  1. Scott Sylvia is the theme for this month's tattoo, right?
  2. I think Myra has a pretty strong following through the South East, especially with women. She also has a heavy following in California due to her "older" style and darker color palette. Her work is phenomenal, seriously world class in my opinion. I typed in "Myra" and "Myra Oh" was the second thing in the search recommendations her instagram was number four.
  3. Bless this tattoo, bless it so much. I saw it and flashed back to W+G going to the moon for cheese.
  4. The closest I'm getting to a tattoo this year looks to be the plane ticket for my consultation in March I'm buying tomorrow. Between my other hobbies and being a college student I really don't have to worry about pacing myself, my life budgets my tattoos for me
  5. Cool, glad I can actually participate instead of just posting about my oogling like I usually do. I got it in April of 2014 and that feels like it was an eternity ago, I was even more of a youngin' then. Lars Lundquist at Inksmith & Rogers Admittedly I never took a good healed photo, so the one straight off the table will have to do.
  6. What made you do the first one. How did it feel?
  7. I think the depiction of the Hannya is super cool, if Hannya existed that bottom one is how I would picture them looking. Super gruesome and malformed.
  8. You might not feel like it right now but, it looks like you made out like a bandit if the least accessible area of your body is healing that well. I hope when I come to this forum to commiserate I look similar.
  9. I'm giving you a fair warning, I want to steal your dog.
  10. I almost spit on my screen from laughing
  11. can we get another shot so we can see the entire picture?
  12. That is killer, can't wait to see it healed up.
  13. I remember all the pain, I'm not stoked about the memories. I still get tattoos by artists I like regardless of how hard it is to sit through it, I just maybe got a little rant-y about it. I completely trust you when you say Chad still heals well and is worth the cost of admission, I just got a little defensive about the subject I guess. I can agree I put more emphasis on the outcome and bond after the tattoo. At least everyone here is honest about tattoos hurting, anyone that says otherwise is a liar.
  14. Not intending to be confrontational but, I don't care about having "earned" my tattoos, the easier the experience and less trauma caused by the end of the tattoo the better for me. If I can get my tattoos bright & bold with a quarter of the pain and have them heal twice as fast then I'm going to take that. I get the "you earned it" thing I'm just not huge on it; I'm happier to earn my tattoo by having the money, time, and commitment instead of the pain threshold, adrenaline, and healing factor. This all being said I'm still likely to get a Chad tattoo, just not as quickly, because his work and lifestyle both bring to mind the folk art feel that tattooing has to me.
  15. This makes me second guess getting tattooed by Chad, I take on trauma so easy that I frequently say " I bruise like a peach". That Tattoo is seriously good though. Beautiful and tough man, that is a tattoo to be proud of.
  16. Finally, I called State of Grace today and Horitomo's assistant picked up the phone and I called the day she was making appointments. She was really happy to book me the moment I called since I asked for a MonMonCat back piece. I fly out mid-march for consultation since I want to meet and talk in person for the consultation.
  17. I was thinking Bert or Spider Murphy but they are just guesses.
  18. thats what i thought but, some people take things differently and having some advice from LST makes me feel better about calling up instead of biting my nails
  19. Dang, Annie Frenzel hasn't gotten back to me about the upcoming Tampa con next weekend. Also curious as to when I will ever get the call from Horitomo, I was supposed to get a call in August, I'm not super familiar with these kinds of tattoo appointments is it acceptable to call the shop and see what is going on, I have been saving all my money for this back-piece for an entire year.
