  1. I am from Germany and it the same here. A lot of great talent, but also tattooist that are so miserable, how anyone within their righteous mind would get tattooed by them is a mystery to me. I have been following the career of this tattooist for several years. He lacks even the most basic drawing skills and cannot draw a straight line. He started with a mobile tattoo studio, then opened his own studio a few years ago. So the conditions in which he works might have improved a bit, but unfortunately the quality of his tattoos has not. What is even more worrying than the quality of his tattoos, is how many positive comments he gets for his work on facebook. http://mobilesmetall.blogspot.de TATTOO & PIERCING STUDIO LAUTERBACH https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tattoo-Studio-Lauterbach/219664431427169 A few of his gems:
  2. This is really a great thread, always nice to be pointed to some new artists. Another artist from Poland. Sebastian Abramczuk at Studio Tattoo Gonzo, Sczeczin, Poland. http://www.tattoogonzo.pl
  3. I know :D But for some of my favorite artists I couldn't even say if they are famous or not, because I don't put much attention to that, as long as their work touches me. Of course with some artists it's very obvious like the people from Miami Ink and LA Ink etc.
  4. Tom Renshaw, at Ironclad Tattoo Co., 3871 Rochester Road, Troy, MI. htttp://www.ironcladtattoo.com https://www.facebook.com/IroncladTattooCo http://www.tomrenshaw.com https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tom-Renshaw-Tattoos/141914429240104 Please forgive my posting his name in this thread, he does get quite a bit of recognition, so he probably should not be in here. But he is one of my two or three all-time favorite tattoists and my favorite tattooist for portraits. I cannot express how much I love his tattoos, they are so subtle like pencil drawings on the skin.
  5. Another option would be that everyone gets a piece of one tattoo, so that it is only complete when you are together. I think this is actually on one person, but you get the idea. This is way too extreme for my taste, but shows really well what is possible. both are not mine
  6. Sorry, I just saw that know. Would be great if one could view the list by style as well. I know most tattooists are allrounders anyway, but maybe for the most popular styles like oldschool, realistic/portrait.
  7. I think it would be very helpful if the tattooers/shop list would be categorized either by state/country or by tattoo genre (allround, oldschool, portraits...). I don't know if that's possible, but think it would be a lot easier to read this way and more people would benefit from it as a starting point in their search for a good tattooist.
  8. Some cover ups which I think are pretty well done. unfortunately there is no before picture for this one, but there was some big and dark tattoo before
  9. Marc, Tattoo Galerie Bochum, Germany Tattoo-Galerie-Bochum http://www.facebook.com/MAW72 Although his speciality is oldschool, he pulls off most styles really well. I have honestly never seen a bad tattoo by him. Here are some examples of his work:
