  1. Glad Irene hopefully is going to turn out to be less that advertised.
  2. Continuing on with the theme of fingers and strings, more of the former with this one, though.
  3. MadMen is now streaming on Netflix Instant.
  4. Hello, Addendum to previous post: If you want to see the complete Battle, it is available in two parts on youtube, tried to put up links, but keeps wanting to put up an embedded video, and wants to save those for distinct videos, since they slow the loading of the page. Speaking of:
  5. Probably a nerd thing to ask, but does anyone own this book: Hanky Panky's awesome new book Could be info in there?
  6. Bands are tricky, the only person to die where I live was some kid who went outside in between them and got caught when a gust of wind snapped a tree limb on him, best to stay inside until the thing has passed then go sight seeing. Good luck to you!
  7. Those were sweet Shmitty! One hand guitar playing....yikes! Temporary Change of Pace: Edited version for documentary, but wanted to include the interviews to get the whole feel for people who are not familiar with Battle of the Year.
  8. Wishes everyone is the best of luck and hopes NYC is not hit, cause yeah.....35 billion dollar is alot of money, let alone all the people/businesses who are going to get screwed. Fill up your bath tubes with water, so you can flush your toilet, in case. Non-flushing toilets suck.
  9. In same spirit of dcostello's first video, this is also something that 'very few can pull off.' At Comic-Con 2008, an audience member asked Kristen Chenoweth to sing 'something' and this is what she sang, unrehearsed, no preparation, nothing....but an incredibly crafted voice.
  10. I completely agree! I watched it thinking, Wow....he shut up an entire room....when is he going to start to play.....ohh....shit.....I hope he doesn't start to play.....don't play!!....wow...fucking sweet! Thank you, I never heard of this guy or his group from the second vid, I kept on thinking Al Swearengen was going to come and bust down the bathroom door any second!
  11. Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone owns Juan Puente's book, Legacy: Hiroyoshi III. I'm thinking about getting it. What do you think of it? Also, I thought it might be a book that could possibly have the image that peps1 is looking for. Thank you!
  12. Best Song* Best Performance of Song* Best Opening Verse* Screen door slams, Mary's dress sways. Like a vision she dances across the porch, As the radio plays. *To me. Have a great day, everybody!
  13. Sweet Man! At first I was like, what is this....but then it took off and in a grand fashion, no edits, one take, awesome. Thank you for the posting, Shmitty! Soft spot for songs that tell actual stories, and never hurts to be bit...naughty.
  14. Hello, I'm probably going to get in trouble for starting three threads in one day on LST, but thinks this will be the one that I will be posting continuously on for quite a while. My major pet peeve on the internet is finding great performances, nearly all musical ones, that were filmed live. I love impromptu moments, unpolished, unedited (mostly) LIVE performances where great crafts people (singers, musicians, etc.) create something truly startling. The only way I know that I am seeing such a performance is that it fills me up with joy. Anyhow, hopes other people know of similar performances that they would want to share. To Start, B.B. King performing LIVE in SING-SING Prison, 1972
  15. For those who simply need to: Food in your teeth? Nope, it’s the latest body art craze … the tattooth! « Entertainment
  16. Hurray! The blogger site itself, done by Michelle Aldredge, called: Gwarlingo is pretty interesting and full of curious things as well. Particularly The Hedgehog in the Fog post, just watched it, visually beautiful.
  17. I was curious about the possibility of putting up 'a wall' or something somewhere on the forum, I have seen 'chatboxes' on some sites where people can put up a quick link or 'check this out' text, rather than putting a new thread up. edit: looked at the forum page and there quite a few boxes/categories already....perhaps not then, but just a thought. Been flipping through old threads, great times!
  18. Hello, I found this interesting blog about Japanese Manhole cover art that I thought people here might be interested in: An example: Here is the blog link: Drainspotting: 61 Amazing Manhole Covers from Japan | gwarlingo They made me think about cross walk lights I saw in Germany while backpacking a long time ago: Pretty cool and charming to me. *Going to recommend/ask about being able to post up on a wall or something, feels kinda spam-my putting up a new thread for this, but alas....
  19. I agree, which is what made this report/book/show catch my eye. These are pretty serious people, pilots, scientists, politicians, who have everything to lose by talking about such a subject, but still do. There are some serious scientist who are on the other side of course, such as the late John E. Mack, as a clear example: From wikipedia: Of course, Dr. Mack field was about abduction rather than UFOs. I'm a contrarian by nature, so finds the notion pretty intriguing. Plus, I agree with dcostello's sentiment, wouldn't be pretty fucking cool!! edit: And who can refute the clear logic of John Hodgman:
  20. Hello, Saw this and thought, give me a break and then started reading it and scratched my head, 'huh?' History Channel Puts The Strongest UFO Evidence Under The Microscope
  21. Not yet, is structuring my life to be one of the those guys (above).* *Not from Horiyoshi, of course.
