  1. if you dont mind the drive i would vote for dave fox. i love his punkish take on trad japanese.
  2. Latest addition on my Japanese deity sleeve done by Robert Pho. First pass. Sorry for the crappy pics. Shots of the rest of my arm:
  3. kinda interesting the bio makes no mention of horitaka apprenticing under horiyoshi iii
  4. when i got my ass done it stuck to my underwear and it was NOT fun peeling it off... i also had to wrap saran wrap on my toilet seat to deuce. if i can find a way to heal with the dry wrap method on my ass i would, but seems kind of impossible to me.
  5. to me it means more of picky in terms of my artist choice.
  6. thanks @hogg! i cant wait to get it finished!
  7. my boy got on his list at the SOG convention a couple years ago and grime actually called him a few months later because of a cancellation. so it is definitely possible. - - - Updated - - - only thing confirmed is my next gogue session but it isnt until oct/nov. i plan on getting in another session from carlos torres, jess yen, robert pho this year tho.
  8. hi sorry for the short post i was on my phone. i currently have 140+ hrs on chair time from nate beavers, aaron bell, johan finne, paco dietz, robert pho, phil garica, cecil porter, jess yen, jeff gogue, carlos torres. i also have a pending consultation with shige. this forum looks really cool.
  9. nice! i love his line work. its so clean. would also like to see a pic of the conn tattoo. isnt he charging some crazy rates since returing to tattooing?
  10. Thank u for the kind words! I can't wait to finish it but I have so many on going tattoo projects it's hard to prioritize them! The tebori method is a unique experience. the only part that he did tebori was the flames. Took him 2hrs just for the flames. Some places were virtually pain free while near the ribs was very unpleasant. It's cool because u can hear the popping sound of the skin breaking. They say color stays bolder with tebori also but I can't say if that is true or not.
  11. Mods please move if needed. Well these really arent my latest as I just got some work done by robert pho. In the future I'll post my previous work in that thread. I would like to point out that both of these pieces are in progress with lots to go. Thank you for the kind words.
  12. I hope I am posting in the right place. Done by jeff gogue took about 4.5hrs Done by carlos torres, second session about 8hrs in so far Thanks for looking.
  13. After using the "standard" aftercare method for a long time (wash 3x a day and use aquaphor until peeling and switch to unscented lotion) I started using the dry wrap method and I will never go back. Heals a lot faster.
  14. im surprised no one has mentioned terry ribera at remington. i know some mentioned guru, and i vote for honkey kong from guru.
  15. Yeah seems a lot more active with knowledgeable collectors here. Your back piece is looking amazing! - - - Updated - - - thought i would share pics of my back piece. so far about 20hrs in done by horiyen.
  16. I got this shampoo/lotion applicator with a curved handle from bed bath and beyond that works like a charm. Was recommended to me by someone from another forum. I'll try to find pics of it, I highly recommend it. - - - Updated - - - i found it
  17. My sleeve is also not one cohesive theme or style. The upper part of my sleeve is bio gears the lower part is japanese done by 4 different artists but I think it turned out well. As long as you have good artistd they should be able to make it visually appealing.
  18. hey im from oakland also. temple is a great shop. i have work from only one artist from the bay. the rest of my ink is from artists outside the bay area (big majority of them from so cal).
  19. i have over 140hrs of ink and so far the most painful spot for me was my ass and the spot right above my ass crack. my ribs and stomach were a breeze (different artists) but i think it has a lot to do with how heavy/light handed the artists are.
  20. @WeRnDoG, who is doing your back piece? You should post on ET more! I didn't even know u had a back piece started!
