  1. If I were getting tattooed in California in August I would try and get in with Jeff Rassier.
  2. I say get things as you get them, and don't worry about the space or size. I think some of the coolest tattoos I have ever seen are the ones that are worked into odd spaces.
  3. I think a lot of bad tattoo stories start with "I went to a friends house to watch a UFC fight." I have a couple of those stories myself.
  4. If I were the Police I would look for her anywhere that serves white wine at lunch. She looks like the type.
  5. I just tried to post it, but I am having some troubles. I will try again tomorrow. It has been a long candy-fueled Easter around here, and now the kids are in bed and my wife will smash this computer over my head if I don't close it, and spend a little time with her. Speaking of which, shouldn't you be out having a nice quiet birthday dinner with your wife.
  6. The only thing I browse when I am flying is a Bloody Mary.
  7. I am the same way. I was raised to believe that any discussion of money, outside of close friends and family, was rude. I realize that there are many situations that this is not true, and paying for a tattoo is one of them, but it is hard to shake things that are ingrained in you. I think that it is a big part of Southern culture. Never talk about money, never ask someone who they are going to vote for, and never send food back in a restaurant, no matter how bad it is.
  8. I don't know if that guy is $150/hr. I bet he is $200 or a bit more. Everything costs more in New York.
  9. I was in there yesterday, and I thought there might be chance you guys would come by. Bob has the set he did with Richard and Aaron up in his station, and I was staring at it the whole time I was getting tattooed. I love that set. Hope you are enjoying Sunny California.
  10. Thanks Ross. I looked at a lot of different stuff, but kept coming back to this one. I really enjoyed looking through Bob's old stencils. I just returned home a couple of hours ago and I am exhausted, but I will email you in a day or two with a couple of good stories about my trip.
  11. Got this from Bob Roberts today. It was a good time at Spotlight. Bob was super nice and cool, and I also got to talk with Grant Cobb, who was really nice as well. And he is great tattooer if you are not familiar with his work you should be.
  12. Let me know if you come up for it. I don't know if I am going to go, but I probably will.
  13. I got my first big tattoo at True around 2003 or 2004. It was a great shop back then.
  14. I think that Chris is changing up his style a little bit. At least that is what i gathered from his blog. If you are in Virginia you may want to contact him about getting tattooed there. I have never heard of him going back down there to tattoo (at least not in recent years), but he is from Richmond. It is a long shot for sure, but maybe worth a try.
  15. Do whatever you want in this life, but do not bitch about it when someone else doesn't like it. Discrimination is walking through a gated community, being shot and killed, and the police not doing shit about it. Being asked to leave a job that you were not getting paid for is a gift.
  16. Sorry to hear it. On the upside Matt Arriola just moved back to Seattle so that should make getting your torso tattooed a little bit easier.
  17. Looks great. Did you hear anything else from Bob?
  18. I don't think that i have ever seen any photos from Bob's New York shop (apartment). I wonder why he spelled it Spotlite then, and changed it to Spotlight in Los Angeles. No matter how you spell it I am excited to be getting tattooed by Bob in a couple of weeks.
  19. I walked in there and got tattooed right away, but that was almost three years ago. If it isn't working out you could head over to Bert's shop, Top Shelf, in Queens.
  20. Matt Arriola, Scott Harrison, Chris Garver
  21. No border crossing necessary, just get within a couple of hundred miles.
