I was, but I do hate the cat from down the road.
  13. Yeah Stewart, apparently Newcastle has culture. That's what they say, anyway. I mean, yeah we have this huge modern art gallery which apparently Yoko Ono loves (apparently that's a big deal, if you read the local papers), and The Sage venue. No one really goes to them though. Newcastle does try though- we've had a huge world culture food market in the middle of the city lately, which was cool for the kangaroo burgers. Last month we had The Late Shows, which is an annual event where the galleries, museums and independent cinemas have cool things on after hours. So y'know, they do try. I think you just have to sort of look for it! Whereabouts in the North East are you from, mate?
  14. Haha, yes it rhymes with "plunge". I only say it because it sounds just a little less ridiculous than the word "vagina" when said in a Geordie accent! Actually, it doesn't. We just all sound hilarious either way.
  15. Couldn't agree more Pat. I don't understand how people generally don't seem to understand that you're supposed to shut up in the cinema. Once I went to see some cheesy crappy horror film with a friend, and despite it being an 18 cert. film, I'm pretty sure we were the oldest people there. We didn't even find out what the film was about, and my friend almost got hurt in a fight that ended up taking place next to her seat. We may have got our money back, but we didn't get the afternoon back! Lesson learned, though: never go to the cinema on a Saturday afternoon, even if you have been busy through the week.
  16. That seems really cool! I wish more things like this came to Newcastle. Everyone here talks about how rich the culture is up here, but tattoos are always overlooked.
  17. Hawk, you are awesome. :) I can't get over how lovely that gesture is.
  18. That's awesome Ursula! :) My next tattoo is on Monday- which means I will save up bits and pieces from then for a really great patch. You'll get pride of place next to the KISS patch I think, haha!
  19. Haha, not a wardrobe malfunction, she's just a fucking nutter apparently :P Currently enjoying any reaction to the word "clunge".
  20. Dari's patch rocks :) I think once money is coming in for me that doesn't have to go into the "tattoo fund", I'll be on your website to buy something for my leather jacket, for sure :)
  21. My favourite celebrity tattoo is the one Charlie Roberts did on Janet Jackson. She has this tattoo on her hip, where her knickers are, of Minnie Mouse giving Mickey Mouse head. Charlie told us he saw her clunge after he did the tattoo, as well. Badass. Never seen a picture of the tattoo, but I don't even think I need to for that to be my favourite.
  22. I'm pretty much with everyone else here :) If you find a good artist who doesn't want to touch anyone else's work, though, they may soften up a little if you get some more work from them first. The tattooers here may correct me here, though. I only say this because one of my favourite tattooers offered to fix my first tattoo after I got to know her a little and get some tattoos from her. It was a really nice thing to offer, especially since she usually won't touch someone else's work and I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. :) Either way, if you don't want to be tattooed from this guy again (and trust me, I don't blame you), you don't have to be. I also think the scales are a bit crap, so a "semi-cover up" (if that makes sense), if it's possible, may be something which could result in something you're happier with.
  23. Thicker than Water is also a really great studio, I'm pretty sure that's in NYC. Sorry, in a bit of a hurry but you can Google it for a link :) Saved, New York Adorned, Smith St., Thicker than Water and King's Avenue are the five I would recommend looking at. There are some other great studios in NYC, but those are the top five in my opinion. :)
  24. Good luck Deb, I'm sure you'll nail it :)
