  2. Yeah, I believe somewhere on the website instructions it recommends taking the wrap off in the shower. So I'm sure that would make it a bit easier.
  3. Most of this was drawn on by hand. He did have a "mock up" that he did on his iPad but it didn't have color.
  4. I texted a bit with my artist and we kinda have a basis to begin with. The "horns" (for lack of a better word) will hopefully take on a stainless steel type look with reflections of the surrounding colors. I'd like to go with a blue/ purple type scheme on those surrounding colors. Also figured on using some complimentary colors form the color wheel to act sort of as a background glow to the blues/purples scheme.... Next session is Saturday. I'm anxious and excited to get started!!
  5. I left it on just shy of 3 days. It was getting a bit uncomfortable and irritated. BUT, when I took it off it was just about completely healed.....zero, and I mean zero scabbing. There was a little peeling for a few days but I was happy with the results after just a few days of use. My next session is this coming weekend and I'm going to use it again. I'll report back after then.
  6. I like incense but I'm not sure I'd want to be sitting in a room, being tattooed and having it right there. Maybe if it were in the lobby/waiting area of the studio....
  7. Thanks...yeah, I'm definitely going to have the conversation with him to see what his thoughts were. I can see how the right color choices may help ease the transition from the darkness and foreground feel of that area.
  8. I'm in the middle of a half sleeve cover-up tattoo of some music notes on my shoulder that I got about 20 years ago. The cover up is a bio-mech theme tattoo. You can see the notes In the pic but lower, near the elbow, the artist put a large black spot that isn't part of the cover up. TBH, to me is sticks out like a sore thumb. Partly because there isn't any colors next to it. Right now the tattoo is only outline and shading. My next session is in a week and we will be adding color this time. I'm a bit self conscious about the large black spot. Am I over-reacting? The tattoo is quite large and in context it may not be as big a spot as I think it is but I can't help looking directly at it every time I get out of the shower and look in the mirror. I guess my question is: Do we think that once some color and depth is in the tattoo it could possibly minimize the "largeness" of the spot? And also what colors might help to draw the eye away? I'm familiar with the complimentary color wheel but usually that means putting a lighter color next to a darker so something pops in he tattoo. I'd like to do the opposite.....maybe some purples or blues etc.... Thoughts?? Thanks Here are some other angles too:
  9. Dad really draws the short stick here, doesn't he?
  10. Wow 17 hrs...that guy is a trooper! I know my artist has the numbing cream because we talked about it but I haven't felt the need for it. I've done about 5 hours in one sitting and even though there were some sensitive areas (elbow, inner bicep) I haven't felt like I just couldn't take it. In a sadistic kind of way I sort of like the pain. Lol
  11. I got my first tattoo in my early 20's and I didn't even consider what my parents would think. I know my Mom doesn't really like them and my Dad told me he always wanted one but just never got it done. TBH, to me it doesn't really matter what others think.
  12. I think blacking out the whole arm is possibly not enough...the op may want to consider blacking out the opposite side calf as well...you know, so it doesn't look so lopsided.
  13. I hadn't thought of taking a pain Med prior to a session. My only concern with that is that they thin the blood....did you notice more bleeding than usual?
  14. Just put a circle around it and add "Motley Crue"....then you're golden.

    Hello

The lumpiness is normal. Tattoos don't cause cancer (afaik). I know several people that still, after many years get spots that get bumpy at times. Maybe due to humidity or some other environmental factor. My first tattoo did that for a few years after I got it but doesn't anymore.
  16. I had a dream a few nights ago and in the dream I saw somebody with you're tattoo on their upper back. Lol. In the dream it looked awesome!!
  17. Now that about 10 days has passed there is absolutely no irritation any longer. The peeing is done and I had zero scabbing. I'm going to use it again after my next session in a few weeks.

    hello

Wow Mark, that's a powerful story. Thank you for sharing that.
  19. What would be a normal time frame to see it clear up? It's been 24 hrs and it still a bit irritated. Edit: now after about 36 hrs I see noticeable improvement. I have some minor irritation still and on my shoulder cap and crease of he elbow a couple minor breakouts. Probably from a little dirt/oil getting trapped in from the bandage.
  20. So I used saniderm on my tattoo from my last session on Sunday. I took it off last night (Wednesday). I will say that there is zero scabbing. I was and still am I little itchy though. The biggest concern it's that my skin is very irritated from it. A few blotchy, red spots that are also itchy. It's much better now, about 12 hours after I took it off but still it's irritated. It did a great job healing the tattoo ( I have some very minor peeling going on) but I may possibly be slightly allergic to it. Which would be unusual for me. I'm not usually allergic to many things outside of seasonal allergy type things.
