  1. Another fellow teacher here (kindergarten). Hi!!!! Very cool tattoos.
  2. Ha, know what you mean about 5 weeks feeling like forever. I know everyone's pain threshold is a little different but I wouldn't worry too much about the arms. Based on my own experience and what I've heard, it's not bad at all. What images are you getting?
  3. I'm of the opinion that cats are pretty much the greatest creatures ever, and hi! :-)
  4. Saw this cool one by Bryan Randolph on Instagram today:
  5. That doesn't look right. Where did you go for your tattoo?
  6. Don't worry, just wait for it to heal. After about 3 weeks, see how it looks. If there is a problem, contact your tattooer.
  7. ???? Um, I wouldn't know. Is he? I didn't know there was a Nocturno Culto until I googled him just now: https://www.google.com/search?q=Nocturno+Culto&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=8ojdUr7yEoTroATfyYGQDg&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=953&bih=459 He doesn't work at my school. Aha! Yes, he currently works in Norway as a school teacher. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocturno_Culto
  8. Are administrators lenient about visibly tattooed teachers in Norway? I read an article recently about how great the school system is there. I'm a kindergarten teacher and my tattoos haven't been a problem, but I mostly cover them. I think I would have to wait until retirement for hand tattoos.
  9. @iowagirl & @graybones I have printed, resized, reprinted, cut out, and taped numerous images to my body. It never quite works in showing what it would look like as a tattoo since the paper is always awkward and the background is too white, but it gives some idea of how it could look and maybe more than anything works in getting me psyched!
  10. that's the title of the thread but from what I recall that thread has opinions in it too.
  11. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/4088-how-do-these-special-tattoo-days-work.html
  12. Sounds pretty silly. Where did you read that?
  13. http://www.tattooset.com/images/tattoo/2012/09/10/9390-bearded-lady-tattoo-by-valerie-vargas_large.jpg Well then, here's a lovely one by @Valerie Vargas.
  14. Yeah I just posted it for the humor aspect. Hubby and I found it funny. The ppl being polled clearly don't know their ass from their elbow.
  15. Some real groundbreaking data driven findings here. Somehow I don't think me and my beardo, @DJDeepFried, are the only horrible couple on LST who are defying the laws of passion as reported by worthy news source Mail Online. All we can say is it's a good thing we found each other and are able to see past these grotesque flaws. ;) Why bearded men and tattooed women are guaranteed passion killers | Mail Online
  16. He's there right now. Just texted me. Seemed pretty stoked. The stencil fit first try even though all of their pre-planning was done via email. Me: I can’t wait to see the dragon’s face! DJDF: It's sick. Just like I imagined/wanted. I am just as excited about him getting a new tattoo as myself. I'm so selfless. :D
  17. I don't know, there are so many images that could represent love or family--and you would know that it represented your adoptive parents and the love and respect you have for them without being limited by that flat design. A cluster of roses, for example, one for each of you... or, well, the possibilities are endless.
  18. On another note, @nomadland, I live in LA and I never heard of Jun Cha before but looking at his work I see he is amazing! I can see why you go to him. His work reminds me of James Spencer-Briggs who did my whole left arm. Not sure if you've ever seen his work: JAMES SPENCER BRIGGS or https://www.google.com/search?q=james+spencer+briggs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0evRUvOLNNLqoATYq4DgAg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=953&bih=461 Looks like they both learned from/worked with Chuey Quintanar.
  19. While we are not supposed to talk $$ here, I say a definite yes. In the US tipping is pretty customary and not tipping tends to mean you are dissatisfied. Personally I tip 20% but amounts are up to you. Wait, did you just say $5,000? When I first read it I thought it read $500. 20% on $5,000 would be quite a lot.
  20. Ok, so I just have to ask you CT people if you've ever been to the Durham Fair? My home town's claim to fame :)
  21. Oof, that is annoying. Yeah, I guess it's a bad financial decision if you view it as a financial decision! I have never gotten a tattoo as a financial decision--my 403b account and life insurance were financial decisions. Tattoos are more of a personal decision. Everyone gets to decide what they want to spend their money on. Some women spend thousands on freakin' purses, and I shouldn't comment on that because it's their choice and I have some other material stuff I like buying, too, but at least the tattoos are going to last. They are not an investment, they are a pursuit. You can win--get the tattoos you want and enjoy them.
