  1. @LDesp - as long as you don't have a burn and your skin is healthy, get the tattoo. Just going forward, it's best to keep it under wraps or under sunscreen. I have to admit that this summer I've been extra liberal with sunscreen on my leg where my next tattoo is going!
  2. Welcome! Sorry it has taken so long for a response. Ask away! And share your tattoos!
  3. Hmmm. Live fish on the back, dead fish on the front. This could be the start of a bad theme. O.o
  4. Wonderful to see this done! I just love this design - the colors are spectacular and maple leaf accents - those huge paws - you've heard me drool over this before, but congrats finishing it up!
  5. Love the orange color and texture, @Piha - it must feel great getting that color going.
  6. You have a good memory! Yes, My appointment with Horitomo is September 23 and I will join you in the club. They don't offer you to see a sketch until 2 days prior but I am coming in from out of town and they are closed the day before my appointment. So I won't see it until I actually go in for the tattoo. :-( But Molly said I couldn't really change anything anyway except for minor things like color, so I'm hoping he just knocks it out of the park the first try! We talked about it in some detail, and I think I know the picture I sent that will be the cat's face and expression, and my cat loved her shrimp sushi, so I know they will have considered something like the Sushi Cat print. I am getting excited!

  8. Bitter-sweet, eh? Enjoy that last session. I was on a cloud going into my last session and I thought, "Hells, I'm so far in and so high on a cloud (not recreationally-induced) that this isn't gonna hurt as badly the last session." Well, not really. :D But it certainly helped my spirits deal with it a little better. ENJOY! I can't wait to see it done!
  9. @Shaggy - wow that is amazing! So much color and so readable from a distance. I remember we started our backs the same month. Very cool to be finished, right? Enjoy that amazing piece!
  10. @Breakme - I love your arm. Softer designs and nice negative space. I would lay out something like this if I did a sleeve. So nice.
  11. Yeah, somewhere Steve said that there are not enough submissions lately so it is stopping, and perhaps returning in another form in the future. I shoulda submitted my unhealed pic earlier in the year. Maybe they'll make it like a convention and run it every 3 months or something, and have more categories so big doesn't blow away small as often.
  12. Ahhh, SO COOL! I was wondering when you had your session with her. This is very cool - I love that it is a fish. Becca's stuff is so clean and with such character. You've got a really great and unique one there! - - - Updated - - - Thanks, @Cork, it took forever to get some good healed pics. But there is no more LST contest. :( :( :(. No T-shirt for me. Sniff Sniff. - - - Updated - - - Thanks, man. It blows my mind looking at it - it seems fake that this is on my back.
  13. Thanks, @Rob I, that's what a lot of folks say. We joked that I should hidden Waldo in there somewhere! Yeah, it was a hell of a haul alright Glad I only have one back. :D
  14. Well, I FINALLY got healed pics and I planned on September, but it appears that the contest has stopped just when I was ready to enter. :( :( :(
  15. @abeukeveld - killing it - I love these morphs. Great colors!

  17. I second @pidjones on this one. There are some that look like cargo pants. We've used them when we had to pack very lightly or wanted to convert from pants on the plane to shorts on arrival somewhere ridiculously hot. Of course, with some, you will look like you are on safari.
  18. @Cork - cool - thanks for posting all those pictures in one place. I have all that somewhere, and will put it together sometime. It's pretty amazing to look at the progression, and at least for me, realize what your thinking was between each session. Like not knowing where the next session would go, and thinking you had a clue but then he'd go off in a different direction. And seeing those really horrible sessions just after and wondering how you made it through, and the ones that moved you emotionally. Having all those pics together can be an emotional overload. Thanks for doing that - it is such a personal thing. And, of course, the last picture is the bestest! Congrats to you both (well, all three of you!) @cltattooing - wow, wow wow!!! The linework is amazing. So intricate and the design flows so nicely over your body. Hella butt cheeks! I can't wait to see this one with color - I've never seen anything like it before. I can't really even put the words together - just can't wait to see this progress. Congrats! @BrianH - You are moving right along - I think I've missed your last blog entry. All that shading is crazy - gonna make the dragon really pop. Wow. Holy cow - I get pulled away from LST for a couple weeks and all this crazy shit goes down!
  19. Sorry - I gotta double post - this is over in http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/15-latest-tattoo-lowdown-page810.html#post119681 Final healed pics! Go consult with another artist. Sorry how it turned out for you.
  23. You might have to do a secondary peel. 8 days isn't very long yet, so don't get worried. There is likely still a think layer of skin making things look hazy that has to come off so give it some time. (My scabs, and I got at least a little one or two every session, generally took 2 weeks to fall off. The haziness can last longer too.)
