  1. I was searching the internet, the other night, for any information on the history of tattooing in the UK, when I stumbled on this. It’s a tattoo museum in Liverpool , UK. On the site they had some photos of antique tattoo machines powered by clockwork. I would have though these predate the electric tattoo machine and were made by a company called Newton & Wilson. Further searches on the internet indicates they specialised in making sewing machines. Does anyone know anything about these or this type of machine. Where they used in the USA? Did they catch on for a short while before becoming made obsolete by the advent of the electric powered version.? They look as if they are beautifully made and were probably quite expensive. I’m fascinated by old stuff like this, although my thing is restoring antique firearms. I thought I would post some photos on here, courtesy of the Liverpool Tattoo Museum. www.Tattoomuseum.co.uk tattoo museum liverpool - Milton Zeis. There’s of lot of other interesting stuff on the site, as well.

  5. Nothing wrong with granola or muesli. My favourite ones are made by Dorset Cereals. Don't know if you can get them were you are.
  6. It is a worrying trend. Tattooers that knowing tattoo under age teenagers usually turn out shit work as well. Good to see you've been tattooed at a great studio. I've got a couple of tattoos done by Stefano. He turns out some very nice work. My avatar is a tattoo by Stefano. It would be really nice to see your tattoo on the LST gallery.
  7. I was sorely tempted abees looks like a great book. I'm saving my pennys at the moment but this one is now definately on my wish list.
  8. Wow that looks sore. I'm sure it'll be worth the suffering when its done.
  9. It's called brockwurst because its made from the same material (Collagen) used in the manufacter of brockwurst sausages. Brockwurst skin reacts in a very similar way, to human skin, when tattooed. You could try buying some from any good tattoo shop, in Berlin. They probobly won't sell you any unless you are a bona fide tattoo artist.
  10. The other thing that always impresses me, in Porterhouse, are the bar staff. You are never standing around for ages waiting to get served. Very often they'll have two orders on the go at the same time and even though its really busy the bar staff will remember what your previous order was. I know, in the USA for example, thats pretty much the norm but compared with the usual service you get in many bars & pubs in the UK it always impresses the hell out of me.
  11. Dosn't look like it. Asda have got bottles, 3 for £4 (£1.33 each) advertised on their website.
  12. Is that The Porter House, Temple Bar in Dublin? If it is they also have one in Covent Garden. They have a fantastic selection of lagers and ales, including a lot of their own beer on tap. Great bar it gets really packed
  13. The Hawksmoor is my favourite steak restaurant in London. Thats a really good menu at Aunties & Uncles, good value as well.
  14. Rude Boy also sends me messages. He likes Slim Fast & peanuts, but dosn't like cashews. Weird, how can you like peanuts but not like cashews? Beats me.
  15. Work of art on a plate Next time in in London. Breakfast at Hawksmoor, Spitalfields. £35 for two. Smoked Bacon Chop, Pork Beef and Mutton Sausages, Black Pudding, Short Rib Bubble & Squeek, Grilled Bone Marrow, Baked Beans, Fried Egg, Grilled Mushroom, Roast Tomatoes, Unlimited Dripping Toast and HP Onion & Bone Marrow Gravy.
  16. Hope you're feeling better Mel. Rude Boy says hi

  20. I'm watching a TV show on the Food Channel at the moment. Some comedian called Zane Lamprey who visits Belgium, checking out various beers. Theres one on at the moment that sells for $60 a bottle in USA. WTF. Anyone on here like Belgian beer? I love the stuff. One of my favourites is Le Chouffe blonde. Looks like its quite expensive in the USA. Orval is about $6 a bottle ,
  21. No but I can get some. Beers of Europe, in the UK can get 8 of the Brooklyn Brews including Summer Ale. Many thanks I'll put some of these on my order.
  22. That must have cost you. That shit costs £51 a bottle in the UK. Does it have a smokey flavour?
  23. It is unintentionally funny. Well that’s 30 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. The Eagle & Pharaohs Horses tattoo was tattooed by the very lovely Niki Balls.
