    Hello, Im new.

    Welcome to the forum!
  3. Wow! It just seems that your body goes into light speed as a reaction to the process and just pushes the amount of plasma just washes the ink out in places. It will be interesting to hear if any of the tattooists here have ever seen anything similar. It certainly proves that we all heal differently. I have only had one done so far but had no plasma during the heal process after the original work and the shading/touch-up.
  4. Less is definitely better when it come to lotion of any kind. Your skin needs air to breath and to heal so drowning it with cream or lotion is counterproductive. I'm about a week and a half into the healing of my touch up and shading on my tattoo and used much less lotion this time - just enough to cover it lightly, gently rubbed in and then I use a clean paper towel to blot any excess off.
  5. And sign him up to be a Maker's Mark Ambassador - it costs nothing to do, they put your name on a barrel plate and after about 7 years you get invited to the factory when the open the barrel and you get to hand-dip two bottles. And, every year they send you a gift during the Christmas holidays.
  6. This made water and cranberry juice squirt out of my nose. Too funny.
  7. Looking forward to the next chapter!
  8. Beautiful work! The colors are amazing for all those years.
  9. I would find a reputable shop with an artist skilled in cover-up work and consult with him/her. It would seem to me that the placement of your existing tattoo and the shape might make a dreamcatcher hard given the amount of open space. But, let the expert figure out what can and can't be done. My artists wanted to wait at least 2 to 3 weeks before doing touch-up work - but we all heal at different rates. Again, the expert can assess your degree of healing and then do the work when it is safe to do so. Good luck and go in with an open mind. If a dreamcatcher isn't possible, there is probably something else that you will like.
  10. I am having that same internal argument. My first is not normally visible in short sleeves - although I openly shared pictures of the process and results on my FB page which is filled with family, friends, students, peers and even some of my board trustees with very little negative reaction. So, as I plan my next I am tempted to go larger to something that will be visible with short sleeves. At my age I don't see going to a half or full sleeve so being able to easily extend isn't an issue. It is all wrapped in whether I want it easily visible or not.
  11. I was just wondering today if they would be added! Thanks!! The site just keeps getting better!!
  12. Leaning this way - have my artist working up something now with some additional cloud work, etc. It really speaks to my military service.
  13. Welcome to the forum, Robin!
  14. Congratulations and welcome. But, let me be the first to mention...................pictures are required!!!! lol
  15. I keep coming back to look at your pieces. It gives me inspiration for my next - definitely going traditional.
  16. We just started the process of booking our next trip to Antigua - probably in November. That means I need to schedule my right arm work in time to be healed so I can swim. Woo hoo!
  17. I'm now at the point in my life where I can really enjoy things - I don't have the pressures of young children, planning for retirement, having to work to pay off college loans, etc. I work now because I love what I'm doing. We crew for a hot air balloon company because we love being outside with the people, getting the exercise, and getting to fly from time to time (although the day we lifted off with the temperature at -14F was a bit of a shock). Even getting my first tattoo came as I looked at my bucket list and realized this was something I have wanted to do for years and now I can - and what others think and say have no impact on me at this point in my life and career(s). Age IS just a number in many respects.
  18. I've had a bunch of people want to touch mine, as well. But, the reason is that they don't believe it is real. Despite posting pics on my FB page during the process of having mine done, people still think it was an April fools joke and it was just temporary. They want to touch it to prove that it is real. Now that I'm healed, I honestly don't care so I'll happily pull up my sleeve and let them look/touch. I enjoy seeing he reaction on their faces when they realize it IS real.
