  1. Unfortunately think I think you're right. And I hope that the Tattoo Age doc.s don't go viral and shit, don't get me wrong, but some people don't deserve to get tattooed by some of these great artists, not saying that I even do, but fuck man, I'm scared of how stuffs going. Remember when you had to do your homework to find out whose these people were, then in turn (somehow) earn the right to get tattooed by them. (hope this makes sense, I'm super tired)
  2. Welcome bruva. This is an awesome place. The regulars are great people. Hope to see you around the threads!
  3. I agree the tattoos are super clean and everything, but I grew out of the "new skool" style about 8 years ago.
  4. I am kind of drawn to it even though I hate it. Like looking at a car wreck..lol
  5. I am not into facial tattoos on my self, but I think there is a fine line of what looks good as a facial tattoo and what doesn't. For sure no tribal on the face unless it is your heritage.
  6. Well...I got my first when I was 16 in Sturgis. I'd like to say that my kids would have to wait until they're 18 but since I tattoo and own shop, it will probably be when they're 16.
  7. I think it was about as many times as Oliver said "tats" in his SPT interview!!
  8. I know this isn't a tattoo, but couldn't resist....
  9. I watched 90% of it, but for some reason the DVR didn't record all of it. (maybe it became self-aware)lol I thought it was pretty good. It was alot better than hearing the sob stories of all the other tattoo shows.......it was actually about tattooing. And it wasn't tattoo school. I don't think they put it on the air thinking that actual tattooers would watch it, so of coarse they Hollywooded it up. I will keep watching just for the FAILS.
  10. How long ago did you get it? It could be a combination of things. Your artist my have over worked the area, had a bad needle (a needle with a hook or barb) or something like that, or it could be something you've done. If you have pets, you could have gotten pet hair in it while you were sleeping or really anything for that matter, if you haven't been washing it properly. Lotion is only half the battle. If you put lotion on a dirty surface, it is still dirty. If the tattoo or area around the tattoo is red, feel it to see if it is warmer than the unred or "normal" skin. If it is warm you have an infection. I feel this kind of a grey area. You could wash it multiple times a day for a day or two with Antibacterial soap and pat dry with a paper towel, and see if the heat and redness goes away. IF it were me (and keep in mind this is what I do, and I am sure many people will disagree) If the area is still warm to the touch and the redness hasn't lessened after a day or two washing it as I described, I would put Neosporin or any antibiotic ointment on it. Probably twice the first day and two to three time the second day. That should take the heat out of it and reduce the redness. If it does no good and the redness spreads, GO TO THE Doctor for some antibiotics. And just for the hell of it, call your artist, and see what he recommends. And I am sure your artist will be more than happy to do any touch up work that the heavy scabbing may cause. I would much rather get a "touch up" than get a bacterial or staff infection, fo sho. I hope this helps, and I hope I didn't piss too many members off, lol
  11. I hope I am not limited to one post. One me, Done by me at Patriot Ink Tattoo (self-portrait drawn by my daughter, age 3 at the time)
  12. I think if you like it, fucking get it. Trends, hipsters, tribal, etc will come and go. What about the people getting traditional stuff in the late 80's early 90's when it wasn't "cool" and now it is. Don't get me wrong I have always loved traditional work. I have it and will continue to get it. But I am also starting to get sick of seeing it on fucking everyone. There is always going to be a trend that co-insides with what you already enjoy. Sorry for the rant. And back to the fucking hipsters....
