    Who are you?

Nick, you're the only person other than my friend JR who i've ever heard of from Nyack! If you ever go back there for visits you should check out his shop it's called Vanguard tattoo.. anyways I'm Ursula, I'm 27 and a lady and I'm from Canada. Born in the city, lived in the country growing up then moved to Toronto. I started getting piercings and tattoos at age 15, should have waited. My want for tattoos randomly brought me into TCB tattoo in Toronto which is where I learned about good tattooing and realized how shitty the ones I had already were. I started getting tattooed there regularly and ended up meeting my dude there while he was doing a guest spot. A year later I moved to be with him in Jacksonville FL, home of Inksmith and Rogers tattoo where I had my mind once again ripped apart by the quality of the tattooing there. I've worked counter in a couple shops here and there but mostly try to focus on making a career from my artwork. I have two dogs, a beagle and a staffordshire bull terrier. No kids and likely never will. At the moment I'm stuck in Canada waiting on a fiancee visa so I can come back to the USA (havn't been home since January boooo). My mom, grandma and I live in a house built in 1886 and have a gift store in a house from the same era. We've got a giant veggie garden and a shitty brown cat that will only drink from the tap. Other than that I make a blog and I like eating bacon.
  7. Invitation only in most cases means you have to be invited to have a booth to preform tattoos or sell artworks. Any member of the public is free to purchase a weekend pass and stay for as little or as long as they please. Have you guys been to a convention before? It's not always very easy to watch people tattooing at conventions. They are usually in the back part of the booth behind their portfolio table. It's hard to get close enough to really watch without being in the way (ie:blocking the front of the booth from potential paying customers, or just taking up room in the generally small booths). This doesn't mean you can't learn at a convention and I do hope you both attend. The best thing to do would be watch from a respectful distance for short periods of time. If someone asks if you are an apprentice be honest about it. Don't stand there for an hour with your jaw on the ground like a jackass, basically. If someone seems even in the slightest way like they might be annoyed by your presence just walk away and don't say anything. Don't ask them questions about either, most probably won't like that. Just watch, quietly, politely, and from a spot that gives them all the room they need. If you are going because you want to meet people and network, save it for the parties that usually happen after the convention, people are a lot more open when they've had a couple drinks and arn't focusing on making tattoos/money.

  9. the aqua to yellow in the rose is dope, i like the orange highlights too. the shading on the neck is really nice
  10. Shouldn't you be too busy crying in your pillow about being made fun of in highschool ?!?!?! I know I am.. anyways done hi-jacking... return to your latest tattoo stories, I can't contribute as I haven't been tattooed in ages.
  11. Mr. Blaze, if you are a real person, I'm sorry but your tattoos suck. Your grammar, spelling and use of capitalization also suck (maybe even more than the tattoos). You're the one who wanted to post pics and get our opinion so badly. Well we gave it, honestly. Attacking people because they don't like your horrible tattoos isn't going to keep any one here up at night, trust me. If you aren't a real person, then here's your trophy for second best troll (number one still goes to Mr. Bubble) (can't believe i just google image searched 'shit')
  12. Anyone fancy a game or two? my screen name is Ursula Wizard
  13. He's got a profile, he just doesn't post.. I dunno if he reads.. if he does though "HEYYYYY DOUGGGG" hahaha
  14. I'd suggest looking through some tattoo book supplies to see if there any re-prints. The only original stuff I've seen was traded from tattooer to tattooer. It wasn't even a full flash sheet just a line drawing on the back of something else. There's probably someone out there somewhere who'd let you have something for the right price, likely gonna be hard to find though.
  15. I hate to break it to you, but even after posting those photos people are still going to think it sucks... because it kind of does... It looks very very typical of the work that most home 'artists' produce. There is a reason that guy doesn't work in a shop and it's probably not entirely because of his apparent murder conviction. I would suggest you take a look through some of the other members galleries to get an idea of the type of tattooing that most people here are aiming for. There's also some amazing artist interview videos you can watch to give you an idea of what a real artists looks/acts/sounds like. The bottom line though is, if you think your tattoos are good and you like them a lot then that's all that matters because it's your skin and you can wear whatever you'd like. I've got a couple pretty shitty tattoos too :)
  16. soooooo.... I guess that dude read my message and though hmm she wants to see pics, I should send her some.. My inbox was delighted to receive this gem "subject : cant post pics its making my posts with links/image codes to be approved by a moderator:: heres part of my back arm piece" I'm not joking. This did happen.
