8 hours in the chair coming Monday! Another day booked end of the month. If my back gets finished Monday I am deciding between a calf or forearm in a few weeks.
-
I am somewhat of a weirdo in that I look forward to ordeals of all types. I prefer full day sessions because of the ordeal aspect more than the results. I used to run marathons for the same reason. Stay up for weeks at a time, hunger strikes, you name it. I have a masochistic streak or something. Not for intensity, but for endurance.
I don't know if this came from my past (child abuse survivor) or whether it is just an innate aspect of my character.
Anyway, does this resonate with anyone?

Yep, right next to. And the sphinx is right next to a pizza hut. The city is quite a juxtaposition.

I went really just to Cairo, and the surrounding area. Hire a guide if you go, since bribery and connections is the way you get in to see things. Cairo has the great pyramid, the Sphinx, museums, bazaars, and a few lesser known but equally amazing historical sites.

I went and it was awesome and inspiring

Awesome tattoo! I have a black and grey back tattoo also and although I kinda know what you mean feeling like it is less feminine, I try to think of it as classic.
As for adding to it and adding color, only you can truly know what you want.

I did my back long distance, 2 year wait list and he drew it up that morning. It can work out fine, but it is your body and your decision.

great photo!
forearms are a big step. Go with your gut and wait would be my advice.

We all are!

I had my whole back done at that time of the month, unfortunately. Has to schedule 2'years ahead so there was no telling if things would line up and certainly no rescheduling. Worst day of my life, body-wise.

Sorry you had to experience that......owie.

I wouldn't subject your skin to something harsh like nair or waxing for at least two weeks prior either. Your skin needs to be in top shape.

East coast here also....NH

Alberta is beautiful. Reptile nut here also.
I only have a couple small leg pieces, so I am not an expert, but I never shave a healing tattoo- just put up with the itch and let it be is my advice on that.

I am finished my back today but have another day scheduled later this month so now I need to go home and start talking to my husband about whether he will be able to live with a forearm piece on his wife. Each new tattoo requires an awkward conversation. I feel kind of like a freak but he always says get what I want. I never quite believe him though, which is part of my problem I suppose.
